the_o general_a providence_n of_o god_n in_o govern_v all_o justify_v he_o as_o to_o his_o power_n to_o be_v the_o true_a and_o sole_a object_n of_o our_o confidence_n we_o can_v trust_v in_o none_o else_o but_o may_v be_v control_v the_o great_a prince_n of_o the_o earth_n be_v but_o man_n under_o the_o authority_n of_o one_o who_o be_v high_o than_o they_o and_o a_o man_n trust_n in_o they_o ofttimes_o be_v but_o like_o the_o jew_n trust_v in_o egypt_n which_o the_o prophet_n compare_v to_o a_o lean_v to_o a_o bruise_a reed_n and_o upon_o a_o break_a staff_n which_o be_v not_o able_a to_o bear_v the_o weight_n of_o a_o man_n body_n but_o if_o he_o lean_v upon_o they_o they_o will_v run_v into_o his_o hand_n if_o god_n be_v against_o we_o man_n can_v protect_v from_o he_o nor_o deliver_v out_o of_o his_o hand_n therefore_o say_v the_o psalmist_n psalm_n 118.8_o 9_o it_o be_v better_a to_o trust_v in_o the_o lord_n than_o to_o put_v confidence_n in_o man_n it_o be_v better_a of_o those_o who_o as_o to_o the_o creation_n of_o the_o world_n will_v have_v god_n at_o first_o to_o have_v make_v such_o a_o confuse_a chaos_n or_o mass_n and_o then_o out_o of_o that_o to_o have_v make_v all_o thing_n the_o potter_n indeed_o must_v have_v such_o a_o heap_n of_o clay_n before_o he_o can_v make_v his_o pot_n of_o several_a size_n and_o fashion_n but_o if_o he_o be_v to_o create_v this_o clay_n certain_o he_o will_v go_v the_o further_a way_n about_o for_o by_o the_o same_o power_n that_o he_o must_v first_o have_v to_o give_v be_v to_o his_o clay_n he_o may_v make_v his_o wonderful_o experience_v although_o possible_o not_o so_o wist_o observe_v and_o consider_v by_o we_o as_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v let_v i_o a_o little_a awaken_v you_o to_o a_o due_a consideration_n evidence_n that_o nothing_o but_o the_o uphold_v power_n of_o divine_a providence_n can_v hinder_v it_o it_o be_v god_n that_o must_v give_v we_o our_o daily_a food_n and_o it_o be_v god_n that_o must_v give_v we_o a_o stomach_n or_o appetite_n to_o it_o and_o the_o cause_n be_v so_o many_o which_o may_v abate_v and_o destroy_v our_o appetite_n that_o do_v not_o god_n daily_a watch_n over_o we_o and_o influence_n we_o as_o to_o this_o very_a thing_n it_o be_v a_o hard_a thing_n to_o conceive_v how_o it_o shall_v keep_v preserve_v a_o few_o day_n much_o less_o as_o it_o be_v with_o many_o to_o very_o many_o year_n 2._o but_o suppose_v we_o to_o have_v a_o appetite_n to_o say_v nothing_o of_o our_o power_n to_o take_v and_o chew_v and_o swallow_v our_o food_n we_o see_v by_o a_o daily_a experience_n if_o we_o have_v not_o a_o power_n to_o digest_v it_o if_o the_o natural_a heat_n of_o our_o stomach_n be_v from_o any_o cause_n abate_v so_o as_o it_o will_v not_o change_v our_o food_n and_o this_o continue_v upon_o we_o for_o any_o time_n and_o no_o remedy_n can_v be_v apportion_v to_o it_o the_o creature_n die_v whether_o it_o be_v man_n or_o beast_n if_o the_o nap_n of_o the_o stomach_n be_v but_o wear_v off_o our_o body_n soon_o appear_v threadbare_a we_o pine_v away_o and_o present_o sink_v into_o our_o grave_n by_o which_o we_o learn_v that_o a_o natural_a faculty_n power_n or_o ability_n to_o digest_v our_o food_n be_v necessary_a to_o the_o preservation_n of_o our_o being_n as_o i_o say_v before_o of_o the_o appetite_n so_o i_o shall_v say_v again_o of_o this_o a_o attractive_a virtue_n and_o faculty_n in_o the_o several_a part_n if_o these_o passage_n be_v any_o way_n stop_v or_o the_o attractive_a virtue_n abate_v the_o part_n be_v not_o nourish_v but_o decay_n and_o wither_v the_o creature_n be_v destroy_v of_o such_o obstruction_n we_o have_v daily_a example_n and_o indeed_o whoso_o consider_v the_o various_a passage_n in_o our_o body_n through_o which_o that_o part_n of_o our_o food_n which_o prove_v for_o nourishment_n pass_v and_o the_o variety_n of_o obstruction_n to_o which_o we_o be_v subject_a must_v needs_o again_o acknowledge_v that_o our_o soul_n must_v be_v keep_v in_o life_n our_o body_n in_o health_n mere_o by_o a_o divine_a power_n 4._o again_o what_o we_o take_v into_o our_o body_n for_o our_o proper_a food_n be_v in_o part_n find_v either_o not_o proper_a for_o we_o or_o in_o too_o great_a a_o proportion_n when_o the_o stomach_n have_v do_v its_o office_n there_o be_v a_o separation_n make_v that_o not_o proper_a for_o
