who_o all_o the_o command_a power_n of_o the_o law_n under_o pain_n of_o the_o curse_n and_o the_o enjoin_v of_o good_a work_n for_o justification_n as_o also_o to_o who_o the_o condemn_a power_n of_o the_o law_n be_v abolish_v and_o cease_v to_o they_o the_o law_n be_v altogether_o make_v void_a and_o abrogate_a but_o to_o believer_n both_o such_o command_a power_n and_o condemn_a power_n be_v cease_v and_o therefore_o etc._n etc._n and_o thus_o they_o further_o explain_v it_o suppose_v a_o justify_v man_n commit_v adultery_n or_o murder_n or_o be_v drink_v the_o law_n of_o god_n can_v take_v no_o hold_n of_o he_o nor_o the_o just_a god_n can_v punish_v he_o by_o the_o law_n be_v utter_o abrogate_a to_o such_o a_o person_n answ._n the_o former_a proposition_n be_v apparent_o false_a the_o law_n they_o have_v do_v what_o be_v their_o duty_n and_o that_o they_o be_v bind_v unto_o luke_n 17._o 10._o 2._o these_o confuse_a man_n distinguish_v not_o between_o the_o condemn_a power_n of_o the_o law_n and_o the_o law_n itself_o yet_o this_o distinction_n cut_v the_o sinew_n of_o this_o objection_n for_o can_v it_o prove_v the_o law_n itself_o abolish_v 714._o because_o the_o condemn_a power_n of_o it_o be_v to_o some_o remove_v by_o christ_n or_o if_o certain_a use_n of_o the_o law_n be_v abolish_v as_o in_o way_n of_o righteousness_n life_n and_o salvation_n or_o in_o way_n of_o terrify_v accuse_v or_o condemn_v the_o justify_v by_o faith_n must_v therefore_o the_o law_n itself_o and_o all_o other_o use_n of_o it_o be_v abolish_v 3._o what_o believer_n conceive_v himself_o under_o the_o command_a power_n of_o the_o law_n to_o be_v justify_v by_o it_o or_o to_o expect_v to_o stand_v righteous_a before_o god_n by_o their_o obedience_n as_o these_o man_n vain_o dream_v no_o they_o have_v other_o end_n of_o their_o obedience_n to_o the_o commandment_n of_o the_o law_n as_o 1._o to_o testify_v their_o endeavour_n in_o obey_v the_o righteous_a law_n and_o will_n of_o god_n and_o their_o conformity_n to_o his_o image_n in_o the_o same_o 2._o not_o for_o the_o justification_n of_o their_o person_n for_o that_o be_v only_o by_o christ_n complete_a obedience_n make_v they_o by_o faith_n but_o for_o the_o testification_n of_o their_o justify_n faith_n according_a to_o the_o direction_n of_o the_o apostle_n jam._n 2._o 20._o show_v i_o thy_o faith_n by_o thy_o work_n 3._o not_o for_o the_o attain_n of_o salvation_n it●_n pet._n 1._o 10._o give_v all_o diligence_n to_o make_v your_o election_n sure_a how_o may_v we_o for_o if_o we_o do_v these_o thing_n etc._n etc._n 4_o not_o to_o merit_v any_o thing_n but_o to_o encourage_v themselves_o in_o the_o way_n of_o obedience_n by_o cast_v eye_n on_o the_o bless_a remuneration_n free_o promise_v and_o perform_v to_o duty_n of_o love_n to_o god_n and_o man_n begin_v and_o perfect_v by_o faith_n in_o christ._n heb._n 11_o 26._o moses_n have_v respect_n to_o the_o recompense_n of_o
