get_v a_o sight_n of_o nor_o can_v the_o swinish_a voluptuous_a sinner_n that_o feed_v upon_o none_o but_o the_o muddy_a delight_n of_o sense_n take_v any_o comfort_n in_o the_o forethought_n of_o pure_a and_o spiritual_a pleasure_n such_o as_o be_v prepare_v for_o exalt_a purify_a soul_n any_o whoever_o they_o be_v that_o place_n their_o chief_a conâ—entment_n on_o earth_n be_v not_o like_a with_o any_o pleasure_n to_o think_v of_o that_o time_n when_o they_o must_v leave_v this_o earth_n and_o enter_v upon_o another_o state_n where_o be_v no_o such_o sensual_a enjoyment_n as_o here_o they_o blessed_v themselves_o in_o ignorant_n narrow_a soul_n have_v no_o heart_n to_o think_v of_o what_o shall_v be_v thousand_o and_o million_o of_o year_n to_o come_v these_o poor_a sordid_a spirit_n be_v so_o glue_v to_o the_o little_a trifle_n of_o the_o world_n that_o they_o look_v not_o so_o high_a as_o after_o crown_n and_o sceptre_n which_o christ_n have_v in_o store_n for_o his_o faithful_a follower_n and_o they_o who_o never_o take_v much_o pain_n to_o secure_v or_o clear_v up_o their_o evidence_n for_o heaven_n but_o have_v take_v it_o for_o grant_v that_o they_o must_v needs_o go_v thither_o at_o last_o or_o count_v it_o a_o indifferent_a thing_n whether_o they_o do_v or_o not_o will_v be_v far_o from_o those_o lively_a apprehension_n of_o the_o greatness_n of_o that_o love_n which_o purchase_v it_o and_o of_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o bliss_n itself_o which_o be_v necessary_a for_o he_o who_o can_v right_o remember_v either_o now_o to_o bring_v those_o who_o be_v yet_o stranger_n hereto_o to_o such_o a_o apprehension_n of_o the_o glory_n to_o come_v by_o christ_n that_o they_o may_v choose_v it_o as_o their_o portion_n and_o so_o be_v joyful_o take_v up_o in_o the_o expectation_n thereof_o in_o one_o word_n i_o will_v desire_v thou_o whoever_o thou_o be_v that_o have_v but_o so_o much_o common_a reason_n as_o to_o distinguish_v between_o good_a and_o evil_n to_o consider_v well_o whether_o thou_o have_v not_o
a_o souâ—_n as_o well_o as_o a_o body_n and_o whether_o this_o soul_n must_v not_o remain_v in_o be_v and_o alive_a when_o thy_o body_n be_v rot_v in_o the_o earth_n and_o whether_o then_o it_o do_v not_o as_o much_o yea_o infinite_o much_o more_o concern_v thou_o to_o seek_v out_o for_o somewhat_o that_o may_v at_o that_o time_n make_v thy_o soul_n happy_a than_o for_o what_o may_v now_o please_v thy_o sense_n yea_o since_o thou_o must_v live_v somewhere_o for_o ever_o think_v whether_o it_o be_v not_o more_o worthy_a thy_o care_n to_o provide_v for_o a_o everlasting_a well-being_n than_o for_o the_o comfort_n of_o a_o frail_a short_a life_n if_o thou_o be_v thus_o far_o convince_v then_o make_v a_o impartial_a search_n whether_o there_o be_v any_o thing_n here_o below_o that_o be_v able_a to_o make_v thou_o perfect_o happy_a thy_o house_n and_o land_n thy_o pleasure_n and_o honour_n will_v any_o or_o all_o of_o these_o give_v in_o all_o that_o felicity_n which_o thou_o desire_v or_o need_v be_v they_o of_o the_o same_o nature_n with_o thy_o soul_n or_o will_v they_o last_v as_o long_o as_o it_o will_v last_v must_v not_o all_o thy_o merry_a day_n at_o length_n come_v to_o a_o end_n and_o will_v thou_o be_v ever_o the_o better_a for_o all_o thou_o have_v enjoy_v when_o once_o it_o be_v over_z will_v the_o remembrance_n give_v thou_o any_o satisfaction_n in_o that_o night_n wherein_o thy_o soul_n will_v be_v require_v of_o thou_o what_o advantage_n will_v thou_o have_v from_o the_o good_n thou_o have_v lay_v up_o for_o many_o year_n yea_o or_o from_o those_o good_n thou_o have_v live_v upon_o the_o year_n before_o when_o the_o earth_n and_o all_o its_o work_n shall_v be_v burn_v up_o where_o will_v all_o thy_o possession_n and_o treasure_n be_v if_o thou_o have_v nothing_o to_o live_v on_o but_o what_o will_v be_v turn_v into_o flame_n what_o will_v thou_o then_o fix_v upon_o at_o that_o day_n when_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o marry_v or_o give_v in_o marriage_n no_o wife_n or_o child_n no_o relation_n or_o friend_n who_o society_n will_v afford_v any_o such_o comfort_n as_o here_o it_o do_v when_o the_o interest_n of_o prince_n and_o great_a one_o who_o favour_n be_v here_o thy_o shelter_n and_o thy_o pride_n shall_v all_o be_v vanish_v what_o will_v thy_o confidence_n in_o man_n avail_v thou_o examine_v these_o or_o any_o other_o outward_a prop_n whereon_o thou_o lean_v and_o see_v whether_o it_o be_v not_o a_o break_a reed_n and_o if_o so_o except_o thou_o be_v resolve_v against_o thy_o own_o happiness_n methinks_v thou_o shall_v now_o only_o make_v choice_n of_o that_o which_o will_v never_o give_v thou_o cause_n to_o repent_v what_o thou_o do_v as_o all_o thing_n will_v but_o the_o eternal_a glory_n which_o god_n consequence_n will_v be_v fit_v to_o celebrate_v the_o sacrament_n chap._n ix_o v._o it_o must_v be_v a_o thankful_a remembrance_n it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n can_v be_v remember_v as_o it_o ought_v without_o the_o most_o hearty_a and_o unfeigned_a thankfulness_n to_o god_n for_o so_o great_a and_o glorious_a a_o mercy_n have_v he_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o man_n thanks_o and_o praise_n to_o god_n for_o his_o gracious_a deal_n with_o mankind_n this_o duty_n be_v so_o proper_a to_o the_o lord_n supper_n that_o hence_o it_o ancient_o obtain_v the_o name_n of_o eucharist_n a_o return_n of_o thanks_o since_o then_o every_o man_n who_o partake_v thereof_o aught_o to_o be_v thus_o true_o thankful_a to_o god_n for_o his_o love_n reveal_v in_o christ_n this_o how_o formal_a and_o hypocritical_a be_v his_o thanks_o like_v to_o be_v for_o christ_n who_o never_o yet_o see_v what_o need_v he_o stand_v in_o of_o he_o will_v he_o thank_v you_o for_o a_o plaster_n who_o never_o feel_v himself_o wound_v can_v he_o have_v any_o grateful_a sense_n of_o the_o love_n that_o pluck_v poor_a sinner_n as_o brand_n out_o of_o the_o fire_n who_o never_o perceive_v himself_o in_o any_o such_o danger_n can_v he_o be_v thankful_a for_o ease_n and_o rest_n who_o never_o feel_v his_o strong_a lust_n nor_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o law_n and_o wrath_n of_o god_n as_o any_o load_n or_o burden_n upon_o he_o nor_o can_v he_o be_v thankful_a for_o the_o grace_n that_o be_v give_v by_o christ_n who_o have_v far_o rather_o keep_v his_o sin_n than_o be_v renew_v and_o sanctify_a little_a thanks_o will_v he_o return_v for_o the_o light_n who_o be_v but_o disturb_v and_o trouble_v with_o it_o and_o so_o far_o shame_v by_o it_o that_o he_o can_v pursue_v his_o wicked_a design_n with_o that_o freedom_n and_o eagerness_n as_o he_o can_v before_o whilst_o he_o be_v more_o in_o the_o dark_a where_o he_o have_v still_o rather_o remain_v how_o can_v he_o thank_v god_n for_o grace_n who_o reject_v and_o despise_v it_o for_o be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o snare_n of_o the_o devil_n who_o wilful_o fasten_v himself_o into_o they_o will_v he_o praise_v god_n for_o liberty_n and_o ability_n to_o serve_v he_o who_o say_v of_o his_o service_n what_o a_o weariness_n be_v it_o and_o think_v it_o will_v be_v better_o for_o he_o if_o he_o may_v live_v as_o he_o list_v and_o never_o be_v put_v upon_o so_o much_o trouble_v as_o godliness_n bring_v along_o with_o it_o nor_o can_v he_o be_v thankful_a for_o the_o glory_n to_o be_v have_v by_o christ_n who_o have_v not_o a_o sound_a persuasion_n of_o the_o certainty_n and_o excellency_n of_o it_o and_o who_o have_v not_o firm_o resolve_v to_o take_v it_o for_o his_o portion_n he_o that_o know_v nothing_o better_a than_o bodily_a enjoyment_n and_o will_v think_v himself_o undo_v be_v he_o strip_v of_o these_o be_v like_a to_o be_v very_o cold_a in_o give_v thanks_o for_o spiritual_a blessing_n in_o a_o word_n he_o that_o be_v sensible_a of_o no_o great_a benefit_n he_o shall_v have_v by_o christ_n either_o here_o or_o hereafter_o can_v be_v expect_v to_o have_v any_o great_a measure_n of_o
