but_o of_o that_o i_o shall_v speak_v something_o by_o god_n assistance_n in_o the_o further_a prosecution_n of_o the_o text._n sermon_n ii_o jeremiah_n chap._n 24._o verse_n 5._o thus_o say_v the_o lord_n the_o god_n of_o israel_n like_o these_o good_a fig_n so_o will_v i_o acknowledge_v they_o that_o be_v carry_v away_o captive_a of_o judah_n who_o i_o have_v send_v out_o of_o this_o place_n first_o the_o explication_n of_o a_o type_n and_o then_o the_o application_n of_o it_o the_o explication_n of_o a_o type_n in_o these_o word_n like_o these_o good_a fig_n where_o the_o lord_n inform_v the_o prophet_n jeremiah_n what_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o vision_n of_o the_o two_o basket_n of_o fig_n the_o one_o of_o good_a fig_n the_o other_o of_o bad_a fig_n like_o these_o good_a fig_n say_v god_n so_o be_v all_o those_o good_a or_o godly_a person_n who_o i_o have_v send_v away_o captive_a into_o babylon_n so_o that_o god_n here_o compare_v the_o small_a number_n of_o godly_a one_o that_o be_v yet_o carry_v captive_a to_o babylon_n to_o fig_n and_o he_o compare_v they_o to_o good_a figs._n but_o here_o it_o may_v be_v demand_v first_o why_o be_v these_o godly_a person_n compare_v to_o fig_n i_o answer_v for_o these_o three_o reason_n brief_o first_o because_o all_o the_o goodness_n they_o have_v in_o they_o be_v of_o god_n own_o plan_v isa_n 60.21_o the_o branch_n of_o my_o plant_n the_o work_n of_o my_o hand_n that_o i_o may_v be_v glorify_v second_o they_o be_v compare_v to_o fig_n because_o as_o fig_n you_o know_v ever_o grow_v more_o and_o more_o till_o they_o come_v to_o a_o ripeness_n and_o maturity_n that_o they_o may_v be_v fit_a for_o the_o gardener_n that_o plant_v they_o so_o do_v these_o godly_a person_n grow_v more_o and_o more_o in_o grace_n till_o they_o come_v to_o some_o ripeness_n and_o maturity_n that_o they_o may_v be_v fit_a for_o the_o service_n of_o that_o god_n who_o have_v bestow_v this_o grace_n upon_o they_o fit_a to_o glorify_v he_o here_o and_o fit_a to_o be_v glorify_v of_o he_o hereafter_o and_o then_o three_o as_o fig_n when_o they_o be_v ripe_a they_o be_v very_o pleasant_a and_o delightful_a they_o be_v much_o esteem_v and_o desire_v among_o the_o jew_n as_o appear_v by_o hosea_n 9.10_o i_o see_v your_o father_n say_v god_n as_o the_o first_o ripe_a in_o the_o fig_n tree_n so_o likewise_o these_o godly_a person_n that_o have_v the_o image_n of_o god_n stamp_v upon_o they_o and_o be_v now_o tree_n of_o rightenousness_n that_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n unto_o god_n they_o be_v very_o delightful_a may_v be_v humble_a and_o it_o be_v better_a a_o thousand_o time_n to_o be_v poor_a in_o the_o world_n and_o rich_a in_o grace_n than_o to_o be_v rich_a in_o the_o world_n and_o poor_a in_o garce_o
