LEt your light so shine before men that they may see your good workes and glorifie your Father which is in heauen ¶ Let vs pray for the whole state of Christes Church militant here in earth ALmightie and euerliuing God which by thy holy Apostle hast taught vs to make prayers and supplications and to giue thankes for all men we humbly beseech thee most mercifully to receiue these our prayers which wee offer vnto thy diuine Maiestie beseeching thee to inspire continually the vniuersall Church with the spirit of trueth vnitie and concord and graunt that all they that do confesse thy holy Name may agree in the trueth of thy holy word and liue in vnity and godly loue We beseech thee also to saue and defend all Christian Kings Princes and Gouernours and especially thy seruant Charles our King that vnder him we may be godly and quietly gouerned And grant vnto his whole Counsaile and to all that be put in authoritie vnder him that they may truely and indifferently minister iustice to the punishment of wickednesse and vice and to the maintenance of Gods true religion and vertue Giue grace O heauenly Father to all Bishops Pastours Curates that they may both by their life doctrine set forth thy true and liuely word and rightly and duely administer thy holy Sacraments And to all thy people giue thy heauenly grace and especially to this Congregation here present that with meeke heart and due reuerence they may heare and receiue thy holy word truly seruing thee in holinesse and righteousnesse all the dayes of their life And wee most humbly beseech thee of thy goodnesse O Lord to comfort and succour all them which in this transitory life bee in trouble sorrow neede sickenesse or any other aduersitie Graunt this O Father for Iesus Christs sake our onely Mediatour and Aduocate Amen O Lord our God Sonne of the eternall Father which vpholdest and gouernest all things in heauen and earth by the word of thy power receiue our humble prayers with thankesgiuing for our Soueraigne Lord King Charles set ouer vs by thy grace and prouidence to bee our King and Gouernour and so together with his Maiestie blesse our gracious Queene and the rest of his Royall alliance with the dew of thy heauenly Spirit that they euer trusting in thy goodnesse protected by thy power and crowned with thy gracious and endlesse fauour may continue before thee in health and peace ioy and honour a long and happy generation vpon earth and after death obtaine euerlasting life and glory in the Kingdome of heauen by thy merits and mediation who with the Father and the holy Spirit liuest and reignest euer one God world without end Amen ALmightie God which hast promised to heare the petitions of them that aske in thy Sonnes Name we beseech thee mercifully to incline thine eares to vs that haue made now our prayers and supplications vnto thee and graunt that those things which we haue faithfully asked according to thy will may effectually bee obtained to the reliefe of our necessitie and to the setting forth of thy glory through Iesus Christ our Lord.
