church_n which_o do_v remain_v when_o two_o part_n be_v cut_v off_o and_o die_v as_o in_o zech._n 18._o from_o vers._n 8._o to_o the_o end_n i_o say_v the_o spiritual_a man_n both_o in_o those_o the_o first_o place_n concerning_o those_o element_n which_o melt_v with_o fervent_a heat_n which_o certain_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v to_o be_v the_o glorious_a truth_n which_o be_v hold_v forth_o in_o babylon_n in_o which_o there_o be_v great_a mixture_n of_o error_n that_o may_v very_o well_o be_v compare_v unto_o that_o head_n of_o gold_n and_o the_o breast_n and_o arm_n of_o silver_n of_o silver_n and_o purify_v they_o as_o gold_n and_o so_o it_o lose_v nothing_o but_o dross_n which_o be_v the_o earth_n and_o the_o work_n thereof_o that_o shall_v be_v burn_v up_o as_o follow_v in_o this_o scripture_n which_o burn_v we_o have_v former_o conceive_v to_o be_v the_o utter_a consummation_n of_o this_o visible_a earth_n in_o which_o we_o live_v but_o now_o we_o find_v it_o otherwise_o in_o that_o the_o book_n which_o be_v seal_v begin_v now_o to_o be_v open_v even_o that_o which_o be_v hide_v from_o the_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n and_o christ_n himself_o as_o man_n who_o speak_v judgement_n of_o god_n to_o make_v a_o fruitful_a land_n barren_a for_o the_o sin_n of_o they_o that_o dwell_v in_o it_o and_o so_o we_o can_v find_v in_o scripture_n that_o this_o visible_a heaven_n and_o earth_n be_v to_o have_v a_o end_n for_o we_o find_v to_o the_o contrary_a that_o they_o be_v to_o continue_v as_o in_o jer._n 33._o 25._o and_o 35._o 36._o and_o likewise_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o psalm_n and_o in_o ecclesiastes_n that_o the_o earth_n endure_v for_o ever_o and_o so_o where_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o heaven_n and_o earth_n that_o now_o be_v be_v keep_v by_o the_o heaven_n and_o earth_n which_o now_o be_v be_v to_o be_v understand_v in_o a_o spiritual_a sense_n as_o the_o heaven_n to_o be_v the_o glorious_a ordinance_n wherein_o god_n have_v appear_v and_o the_o earth_n to_o be_v wisdom_n and_o gift_n and_o the_o like_a these_o heaven_n and_o earth_n be_v to_o be_v reserve_v to_o fire_n against_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n of_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a man_n unto_o this_o some_o may_v object_v how_o can_v this_o heaven_n and_o earth_n you_o speak_v of_o be_v reserve_v to_o fire_n for_o the_o destruction_n of_o wicked_a
so_o after_o that_o the_o glorious_a state_n of_o the_o church_n follow_v other_o likewise_o do_v conceive_v that_o the_o jew_n shall_v be_v convert_v to_o the_o faith_n before_o the_o end_n and_o so_o concerning_o the_o glorious_a state_n of_o the_o church_n most_o conceive_v it_o in_o a_o spiritual_a sense_n yet_o some_o do_v not_o deny_v but_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o temporal_a power_n which_o shall_v go_v forth_o from_o the_o saint_n as_o in_o revel._n 2._o 16_o 17._o and_o psal._n 2._o which_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o saint_n that_o be_v begin_v even_o here_o in_o babylon_n among_o their_o implacable_a enemy_n as_o mic._n 4._o from_o vers._n 8._o unto_o the_o end_n dan._n 2._o 41._o now_o i_o shall_v not_o undertake_v to_o confute_v any_o of_o these_o reveâ—_z 20._o all_o which_o scripture_n and_o many_o more_o speak_v of_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n and_o unto_o this_o i_o will_v assent_v in_o that_o i_o do_v very_o believe_v that_o the_o glorious_a state_n of_o the_o church_n shall_v not_o be_v until_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v fulfil_v which_o be_v speak_v in_o these_o scripture_n as_o our_o saviour_n say_v heaven_n and_o earth_n from_o all_o eternity_n so_o this_o word_n of_o god_n continue_v to_o all_o eternity_n and_o sure_o this_o word_n begin_v to_o be_v manifest_v in_o the_o saint_n 1_o joh._n 4._o though_o it_o have_v be_v a_o long_a time_n hide_v howsoever_o though_o i_o do_v join_v in_o this_o that_o the_o glorious_a state_n of_o the_o church_n shall_v not_o be_v till_o these_o visible_a thing_n be_v pass_v away_o yet_o i_o differ_v from_o they_o in_o the_o matter_n which_o shall_v pass_v away_o and_o in_o the_o manner_n how_o it_o shall_v pass_v away_o and_o by_o what_o mean_v it_o shall_v pass_v away_o now_o that_o matter_n which_o shall_v pass_v away_o be_v general_o conceive_v to_o be_v this_o visible_a heaven_n and_o earth_n at_o the_o last_o day_n and_o by_o what_o mean_n by_o fire_n and_o in_o what_o manner_n it_o be_v make_v forth_o at_o large_a 2_o pet._n 3._o where_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o day_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v come_v as_o a_o thief_n in_o the_o night_n wherein_o the_o heaven_n shall_v pass_v away_o with_o a_o great_a noise_n and_o the_o element_n shall_v melt_v with_o fervent_a heat_n and_o the_o earth_n with_o the_o work_n therein_o shall_v be_v burn_v up_o now_o i_o say_v i_o do_v differ_v in_o all_o these_o particular_n in_o some_o sense_n for_o i_o differ_v first_o in_o the_o matter_n which_o shall_v pass_v away_o for_o i_o do_v not_o conceive_v that_o these_o visible_a heaven_n shall_v be_v dissolve_v and_o so_o consequent_o of_o that_o which_o follow_v unto_o this_o some_o may_v reply_v do_v not_o the_o apostle_n peter_n speak_v plain_o that_o the_o heaven_n and_o earth_n be_v reserve_v to_o fire_n against_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n and_o perdition_n of_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a man_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v if_o you_o do_v observe_v the_o apostle_n peter_n in_o the_o word_n forego_v you_o shall_v find_v that_o he_o make_v distinction_n between_o the_o world_n that_o perish_v by_o water_n and_o the_o heaven_n and_o earth_n which_o conclude_v that_o these_o scripture_n which_o we_o have_v former_o conceive_v to_o concern_v the_o dissolution_n of_o this_o visible_a heaven_n and_o earth_n do_v only_o concern_v the_o pass_v away_o of_o the_o ordinance_n which_o be_v that_o heaven_n wherein_o god_n have_v appear_v glorious_o unto_o the_o unspeakable_a consolation_n of_o the_o saint_n and_o this_o earth_n here_o speak_v of_o be_v the_o best_a part_n of_o man_n as_o his_o natural_a wisdom_n and_o human_a learning_n and_o gift_n not_o only_o common_a gift_n but_o spiritual_a gift_n whereby_o they_o be_v enable_v to_o speak_v unto_o edification_n which_o may_v be_v comprehend_v under_o the_o same_o notion_n for_o the_o apostle_n speak_v as_o if_o the_o wicked_a may_v have_v the_o common_a gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n now_o those_o gift_n that_o the_o saint_n have_v be_v carry_v forth_o in_o of_o late_a do_v evident_o appear_v to_o be_v that_o element_n which_o melt_v with_o servant_n heat_n but_o here_o you_o may_v observe_v that_o though_o heaven_n in_o our_o sense_n be_v thus_o on_o fire_n 2_o pet._n 3._o 12._o yet_o it_o be_v but_o dissolve_v and_o the_o element_n be_v but_o melt_v only_o here_o be_v a_o difference_n between_o heaven_n and_o the_o element_n for_o heaven_n only_o cease_v to_o be_v in_o that_o manner_n as_o it_o be_v in_o gross_a yet_o there_o be_v no_o alteration_n in_o the_o nature_n of_o it_o as_o when_o we_o say_v the_o parliament_n be_v dissolve_v the_o man_n continue_v the_o same_o only_o it_o cease_v to_o be_v a_o body_n politic_a and_o likewise_o our_o precious_a cordial_n as_o bezer_n be_v not_o effectual_a to_o our_o good_a until_o they_o be_v dissolve_v into_o some_o liquid_a matter_n so_o god_n who_o be_v our_o heaven_n in_o the_o ordinance_n for_o there_o can_v be_v no_o heaven_n without_o he_o and_o so_o when_o god_n which_o be_v our_o heaven_n shall_v be_v thus_o dissolve_v and_o cease_v be_v cover_v with_o a_o veil_n than_o this_o veil_n shall_v vanish_v away_o like_o smoke_n which_o veil_n be_v the_o ordinance_n and_o heaven_n be_v dissolve_v the_o saint_n be_v in_o a_o capacity_n to_o contain_v this_o heaven_n in_o the_o flesh_n and_o sure_o god_n who_o be_v our_o heaven_n shall_v appear_v in_o the_o flesh_n of_o all_o his_o saint_n short_o in_o his_o glorious_a manifestation_n for_o as_o the_o apostle_n peter_n say_v we_o according_a to_o his_o promise_n look_v for_o a_o new_a heaven_n and_o a_o new_a earth_n wherein_o dwell_v righteousness_n which_o be_v not_o a_o heaven_n without_o we_o as_o before_o in_o the_o ordinance_n and_o the_o teach_n of_o man_n but_o it_o be_v a_o heaven_n within_o we_o even_o god_n manifest_v in_o the_o flesh_n of_o his_o saint_n as_o in_o the_o humanity_n of_o christ_n now_o the_o saint_n stand_v in_o the_o same_o relation_n to_o god_n as_o our_o elder_a brother_n christ_n whilst_o they_o be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o imperfection_n as_o john_n say_v we_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n but_o it_o heaven_n shall_v be_v shake_v and_o the_o earth_n shall_v be_v remove_v out_o of_o his_o place_n in_o the_o wrath_n of_o the_o lord_n isa._n 13._o 13_o 14._o heb._n 12_o god_n say_v that_o once_o more_o i_o will_v not_o shake_v earth_n only_o but_o also_o heaven_n now_o this_o once_o more_o signify_v the_o remove_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v shake_v that_o the_o thing_n which_o can_v
