a_o parliament_n which_o it_o be_v like_a shall_v have_v be_v long_o before_o if_o this_o pestilence_n have_v not_o be_v so_o universal_a and_o so_o mortal_a we_o may_v obtain_v by_o our_o prayer_n beside_o therefore_o let_v we_o be_v so_o inflame_v with_o the_o zeal_n of_o god_n glory_n that_o we_o may_v pray_v as_o the_o people_n do_v here_o give_v i_o this_o and_o give_v i_o that_o that_o we_o may_v sing_v of_o thy_o salvation_n and_o set_v up_o our_o banner_n in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n when_o he_o shall_v fulfil_v all_o our_o petition_n and_o we_o shall_v find_v by_o experience_n that_o the_o more_o we_o seek_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n in_o any_o thing_n the_o soon_o shall_v we_o have_v it_o and_o in_o great_a measure_n for_o god_n though_o he_o shall_v forget_v we_o yet_o he_o can_v forget_v the_o glory_n of_o his_o name_n nor_o those_o that_o be_v careful_a of_o it_o so_o then_o whether_o we_o ask_v the_o forgiveness_n of_o our_o sin_n or_o the_o increase_n of_o faith_n or_o any_o other_o of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n to_o lead_v a_o holy_a life_n we_o must_v respect_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n in_o they_o and_o that_o we_o and_o other_o may_v praise_v he_o for_o they_o or_o
but_o repose_v his_o whole_a confidence_n in_o god_n defence_n therefore_o he_o pray_v to_o he_o before_o he_o begin_v any_o thing_n and_o determine_v further_a in_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o his_o use_v in_o his_o behalf_n be_v desirous_a that_o they_o shall_v pray_v for_o he_o and_o do_v as_o it_o be_v seek_v it_o at_o their_o hand_n if_o he_o in_o so_o good_a a_o cause_n do_v not_o rest_n in_o the_o confidence_n of_o his_o own_o prayer_n but_o desire_v other_o to_o pray_v for_o he_o and_o if_o he_o do_v it_o then_o when_o he_o have_v so_o many_o mean_n to_o accomplish_v his_o desire_n kingdom_n a_o man_n of_o great_a courage_n for_o the_o war_n and_o of_o policy_n for_o peace_n and_o in_o a_o word_n the_o mirror_n of_o the_o world_n what_o cause_n then_o have_v we_o to_o pray_v for_o he_o and_o that_o we_o may_v do_v it_o king_n what_o great_a benefit_n we_o enjoy_v under_o the_o government_n of_o our_o king_n let_v we_o remember_v how_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o of_o the_o benefit_n that_o we_o receive_v by_o our_o king_n and_o to_o what_o end_n their_o government_n be_v appoint_v namely_o not_o for_o themselves_o but_o for_o their_o subject_n that_o they_o by_o their_o mean_n may_v live_v peaceable_o honest_o and_o godly_o which_o be_v three_o great_a commodity_n and_o comfort_n of_o this_o life_n and_o without_o which_o our_o life_n be_v not_o life_n and_o first_o for_o peace_n nothing_o be_v more_o to_o be_v desire_v than_o that_o for_o if_o we_o have_v all_o that_o we_o have_v and_o a_o great_a deal_n more_o and_o yet_o be_v subject_a to_o war_n abroad_o or_o foreign_a invasion_n or_o to_o robber_n and_o thief_n at_o home_n it_o will_v do_v we_o little_a good_a and_o yet_o this_o peace_n without_o godliness_n be_v nothing_o worth_a as_o if_o we_o have_v not_o the_o mean_n of_o our_o salvation_n and_o may_v not_o thus_o come_v to_o the_o church_n to_o serve_v god_n according_a to_o his_o word_n and_o to_o lead_v our_o life_n thereafter_o and_o if_o we_o have_v these_o yet_o if_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o honesty_n among_o man_n nor_o any_o true_a deal_n one_o with_o another_o so_o that_o one_o man_n may_v not_o trust_v another_o but_o there_o be_v lie_v deceive_a oppression_n and_o such_o like_a without_o controlment_n now_o all_o these_o benefit_n of_o peace_n honesty_n and_o godliness_n we_o have_v by_o the_o mean_n of_o our_o king_n especial_o we_o may_v look_v for_o they_o under_o his_o government_n peaceable_o 1._o as_o to_o live_v peaceable_o for_o as_o for_o foreign_a enemy_n and_o invasion_n which_o in_o former_a time_n we_o have_v be_v in_o fear_n of_o he_o be_v in_o league_n with_o all_o christian_a prince_n round_o about_o he_o so_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o fear_v they_o and_o as_o for_o tumultuous_a and_o disorder_a person_n at_o home_n the_o law_n be_v still_o in_o force_n to_o suppress_v they_o and_o it_o be_v like_o that_o new_a shall_v be_v make_v if_o there_o be_v any_o cause_n and_o though_o some_o do_v break_v out_o in_o hope_n of_o the_o king_n pardon_n yet_o for_o the_o time_n present_a the_o law_n will_v take_v hold_n of_o they_o and_o how_o far_o his_o gracious_a pardon_n will_v extend_v they_o know_v not_o we_o may_v be_v sure_a that_o all_o such_o shall_v be_v exempt_v who_o do_v evil_a before_o hand_n in_o hope_n of_o it_o godly_o 2._o godly_o and_o we_o hope_v to_o live_v honest_o under_o he_o for_o he_o seek_v already_o the_o good_a of_o all_o his_o subject_n as_o appear_v by_o his_o proclamation_n wherein_o he_o have_v give_v all_o man_n that_o still_o to_o enjoy_v such_o great_a benefit_n by_o his_o most_o gracious_a government_n what_o great_a cause_n have_v we_o to_o pray_v for_o he_o king_n what_o cause_n we_o have_v to_o pray_v for_o the_o life_n of_o our_o king_n and_o the_o great_a that_o these_o benefit_n be_v the_o more_o cause_n have_v we_o to_o pray_v for_o his_o life_n by_o who_o next_o under_o god_n we_o look_v to_o have_v it_o may_v appear_v that_o we_o be_v not_o ignorant_a of_o our_o own_o estate_n when_o we_o can_v name_v that_o that_o we_o lack_v and_o may_v also_o see_v how_o god_n bless_v we_o not_o only_o general_o but_o particular_o that_o we_o may_v be_v thankful_a for_o the_o same_o and_o therefore_o as_o a_o child_n ask_v not_o only_a thing_n needful_a of_o his_o father_n but_o this_o and_o that_o and_o as_o christ_n say_v but_o to_o another_o end_n he_o ask_v he_o a_o egg_n or_o fish_n or_o bread_n so_o we_o must_v do_v unto_o the_o lord_n god_n and_o sow_n must_v particular_o commend_v the_o estate_n of_o other_o unto_o god_n and_o as_o we_o must_v thus_o pray_v for_o ourselves_o so_o for_o other_o also_o god_n will_v have_v we_o to_o take_v knowledge_n of_o their_o estate_n as_o much_o as_o we_o can_v and_o be_v touch_v with_o it_o that_o we_o may_v pray_v for_o this_o and_o that_o according_a to_o their_o need_n in_o soul_n and_o body_n thus_o must_v we_o pray_v by_o this_o example_n for_o our_o king_n not_o only_o that_o god_n will_v hear_v his_o prayer_n from_o time_n to_o time_n but_o see_v that_o we_o hear_v that_o he_o be_v subject_a to_o many_o danger_n and_o be_v but_o one_o that_o pray_v they_o say_v i_o know_v and_o this_o they_o do_v according_a to_o the_o nature_n of_o true_a faith_n which_o be_v to_o apply_v god_n promise_n and_o his_o merciful_a deliverance_n particular_o to_o every_o man_n and_o woman_n and_o so_o say_v as_o it_o be_v in_o our_o creed_n i_o believe_v in_o god_n and_o not_o we_o believe_v that_o be_v i_o be_o persuade_v that_o he_o be_v the_o god_n not_o only_o of_o other_o but_o of_o i_o and_o so_o here_o though_o many_o do_v use_v this_o prayer_n together_o yet_o every_o one_o be_v to_o have_v this_o faith_n in_o themselves_o that_o they_o do_v know_v that_o god_n will_v hear_v they_o and_o what_o do_v they_o or_o shall_v they_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v help_v his_o anointed_n that_o be_v their_o king_n david_n so_o call_v because_o he_o be_v by_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n anoint_v by_o samuel_n the_o prophet_n unto_o that_o office_n 16.13_o 1._o sam._n 16.13_o and_o that_o he_o will_v hear_v his_o prayer_n and_o grant_v his_o request_n from_o his_o sanctuary_n that_o be_v from_o heaven_n and_o thus_o they_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v do_v by_o or_o with_o his_o right_a hand_n that_o god_n will_v hear_v us._n and_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o pray_v in_o vain_a but_o he_o will_v give_v we_o the_o thing_n that_o we_o ask_v and_o this_o faith_n be_v so_o requisite_a and_o necessary_a that_o without_o it_o neither_o be_v our_o prayer_n acceptable_a unto_o god_n neither_o can_v we_o look_v to_o receive_v any_o thing_n at_o his_o hand_n 11.6_o heb._n 11.6_o for_o without_o faith_n of_o his_o greatness_n but_o at_o last_o this_o good_a king_n get_v by_o prayer_n more_o assurance_n of_o faith_n than_o the_o rest_n and_o so_o bad_a his_o noble_n and_o people_n not_o fear_v he_o people_n verse_n 7._o hezekiah_n have_v assurance_n of_o god_n help_n for_o the_o comfort_n of_o all_o his_o people_n say_v be_v strong_a and_o courageous_a fear_v not_o neither_o be_v afraid_a for_o with_o we_o be_v the_o lord_n our_o god_n to_o help_v we_o and_o to_o fight_v our_o battle_n and_o then_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o people_n be_v comfort_v by_o his_o word_n insinuate_v that_o they_o be_v waver_v and_o doubtful_a before_o now_o that_o he_o come_v to_o this_o assurance_n by_o prayer_n there_o be_v no_o doubt_n though_o there_o be_v no_o mention_n of_o it_o in_o these_o word_n for_o beside_o that_o the_o lord_n do_v thus_o unusual_o give_v it_o as_o have_v be_v see_v before_o this_o good_a king_n in_o this_o distress_n we_o may_v be_v assure_v do_v not_o neglect_v when_o the_o danger_n increase_v and_o his_o faith_n somewhat_o fail_v he_o receive_v this_o benefit_n of_o comfort_n in_o his_o fear_n from_o another_o even_o for_o the_o prophet_n isaijah_n for_o then_o hezekiah_n the_o king_n and_o isaiah_n the_o prophet_n pray_v against_o this_o and_o cry_v to_o heaven_n but_o it_o seem_v that_o the_o king_n for_o all_o this_o have_v yet_o no_o great_a assurance_n in_o himself_o that_o god_n will_v deliver_v he_o but_o isaiah_n that_o pray_v with_o he_o have_v it_o for_o he_o and_o for_o the_o rest_n and_o do_v comfort_v he_o for_o it_o be_v thus_o
