see_v all_o his_o good_a so_o naughty_a that_o it_o be_v tasteless_a to_o he_o he_o never_o get_v any_o thing_n to_o rest_v on_o or_o that_o can_v bear_v his_o weight_n to_o confide_v in_o till_o he_o come_v to_o christ_n sacrifice_n 6_o such_o as_o be_v aim_v right_o to_o make_v use_n of_o christ_n offer_v and_o sacrifice_n esteem_v and_o think_v exceed_a much_o of_o it_o therefore_o they_o adventure_v heaven_n and_o their_o eternal_a salvation_n on_o it_o it_o be_v that_o which_o cheer_v and_o delight_v they_o most_o that_o christ_n have_v step_v in_o and_o engage_v to_o do_v that_o much_o wonder_n to_o the_o believer_n when_o he_o think_v how_o that_o when_o the_o stroke_n of_o justice_n be_v ready_a to_o come_v on_o he_o christ_n shall_v have_v interpose_v betwixt_o he_o and_o that_o fatal_a and_o deadly_a blow_n but_o
think_v of_o enjoy_v of_o heaven_n and_o glory_n you_o will_v think_v also_o whence_o it_o come_v to_o be_v thus_o with_o you_o o_o think_v on_o that_o rock_n out_o of_o which_o you_o be_v hew_v as_o the_o gospel_n and_o the_o great_a mean_a whereby_o these_o news_n become_v delightsome_a and_o that_o be_v by_o faith_n to_o receive_v the_o report_n of_o the_o gospel_n or_o to_o believe_v on_o christ_n report_v of_o in_o it_o this_o be_v clear_o employ_v for_o the_o regrate_a which_o hold_v out_o the_o sin_n be_v who_o have_v believe_v our_o report_n and_o therefore_o the_o great_a duty_n yea_o it_o be_v the_o design_n of_o the_o law_n also_o both_o of_o which_o level_v at_o this_o end_n and_o scope_n even_o faith_n in_o christ_n it_o will_v be_v expedient_a and_o no_o way_n impertinent_a that_o we_o insist_v a_o little_a on_o this_o especial_o when_o so_o many_o thousand_o be_v utter_o ignorant_a of_o faith_n be_v stranger_n to_o what_o believe_v in_o christ_n be_v and_o so_o great_a stranger_n to_o the_o native_a end_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o out_o of_o the_o way_n of_o get_v good_a by_o the_o preach_a of_o it_o so_o that_o to_o this_o day_n they_o have_v not_o learn_v this_o one_o lesson_n to_o wit_n concern_v faith_n in_o christ_n and_o other_o lesson_n will_v be_v to_o little_a or_o no_o purpose_n till_o this_o be_v learned_a we_o shall_v not_o insist_v and_o capacitate_v we_o to_o believe_v though_o they_o be_v not_o save_v faith_n as_o namely_o 1._o that_o the_o offer_n of_o the_o gospel_n must_v come_v to_o people_n that_o the_o object_n of_o faith_n be_v hold_v out_o to_o they_o that_o it_o be_v tell_v they_o that_o there_o be_v a_o way_n for_o a_o sinner_n justification_n through_o christ_n jesus_n and_o that_o sinner_n may_v be_v own_o condition_n as_o that_o we_o be_v natural_o under_o sin_n that_o we_o be_v lose_v and_o under_o the_o curse_n sick_a and_o utter_o unable_a and_o even_o desperate_a to_o get_v ourselves_o recover_v by_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o or_o by_o any_o thing_n that_o we_o can_v do_v of_o ourselves_o that_o we_o be_v for_o ever_o undo_v if_o we_o get_v not_o a_o saviour_n that_o our_o mouth_n may_v be_v stop_v 4._o not_o only_o must_v we_o know_v this_o but_o it_o be_v necessary_a there_o be_v a_o historical_a faith_n of_o it_o to_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v fullness_n and_o jesus_n christ_n as_o hold_v out_o in_o the_o promise_n for_o obtain_v of_o life_n and_o salvation_n through_o he_o so_o that_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v lie_v still_o under_o its_o conviction_n and_o know_v it_o can_v have_v life_n but_o by_o rest_v on_o christ_n and_o hear_v that_o there_o be_v a_o sufficiency_n in_o he_o for_o up_o make_v of_o all_o its_o want_n than_o the_o work_n of_o the_o reason_n why_o justification_n be_v attribute_v as_o to_o faith_n 2._o consider_v that_o this_o contribut_n most_o to_o god_n end_n which_o be_v to_o glorify_v himself_o especial_o in_o his_o grace_n in_o the_o justification_n of_o sinner_n even_o to_o hold_v forth_o the_o manifold_a riches_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o nothing_o contribut_v to_o this_o so_o much_o and_o so_o well_o aâ—_n that_o which_o speak_v the_o sinner_n to_o be_v empty_a and_o nothing_o empty_v the_o sinner_n more_o than_o faith_n it_o be_v the_o great_a act_n of_o faith_n to_o bring_v the_o soul_n of_o its_o own_o bottom_n and_o to_o stop_v all_o boast_n to_o drive_v it_o out_o of_o itself_o to_o be_v find_v in_o he_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v to_o be_v of_o faith_n that_o it_o may_v be_v of_o grace_n rom._n 14.16_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v if_o it_o be_v by_o any_o other_o thing_n it_o can_v not_o be_v by_o grace_n but_o faith_n claim_v nothing_o but_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n to_o rest_v
