of_o god_n and_o his_o righteousness_n which_o can_v never_o happy_o be_v do_v till_o they_o be_v first_o dissuade_v and_o prevail_v with_o from_o self-seeking_a self-pleasing_a flesh-pleasing_a for_o the_o satisfy_n whereof_o earthly_a thing_n be_v mind_v and_o seek_v after_o inordinate_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v the_o wisdom_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n before_o he_o persuade_v to_o the_o seek_v of_o spiritual_a and_o heavenly_a thing_n by_o reason_n argument_n motive_n and_o dissuasion_n to_o free_v the_o mind_n and_o heart_n and_o affection_n of_o his_o hearer_n from_o their_o anxious_a and_o troublesome_a thought_n fear_n and_o care_n concern_v carnal_a and_o earthly_a thing_n pertain_v to_o the_o body_n namely_o what_o they_o shall_v eat_v what_o they_o shall_v drink_v and_o what_o they_o shall_v put_v on_o take_v no_o thought_n for_o your_o life_n be_v not_o the_o life_n more_o than_o meat_n and_o the_o body_n than_o raiment_n your_o heavenly_a father_n feed_v the_o fowl_n of_o the_o air_n be_v not_o you_o much_o better_a than_o they_o why_o take_v you_o think_v for_o raiment_n consider_v the_o lily_n of_o the_o field_n if_o god_n
peculiar_a bosom_n belove_v sin_n search_v out_o your_o own_o sin_n keep_v yourself_o from_o your_o iniquity_n if_o you_o will_v have_v good_a success_n in_o seek_v first_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n insist_v upon_o but_o too_o seldom_o due_o practise_v as_o namely_o 1._o hear_v the_o word_n preach_v in_o season_n and_o out_o of_o season_n instant_o as_o minister_n be_v to_o preach_v it_o with_o solemn_a preparation_n intention_n retention_n and_o a_o love_a affection_n in_o the_o hear_n of_o it_o turn_v every_o truth_n and_o duty_n you_o hear_v into_o practice_n without_o delay_n for_o not_o the_o hearer_n of_o the_o law_n but_o the_o doer_n be_v justify_v and_o bless_v in_o their_o do_v 2._o frequent_v fast_v frequent_a pray_v and_o watch_v thereunto_o with_o all_o perseverance_n and_o supplication_n for_o all_o man_n that_o they_o may_v be_v save_v and_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n which_o be_v our_o strive_v to_o enter_v in_o at_o the_o strait_a gate_n strait_n be_v the_o gate_n and_o narrow_a be_v the_o way_n which_o lead_v unto_o life_n and_o few_o there_o be_v that_o find_v it_o even_o of_o they_o who_o seek_v to_o enter_v in_o and_o be_v not_o able_a because_o not_o willing_a to_o be_v at_o the_o pain_n and_o patience_n which_o be_v necessary_a to_o the_o find_v the_o narrow_a way_n and_o walk_v in_o it_o till_o they_o be_v meet_v and_o worthy_a to_o enter_v in_o at_o the_o strait_a gate_n there_o be_v no_o pull_v down_o of_o strong_a hold_n cast_v down_o imagination_n or_o reason_n and_o every_o high_a thing_n that_o exalt_v itself_o against_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n or_o bring_v into_o captivity_n every_o thought_n to_o the_o obedience_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o law_n of_o his_o kingdom_n but_o by_o this_o good_a old_a way_n of_o fast_v pray_v and_o watch_v to_o purpose_n every_o man_n that_o strive_v for_o the_o mastery_n especial_o of_o spiritual_a enemy_n be_v to_o be_v temperate_a in_o all_o thing_n some_o do_v it_o to_o obtain_v a_o corruptible_a crown_n we_o a_o incorruptible_a if_o we_o will_v so_o run_v as_o to_o obtain_v so_o fight_v as_o to_o overcome_v we_o must_v keep_v under_o our_o body_n and_o bring_v it_o into_o subjection_n that_o our_o old_a man_n be_v crucify_v the_o body_n of_o sin_n may_v be_v destroy_v that_o henceforth_o we_o shall_v not_o serve_v sin_n lest_o that_o by_o of_o as_o know_v there_o be_v wisdom_n wealth_n and_o willingness_n power_n and_o prudence_n every_o way_n ability_n and_o opportunity_n in_o you_o our_o governor_n and_o counsellor_n for_o the_o accomplish_n and_o effect_v so_o great_a and_o good_a and_o necessary_a and_o pious_a a_o work_n beside_o the_o many_o thousand_o that_o wait_v for_o your_o call_n command_v counsel_n countenance_n and_o encouragement_n to_o assist_v herein_o which_o labour_n of_o love_n to_o so_o many_o perish_a soul_n will_v never_o be_v forget_v by_o the_o lord_n and_o the_o administration_n of_o this_o service_n will_v not_o only_o supply_v the_o want_n of_o saint_n but_o will_v be_v abundant_a also_o by_o many_o thanksgiving_n unto_o god_n now_o the_o lord_n make_v all_o public_a person_n in_o church_n and_o state_n public_a spirit_v herein_o that_o the_o fruit_n of_o righteousness_n may_v be_v sow_o in_o peace_n by_o they_o that_o make_v peace_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o the_o public_a good_n be_v the_o law_n and_o gospel_n which_o be_v not_o to_o depart_v out_o of_o our_o mouth_n read_v and_o meditate_a therein_o day_n and_o night_n by_o we_o all_o high_a and_o low_a rich_a and_o poor_a etc._n etc._n that_o we_o may_v observe_v to_o do_v according_a to_o all_o that_o be_v write_v therein_o this_o will_v make_v our_o way_n prosperous_a than_o we_o shall_v do_v
