mention_n of_o necessity_n for_o there_o be_v one_o unavoidable_a necessity_n not_o to_o offend_v god._n moreover_n this_o i_o say_v that_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n we_o may_v cut_v off_o superfluous_a oath_n those_o i_o mean_v which_o be_v make_v rash_o and_o without_o any_o necessity_n among_o friend_n and_o servant_n and_o if_o thou_o take_v away_o these_o in_o the_o other_o thou_o shall_v need_v i_o no_o more_o for_o that_o mouth_n which_o have_v learned_a to_o fear_v and_o flee_v a_o oath_n if_o any_o will_v compel_v it_o ten_o thousand_o time_n it_o will_v never_o admit_v of_o fall_v into_o that_o custom_n etc._n etc._n oath_n but_o if_o thou_o fear_v nothing_o else_o at_o least_o fear_v that_o book_n which_o thou_o take_v in_o thy_o hand_n bid_v another_o to_o swear_v and_o when_o thou_o turn_v it_o and_o markst_a what_o christ_n have_v there_o command_v concern_v oath_n swear_v quake_n &_o forbear_v what_o do_v it_o say_v then_o of_o oath_n there_o answ_n but_o like_a occasion_n thou_o will_v keep_v none_o of_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v command_v for_o thou_o may_v also_o say_v it_o concern_v thy_o wife_n what_o if_o she_o be_v a_o scold_n what_o if_o she_o be_v nice_a and_o curious_a and_o of_o thy_o right_a eye_n what_o if_o i_o have_v a_o delight_n in_o it_o and_o be_v inflame_v with_o the_o love_n of_o it_o &_o c._n and_o so_o thou_o will_v trample_v upon_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v command_v but_o in_o the_o law_n which_o man_n command_v thou_o dare_v allege_v no_o such_o thing_n as_o what_o if_o this_o or_o that_o &_o c_o and_o if_o thou_o will_v keep_v the_o law_n of_o christ_n thou_o will_v not_o suffer_v any_o compulsion_n to_o hinder_v thou_o from_o the_o observation_n thereof_o veneration_n for_o he_o that_o hear_v the_o blessedness_n that_o be_v before_o in_o the_o same_o sermon_n and_o show_v himself_o such_o a_o one_o as_o christ_n commend_v he_o shall_v suffer_v no_o such_o compulsion_n from_o any_o see_v he_o be_v venerable_a and_o admirable_a with_o all_o men._n object_n what_o then_o shall_v we_o say_v be_v beyond_o yea_o and_o nay_o a._n without_o doubt_v a_o oath_n not_o perjury_n since_o this_o be_v altogether_o manifest_a and_o none_o needs_o be_v teach_v that_o it_o be_v of_o evil_a and_o not_o so_o much_o superfluous_a as_o altogether_o contrary_a now_o rea●on_n that_o be_v superfluous_a which_o be_v add_v needless_o and_o too_o much_o which_o sure_o be_v a_o oath_n object_n why_o then_o shall_v this_o be_v say_v to_o be_v of_o evil_a and_o if_o it_o be_v of_o evil_a how_o be_v it_o command_v in_o the_o law_n a._n thou_o will_v say_v that_o also_o concern_v thy_o wife_n how_o be_v it_o now_o adultery_n which_o be_v sometime_o suffer_v what_o then_o shall_v we_o say_v to_o these_o thing_n but_o that_o many_o of_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v then_o speak_v the_o weakness_n of_o they_o that_o receive_v the_o law_n require_v for_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n very_o unmeet_a for_o god_n to_o be_v worship_v with_o the_o smell_n of_o sacrifice_n even_o as_o it_o be_v not_o congruent_a for_o a_o philosopher_n to_o stutter_v and_o babble_n therefore_o such_o a_o divorce_n be_v now_o call_v adultery_n doctrine_n and_o a_o oath_n now_o come_v of_o evil_a when_o the_o increasing_n of_o virtue_n be_v come_v to_o their_o perfection_n but_o if_o these_o thing_n have_v be_v the_o law_n of_o the_o devil_n from_o the_o beginning_n they_o have_v never_o come_v to_o such_o proficiency_n for_o unless_o those_o thing_n have_v go_v before_o those_o other_o have_v never_o be_v so_o easy_o receive_v do_v not_o therefore_o desire_v the_o virtue_n of_o those_o thing_n who_o use_n be_v now_o past_a penalty_n they_o be_v available_a indeed_o then_o when_o the_o time_n require_v yea_o if_o thou_o please_v now_o also_o for_o now_o their_o virtue_n be_v show_v in_o that_o same_o thing_n also_o wherein_o we_o most_o accuse_v for_o that_o they_o now_o appear_v such_o

he_o will_v swear_v well_o avoid_v it_o or_o if_o thou_o think_v he_o will_v swear_v amiss_o avoid_v it_o so_o much_o the_o rather_o for_o although_o he_o swear_v well_o yet_o thou_o as_o far_o as_o relate_v to_o thy_o conscience_n be_v become_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o perjury_n because_o thou_o compelle_v he_o to_o take_v a_o oath_n with_o this_o intention_n not_o bare_o that_o he_o shall_v swear_v but_o that_o he_o shall_v forswear_v for_o if_o thou_o have_v think_v he_o will_v have_v swear_v honest_o thou_o will_v not_o have_v force_v he_o to_o swear_v at_o all_o oh_o foolish_a man_n that_o compelle_v another_o to_o swear_v thou_o know_v not_o what_o thou_o do_v he_o although_o he_o forswear_v himself_o yet_o do_v it_o with_o advantage_n but_o thou_o without_o any_o advantage_n truth_n itself_o this_o be_v the_o only_a difference_n that_o when_o we_o lie_v we_o pass_v over_o the_o truth_n in_o our_o heart_n but_o when_o we_o forswear_v we_o pass_v over_o god_n in_o word_n for_o to_o man_n we_o give_v satisfaction_n by_o word_n to_o god_n by_o conscience_n god_n himself_o who_o forbid_v forswear_n even_o he_o afterward_o command_v not_o to_o swear_v he_o therefore_o that_o be_v not_o afraid_a to_o set_v light_n by_o the_o command_v of_o god_n in_o swear_v argue_v will_v not_o be_v afraid_a to_o do_v the_o like_a in_o forswear_n but_o what_o will_v thou_o have_v do_v he_o fear_v god_n or_o do_v he_o not_o fear_v he_o if_o he_o be_v one_o that_o fear_v god_n he_o will_v not_o lie_v though_o he_o be_v not_o swear_v but_o if_o he_o be_v one_o that_o do_v not_o fear_n god_n he_o can_v speak_v truth_n though_o he_o be_v swear_v hear_v you_o clergyman_n on_o who_o bring_v the_o holy_a gospel_n for_o man_n to_o swear_v upon_o how_o can_v you_o be_v secure_a from_o that_o oath_n who_o sow_v the_o seed_n of_o perjury_n he_o that_o bring_v the_o fire_n by_o which_o a_o house_n be_v burn_v be_v he_o a_o stranger_n to_o the_o burn_v or_o who_o reach_v a_o sword_n whereby_o a_o man_n be_v slay_v be_v not_o he_o a_o accessary_a to_o the_o slaughter_n so_o he_o that_o give_v the_o opportunity_n of_o forswear_n be_v a_o partaker_n of_o the_o perjury_n if_o it_o be_v well_o do_v to_o swear_v you_o say_v right_o that_o we_o give_v they_o the_o gospel_n to_o swear_v not_o to_o forswear_v but_o now_o you_o know_v that_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n even_o to_o swear_v well_o how_o can_v you_o be_v acquit_v that_o give_v the_o occasion_n of_o sin_v against_o god_n let_v the_o fire_n cease_v and_o there_o be_v no_o burn_v take_v away_o the_o sword_n and_o the_o man_n be_v not_o slay_v so_o take_v away_o swear_v and_o there_o be_v no_o forswear_n be_v these_o thing_n speak_v of_o they_o that_o swear_v by_o god_n but_o as_o for_o they_o that_o swear_v by_o the_o element_n their_o iniquity_n be_v more_o detestable_a for_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o element_n god_n make_v for_o his_o own_o service_n not_o for_o man_n to_o second_o he_o be_v in_o the_o same_o crime_n who_o receive_v a_o oath_n if_o he_o draw_v god_n to_o be_v a_o surety_n for_o contract_n and_o say_v that_o he_o will_v not_o tru_v except_o he_o have_v he_o oh_o monstruous_a thing_n oh_o shameful_a disgrace_n thou_o a_o worm_n dust_n and_o ash_n and_o a_o vapour_n dare_v thou_o snatch_v thy_o lord_n who_o be_v such_o a_o one_o for_o a_o surety_n swear_v and_o compelle_v to_o accept_v he_o tell_v i_o if_o a_o fellow-servant_n shall_v say_v to_o your_o child_n strive_v among_o themselves_o and_o not_o trust_v one_o another_o unless_o the_o
