the_o ascension_n of_o our_o lord_n without_o we_o know_v it_o to_o be_v true_a in_o deed_n and_o therefore_o saint_n luke_n say_v that_o the_o apostle_n see_v he_o ascend_v and_o say_v beside_o that_o they_o abide_v still_o gaze_v there_o until_o such_o time_n as_o they_o be_v tell_v that_o they_o must_v tarry_v no_o long_o but_o return_v to_o jerusalem_n to_o do_v their_o office_n as_o be_v if_o they_o do_v but_o slight_o conceive_v of_o that_o which_o be_v teach_v but_o we_o be_v teach_v to_o take_v our_o lord_n jesus_n to_o be_v the_o only_a cause_n of_o our_o salvation_n which_o thing_n we_o be_v neâ—er_o able_a to_o do_v without_o we_o lively_o feel_v that_o we_o be_v lose_v in_o ourselves_o and_o beside_o that_o as_o god_n mean_v to_o receive_v we_o once_o for_o all_o to_o that_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o we_o shall_v understande_v no_o more_o of_o it_o than_o a_o high_a almane_n as_o we_o say_v until_o such_o time_n as_o he_o inward_o touch_v we_o with_o his_o holy_a of_o a_o thing_n that_o be_v requisite_a for_o the_o assurance_n of_o our_o salvation_n wherefore_o if_o we_o will_v have_v the_o principal_a point_n of_o christianity_n we_o must_v come_v to_o this_o until_o such_o time_n as_o we_o have_v finish_v our_o course_n here_o we_o see_v how_o by_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n our_o faith_n shall_v overcome_v the_o world_n 2.23_o colos_n according_a to_o that_o say_n of_o the_o prophet_n jeremiah_n where_o he_o show_v that_o it_o fare_v even_o so_o with_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n who_o the_o word_n of_o god_n consume_v like_o straw_n and_o stubble_n for_o their_o wickedness_n and_o rebellion_n and_o i_o beseech_v you_o let_v we_o see_v how_o many_o at_o this_o day_n can_v plead_v not_o guilty_a because_o they_o stubborne_o lift_v up_o themselves_o against_o god_n like_o foam_a wild_a beast_n or_o else_o some_o scorn_v and_o profane_a man_n who_o set_v themselves_o against_o god_n not_o geve_v any_o authority_n or_o understanding_n of_o this_o truth_n &_o for_o stick_v thereto_o otherwise_o we_o shall_v be_v both_o deaf_a blockish_a &_o without_o apprehend_v of_o this_o word_n thus_o much_o then_o for_o this_o point_n now_o for_o the_o second_o point_n it_o shall_v stand_v we_o in_o hand_n stout_o to_o withstand_v all_o the_o assault_n &_o attempt_n wherewith_o satan_n assail_v we_o and_o to_o be_v well_o arm_v &_o appoint_v for_o the_o same_o purpose_n and_o how_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o we_o to_o be_v so_o until_o such_o time_n as_o god_n have_v put_v to_o his_o help_a hand_n and_o there_o be_v no_o way_n to_o help_v that_o but_o by_o the_o only_a power_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o therefore_o although_o we_o be_v a_o hundred_o time_n teach_v the_o gospel_n yet_o forsomuch_o as_o we_o be_v light_n &_o fickle_a brain_a we_o shall_v soon_o be_v pull_v from_o it_o if_o god_n do_v not_o strengthen_v we_o therein_o yea_o and_o at_o this_o day_n it_o be_v so_o full_a of_o peril_n &_o threat_n as_o that_o the_o silly_a faithful_a soul_n can_v no_o soon_o open_v their_o mouth_n to_o call_v upon_o god_n but_o that_o they_o be_v forthwith_o at_o the_o point_n to_o be_v put_v to_o death_n neither_o can_v they_o any_o soon_o confess_v their_o faith_n but_o that_o the_o fire_n be_v lighten_v utter_o to_o abolish_v the_o memory_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n since_o than_o
