same_o unto_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n by_o some_o such_o fervent_a jaculatory_a aspiration_n as_o above_o to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o may_v vouchsafe_v to_o give_v his_o divine_a aid_n to_o perform_v the_o same_o of_o meditation_n prayer_n be_v usual_o divide_v into_o vocal_a and_o mental_a vocal_a be_v that_o which_o be_v articulate_v by_o the_o tongue_n but_o mental_a prayer_n be_v make_v by_o the_o mind_n or_o soul_n thereby_o to_o raise_v it_o self_n unto_o god_n be_v it_o by_o meditation_n that_o be_v by_o attentive_a ponder_v some_o divine_a mystery_n wherein_o the_o understanding_n be_v employ_v by_o discourse_n thereby_o to_o draw_v out_o some_o good_a affection_n by_o which_o to_o exercise_v the_o will_n upon_o good_a resolution_n to_o piety_n which_o be_v proper_o call_v meditation_n and_o consist_v in_o a_o devout_a cordial_a and_o affectuous_a consideration_n of_o holy_a thing_n which_o may_v move_v we_o to_o love_n and_o to_o bless_v almighty_a god_n and_o to_o imitate_v the_o virtue_n of_o our_o bless_a saviour_n and_o of_o his_o saint_n to_o embrace_v good_a and_o all_o virtue_n and_o to_o fly_v all_o evil_a and_o vice_n and_o it_o do_v powerful_o stir_v we_o up_o and_o put_v we_o on_o fervent_o to_o recur_v unto_o god_n in_o all_o our_o necessity_n neither_o be_v the_o simple_a and_o unlearned_a people_n to_o think_v that_o this_o mental_a prayer_n be_v too_o high_a a_o practice_n for_o often_o time_n the_o simple_a people_n speed_v best_a therein_o as_o god_n himself_o have_v testifyd_v by_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o sacred_a
