without_o guest_n meat_n but_o without_o eat_v drink_v but_o without_o drink_v a_o table_n but_o without_o sit_v down_o a_o participation_n but_o without_o any_o that_o be_v partaker_n a_o banquet_n but_o without_o seed_v thereat_o the_o people_n depart_v as_o hungry_a and_o thirsty_a as_o they_o come_v wherefore_o as_o no_o man_n celebrate_v the_o passeover_n aright_o or_o receive_v profit_n thereby_o but_o such_o as_o do_v eat_v the_o flesh_n thereof_o so_o can_v none_o come_v to_o the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o he_o ought_v though_o he_o look_v upon_o other_o except_o he_o eat_v of_o the_o bread_n and_o drink_n of_o the_o cup_n according_a to_o the_o commandment_n of_o christ_n the_o author_n thereof_o and_o thus_o much_o of_o the_o sole_a communion_n and_o private_a mass_n bring_v into_o the_o church_n against_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n against_o the_o use_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o against_o the_o name_n and_o nature_n of_o the_o sacrament_n itself_o hitherto_o we_o have_v pull_v down_o the_o heresy_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n and_o have_v rake_v in_o the_o dirt_n and_o dungh_n ill_a 5_o of_o their_o device_n the_o savour_n whereof_o have_v annoy_v heaven_n and_o earth_n now_o let_v we_o observe_v out_o of_o this_o last_o outward_a part_n of_o the_o sacrament_n how_o we_o be_v direct_v and_o instruct_v thereby_o to_o further_a our_o knowledge_n and_o obedience_n do_v christ_n command_v the_o faithful_a of_o his_o family_n to_o eat_v and_o drink_v that_o which_o he_o deliver_v without_o lay_v any_o further_a burden_n or_o bondage_n upon_o they_o then_o we_o must_v understand_v fast_v it_o be_v no_o precept_n of_o christ_n to_o receive_v the_o lord_n supper_n fast_v before_o any_o other_o meat_n and_o drink_n true_a it_o be_v the_o people_n who_o zeal_n go_v beyond_o their_o knowledge_n make_v a_o great_a scruple_n of_o conscience_n in_o this_o point_n to_o come_v fast_v 118._o which_o custom_n we_o do_v not_o condemn_v but_o commend_v so_o it_o be_v without_o superstition_n in_o themselves_o and_o judge_v of_o other_o but_o howsoever_o many_o make_v as_o great_a a_o matter_n to_o communicate_v fast_v as_o to_o come_v in_o faith_n yet_o this_o be_v no_o necessary_a rule_n or_o commandment_n bind_v the_o conscience_n to_o the_o observation_n thereof_o for_o the_o worde_n of_o god_n and_o institution_n of_o the_o sacrament_n be_v perfect_a direction_n to_o the_o church_n teach_v all_o matter_n of_o faith_n and_o obedience_n yet_o they_o teach_v no_o such_o practice_n and_o our_o bless_a saviour_n teach_v his_o disciple_n what_o they_o shall_v do_v the_o evangelist_n deliver_v what_o they_o do_v and_o among_o all_o their_o doctrine_n we_o find_v not_o this_o precept_n of_o fast_v again_o christ_n administer_v it_o not_o fast_v the_o apostle_n receive_v it_o not_o fast_v not_o that_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o celebrate_v the_o supper_n at_o that_o time_n but_o to_o show_v that_o christ_n will_v never_o have_v choose_v to_o do_v it_o after_o supper_n if_o that_o time_n have_v be_v simple_o unlawful_a beside_o
