sufficient_o qualify_v we_o now_o begin_v to_o see_v that_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n be_v great_a and_o manifold_a sufficient_a in_o themselves_o to_o pardon_v the_o multiply_v multitude_n of_o our_o thought-transgression_n but_o we_o be_v most_o vile_a wretch_n not_o worthy_a of_o the_o least_o crumb_n of_o mercy_n we_o can_v do_v nothing_o that_o can_v please_v god_n that_o can_v move_v he_o to_o show_v mercy_n we_o have_v not_o a_o break_a frame_n of_o spirit_n we_o can_v be_v so_o bitter_o affect_v and_o afflict_v in_o spirit_n for_o all_o the_o wickedness_n of_o our_o thought_n as_o we_o desire_v have_v we_o but_o that_o depth_n of_o humiliation_n and_o height_n of_o spiritual_a qualification_n that_o we_o see_v in_o some_o saint_n we_o can_v then_o believe_v the_o forgiveness_n of_o all_o our_o evil_a thought_n be_v our_o heart_n so_o enlarge_v in_o duty_n and_o carry_v with_o that_o overpowering_a strength_n against_o the_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o thought_n and_o work_n as_o they_o shall_v be_v we_o may_v then_o have_v some_o hope_n of_o pardon_v mercy_n but_o when_o our_o spiritual_a want_n be_v so_o great_a our_o humiliation_n so_o little_a our_o strength_n against_o sin_n so_o weak_a how_o dare_v we_o think_v that_o any_o mercy_n belong_v to_o we_o how_o can_v we_o venture_v upon_o these_o precious_a mercy_n whereunto_o i_o answer_v 1._o who_o make_v this_o a_o condition_n of_o the_o answ_n gospel-covenant_n that_o man_n must_v have_v such_o a_o height_n of_o contrition_n and_o mortify_a strength_n so_o great_a inlargement_n in_o grace_n and_o performance_n etc._n etc._n before_o they_o may_v lay_v hold_n upon_o pardon_v mercy_n sure_o this_o condition_n be_v not_o of_o god_n
