it_o receive_v the_o lust_n and_o the_o lust_n make_v a_o hunger_n and_o the_o hunger_n receive_v strange_a essence_n into_o itself_o here_o now_o be_v the_o abominate_a and_o turba_n bear_v for_o this_o will_v be_v enter_v contrary_a to_o the_o course_n of_o nature_n into_o a_o strange_a essence_n which_o be_v not_o of_o its_o property_n this_o strange_a essence_n domineer_v now_o in_o the_o strange_a will_n and_o overcome_v the_o will_n now_o the_o will_n must_v either_o out_o cast_v it_o out_o or_o else_o it_o will_v itself_o be_v cast_v out_o by_o the_o strange_a essence_n and_o see_v a_o let_v and_o hindrance_n the_o true_a will_n enter_v into_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o his_o child_n it_o seek_v no_o form_n but_o fall_v down_o before_o its_o creator_n and_o desire_v the_o death_n of_o its_o false_a self-hood_n it_o seek_v the_o work_n of_o love_n towards_o all_o man_n it_o will_v not_o flourish_v in_o the_o world_n scorn_n but_o in_o its_o god_n its_o whole_a life_n be_v a_o mere_a repentance_n and_o a_o continual_a sorrow_n for_o the_o evil_n which_o cleave_v unto_o it_o it_o seek_v no_o glory_n or_o applause_n to_o show_v itself_o but_o live_v in_o humility_n it_o acknowledge_v itself_o always_o as_o unworthy_a and_o simple_a its_o true_a christianity_n be_v always_o hide_a to_o it_o in_o its_o self-hood_n he_o say_v i_o be_o in_o myself-hood_n a_o unprofitable_a servant_n and_o have_v not_o as_o yet_o begin_v to_o do_v or_o work_v repentance_n aright_o he_o be_v always_o in_o the_o beginning_n to_o work_v repentance_n and_o will_v always_o fain_o reach_v the_o gate_n of_o the_o sweet_a grace_n he_o labourech_v thereto_o as_o a_o woman_n in_o travel_n labour_v to_o bring_v forth_o and_o know_v not_o how_o it_o fare_v with_o he_o the_o lord_n hide_v his_o face_n from_o he_o that_o his_o work_n may_v be_v great_a towards_o he_o he_o sow_v in_o anguish_n and_o tear_n and_o know_v not_o his_o fruit_n for_o it_o be_v hide_v in_o god_n as_o a_o painful_a traveller_n go_v a_o long_a way_n aim_v at_o his_o wish_a for_o journey_n end_n so_o also_o he_o run_v after_o the_o far_a mark_n of_o his_o rest_n and_o find_v it_o not_o unless_o his_o pearl_n do_v appear_v unto_o he_o in_o its_o beauty_n and_o embrace_v he_o in_o its_o love_n if_o it_o again_o depart_v from_o his_o self-hood_n then_o arise_v sigh_v and_o sorrow_v again_o with_o continual_a desire_n and_o one_o day_n call_v another_o the_o day_n the_o night_n and_o the_o night_n the_o morning_n and_o yet_o there_o be_v no_o place_n of_o rest_n in_o the_o earthly_a self-hood_n save_v only_o in_o the_o fair_a solar_a lustre_n of_o his_o precious_a pearl_n when_o the_o sun_n arise_v to_o he_o in_o the_o darkness_n than_o the_o night_n depart_v and_o all_o sorrow_n and_o anguish_n fly_v away_o 33._o therefore_o dear_a brethren_n learn_v to_o take_v heed_n and_o beware_v of_o contention_n where_o man_n contend_v about_o the_o literal_a form_n a_o true_a christian_a have_v nothing_o to_o contend_v for_o for_o he_o die_v to_o his_o reason_n desire_n he_o desire_v only_a god_n knowledge_n in_o his_o love_n and_o grace_n and_o let_v all_o go_v which_o contend_v and_o strive_v about_o the_o form_n for_o christ_n spirit_n must_v make_v the_o form_n in_o himself_o the_o outward_a form_n be_v only_o a_o guide_n god_n must_v become_v man_n or_o else_o man_n become_v not_o god_n 34._o therefore_o a_o christian_a be_v the_o most_o simple_a or_o plain_a man_n upon_o the_o earth_n as_o esaias_n say_v who_o be_v so_o simple_a as_o my_o servant_n all_o heathen_n desire_v self-hood_n and_o do_v teaer_fw-mi and_o devour_v one_o another_o for_o the_o authority_n and_o honour_n but_o a_o true_a christian_a desire_v to_o die_v to_o they_o he_o seek_v not_o his_o own_o but_o christ_n honour_n all_o whatsoever_o contend_v about_o self-hood_n viz._n about_o the_o self_n full_a honour_n and_o pleasure_n of_o this_o life_n the_o same_o be_v heathenish_a and_o far_o worse_a than_o heathenish_a yea_o like_o the_o devil_n who_o depart_v from_o god_n into_o a_o self-fulness_n let_v it_o cover_v itself_o with_o christ_n mantle_n as_o much_o as_o ever_o it_o will_v yet_o the_o man_n of_o false_a self-hood_n be_v lodge_v under_o it_o if_o he_o will_v be_v a_o christian_n than_o he_o must_v quite_o die_v to_o self-hood_n that_o the_o same_o may_v only_o hang_v unto_o he_o from_o without_o as_o a_o garment_n of_o this_o world_n wherein_o he_o be_v a_o stranger_n and_o pilgrim_n and_o always_o consider_v and_o think_v that_o he_o be_v but_o a_o servant_n in_o his_o high_a office_n and_o serve_v god_n therein_o as_o a_o servant_n and_o not_o be_v his_o own_o lord_n and_o master_n 35._o all_o whatsoever_o do_v lord_n itself_o without_o god_n call_v and_o appointment_n the_o same_o be_v from_o the_o devil_n and_o serve_v the_o devil_n in_o his_o own_o power_n and_o form_n defend_v and_o flatter_v thyself_o as_o much_o as_o thou_o will_v it_o do_v not_o avail_v before_o god_n thy_o own_o heart_n accuse_v thou_o that_o thou_o be_v a_o false_a branch_n thy_o nobility_n and_o highness_n do_v not_o at_o all_o avail_n or_o help_v thou_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o thereby_o drive_v god_n order_n thy_o office_n be_v not_o thou_o but_o god_n if_o thou_o walk_v false_o therein_o than_o thy_o own_o
