proclamation_n anent_o the_o pole-money_n william_n and_o mary_n by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n king_n and_o queen_n of_o great_a britain_n france_n and_o ireland_n defender_n of_o the_o faith_n to_o macer_n of_o privy_a council_n messenger_n at_o arm_n our_o sheriff_n in_o that_o part_n conjunct_o and_o several_o special_o constitute_v greeting_n forasmuch_o as_o by_o the_o nine_o act_n of_o the_o four_o session_n of_o this_o our_o current_a parliament_n the_o estate_n of_o parliament_n have_v free_o and_o cheerful_o offer_v the_o pole-money_n therein_o specify_v to_o be_v employ_v for_o the_o end_n and_o use_v express_v in_o the_o say_a act_n and_o the_o commissioner_n of_o assessment_n or_o their_o quorum_fw-la and_o the_o magistrate_n of_o burgh_n royal_a be_v ordain_v to_o meet_v and_o conveen_v upon_o the_o day_n and_o to_o the_o end_n particular_o therein_o mention_v as_o also_o the_o lord_n of_o our_o privy_a council_n be_v impower_v to_o order_n and_o appoint_v such_o further_a method_n and_o course_n beside_o these_o by_o that_o act_n appoint_v as_o they_o shall_v judge_v fit_a for_o state_v and_o inbringing_a of_o the_o say_a pole-money_n and_o we_o consider_v that_o the_o pole-money_n offer_v by_o the_o say_a act_n may_v be_v most_o effectual_o and_o profitable_o raise_v and_o levy_v by_o way_n of_o public_a roup_n in_o favour_n of_o the_o person_n who_o shall_v offer_v most_o for_o the_o same_o therefore_o we_o with_o advice_n of_o the_o lord_n of_o our_o privy_a council_n do_v hereby_o ordain_v public_a intimation_n to_o be_v make_v to_o all_o our_o liedge_n that_o the_o pole_n money_n in_o the_o above_o act_n mention_v be_v to_o be_v public_o roup_v by_o the_o lord_n of_o our_o thesaury_n and_o exchequer_n within_o our_o exchequer-house_n at_o edinburgh_n upon_o the_o twenty_o five_o day_n of_o july_n instant_a betwixt_o three_o and_o five_o hour_n in_o the_o afternoon_n and_o that_o who_o shall_v bid_v most_o for_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v prefer_v and_o have_v commission_n or_o right_o grant_v to_o they_o for_o uplift_v and_o collect_v thereof_o in_o the_o term_n appoint_v by_o the_o act_n of_o parliament_n as_o also_o that_o the_o article_n and_o condition_n of_o the_o say_v roup_n be_v lie_v in_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o clerk_n of_o our_o thesaury_n and_o exchequer_n to_o be_v see_v by_o all_o concern_v and_o further_o we_o with_o advice_n foresay_a do_v hereby_o peremptorly_a require_v and_o command_v the_o commissioner_n of_o supply_n and_o magistrate_n of_o burgh_n within_o their_o respective_a bound_n to_o meet_v conveen_n act_n proceed_v and_o do_v in_o the_o say_a matter_n of_o the_o pole-money_n as_o by_o the_o say_a act_n of_o parliament_n be_v appoint_v and_o to_o return_v list_n and_o roll_n to_o our_o thesaury_n in_o the_o term_n and_o betwixt_o and_o the_o time_n particular_o therein_o specify_v our_o will_n be_v herefore_o and_o we_o charge_v you_o strict_o and_o command_v that_o incontinent_a these_o our_o letter_n see_v you_o pass_v to_o the_o mercat-cross_n of_o edinburgh_n and_o to_o the_o mercat-cross_n of_o the_o headburgh_n of_o the_o several_a shire_n of_o this_o kingdom_n and_o there_o in_o our_o name_n and_o authority_n by_o open_a proclamation_n make_v public_a intimation_n of_o the_o premise_n that_o none_o pretend_v ignorance_n give_v under_o our_o signet_n at_o edinburgh_n the_o six_o day_n of_o july_n and_o of_o our_o reign_n the_o six_o year_n 1694._o per_fw-la actum_fw-la dominorum_fw-la secreti_fw-la concilii_fw-la gilb_n eliot_n cls._n sti._n concilii_fw-la god_n save_o king_n william_n and_o queen_n mary_n edinburgh_n print_v by_o the_o successor_n of_o andrew_n anderson_n printer_n to_o their_o most_o excellent_a majesty_n anno_fw-la dom._n 1694._o
