they_o turn_v to_o the_o maintenance_n of_o their_o obstinacy_n and_o stubbornness_n think_v because_o of_o this_o promise_n that_o all_o the_o threaten_n of_o punishment_n and_o destruction_n declare_v by_o the_o prophet_n be_v but_o vain_a and_o not_o agree_v with_o the_o former_a covenant_n therefore_o god_n here_o will_v his_o prophet_n plain_o to_o signify_v to_o the_o king_n himself_o and_o to_o all_o his_o prince_n 13_o that_o as_o the_o promise_n be_v conditional_a and_o require_v as_o well_o their_o obedience_n on_o the_o one_o part_n as_o his_o truth_n on_o the_o other_o so_o if_o they_o fulfil_v not_o the_o condition_n they_o neither_o may_v nor_o shall_v be_v partaker_n of_o the_o benefit_n of_o the_o covenant_n the_o place_n be_v holy_a wherein_o the_o king_n of_o juda_n do_v sit_v and_o they_o be_v figure_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n therefore_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n may_v the_o less_o bear_v with_o their_o wickedness_n by_o this_o we_o may_v learn_v that_o no_o title_n of_o dignity_n pre-eminence_n or_o holiness_n can_v save_v we_o from_o the_o just_a plague_n of_o god_n if_o we_o depart_v from_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o holy_a will_n and_o covenant_n keep_v equity_n and_o righteousness_n say_v the_o prophet_n deliver_v the_o oppress_v from_o the_o power_n of_o the_o violent_a do_v not_o grieve_v nor_o oppress_v the_o stranger_n the_o fatherless_a or_o the_o widow_n shed_v no_o innocent_a blood_n execute_v judgement_n faithful_o and_o true_o in_o all_o thing_n and_o toward_o all_o person_n and_o then_o shall_v you_o prosper_v and_o flourish_v and_o you_o shall_v enjoy_v the_o promise_n make_v to_o david_n and_o to_o his_o posterity_n but_o if_o you_o will_v not_o so_o do_v 12._o but_o continue_v in_o *_o injury_n oppression_n and_o violence_n as_o before_o time_n you_o have_v do_v i_o swear_v unto_o you_o by_o my_o own_o self_n and_o by_o my_o truth_n that_o the_o holy_a city_n of_o david_n throne_n and_o kingdom_n shall_v not_o help_v you_o but_o that_o i_o will_v make_v this_o house_n to_o be_v waste_n and_o give_v it_o as_o a_o pray_v unto_o the_o enemy_n for_o although_o jerusalem_n 6._o which_o be_v the_o head_n of_o libanus_n be_v the_o place_n which_o i_o have_v choose_v for_o the_o peculiar_a seat_n of_o my_o worship_n yet_o see_v it_o be_v fall_v from_o i_o to_o wickedness_n and_o idolatry_n i_o esteem_v it_o now_o no_o otherwise_o than_o i_o do_v gilead_n and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o ten_o tribe_n wherein_o it_o stand_v and_o as_o i_o have_v deal_v by_o that_o kingdom_n and_o for_o the_o disobedience_n thereof_o make_v it_o waste_v and_o desolate_a even_o so_o will_v i_o do_v by_o jerusalem_n and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o judah_n and_o will_v bring_v the_o enemy_n to_o destroy_v that_o also_o see_v they_o will_v by_o no_o mean_n be_v reclaim_v the_o kingdom_n wherein_o mount_n gilead_n stand_v be_v far_o large_a and_o of_o great_a worthiness_n in_o itself_o than_o libanus_n and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o juda_n whereof_o jerusalem_n be_v the_o thief_n city_n therefore_o if_o i_o spare_v not_o that_o they_o may_v not_o think_v that_o i_o will_v spare_v jerusalem_n and_o juda_n i_o will_v prepare_v a_o destroyer_n with_o his_o weapon_n for_o thou_o 7._o to_o hew_v down_o etc_n etc_n because_o he_o have_v say_v that_o jerusalem_n shall_v be_v destroy_v he_o now_o show_v the_o mean_n and_o the_o manner_n how_o it_o shall_v be_v do_v this_o destroyer_n be_v the_o army_n of_o the_o chaldee_n and_o babylonian_n which_o be_v bring_v by_o god_n upon_o his_o people_n they_o come_v not_o of_o their_o own_o motion_n but_o be_v lead_v thereto_o of_o god_n as_o his_o scourge_n to_o the_o punishment_n of_o the_o wicked_a &_o therefore_o he_o say_v i_o will_v prepare_v a_o destroyer_n by_o which_o word_n both_o the_o jew_n and_o by_o they_o all_o outstretch_o have_v to_o learn_v 11._o that_o it_o be_v *_o god_n that_o bring_v affliction_n &_o trouble_n upon_o sinner_n and_o therefore_o shall_v they_o also_o consider_v that_o they_o have_v not_o only_o to_o deal_v with_o the_o outward_a enemy_n that_o persecute_v they_o but_o with_o god_n himself_o who_o will_n no_o power_n or_o endeavour_n can_v resist_v and_o therefore_o that_o the_o best_a way_n be_v when_o in_o such_o case_n we_o feel_v the_o heavy_a hand_n of_o god_n lay_v upon_o we_o by_o earnest_a repentance_n humble_o to_o submit_v ourselves_o unto_o he_o &_o crave_v his_o mercy_n to_o hew_v down_o their_o especial_a cedar_n tree_n may_v either_o be_v take_v literal_o that_o they_o shall_v make_v spoil_n of_o that_o goodly_a wood_n of_o libanus_n &_o of_o the_o notable_a timber_n thereof_o wherein_o the_o jew_n great_o glory_v or_o else_o it_o may_v be_v understand_v figurative_o of_o the_o beam_n of_o the_o temple_n which_o at_o the_o destruction_n thereof_o shall_v be_v cut_v out_o to_o the_o fire_n or_o third_o of_o their_o noble_a man_n and_o all_o the_o glory_n of_o their_o city_n and_o kingdom_n the_o chief_a whereof_o shall_v be_v bring_v to_o confusion_n and_o all_o the_o people_n that_o go_v by_o this_o city_n 9_o shall_v speak_v one_o to_o another_o etc_n etc_n before_o time_n god_n have_v beautify_v the_o city_n of_o jerusalem_n with_o his_o marvelous_a benefit_n so_o that_o it_o be_v speak_v of_o as_o a_o wonder_n or_o miracle_n among_o strange_a nation_n how_o mighty_o god_n
