and_o the_o same_o mercy_n shall_v crown_v we_o for_o evermore_o the_o nine_o and_o thirty_o sermon_n matth_n xxviv_n 25._o behold_v i_o have_v tell_v you_o before_o it_o be_v the_o observation_n of_o chrysostom_n that_o there_o be_v never_o any_o notable_a thing_n do_v in_o the_o world_n which_o be_v not_o foretell_v and_o of_o which_o there_o be_v not_o some_o prediction_n to_o usher_v it_o in_o and_o make_v way_n for_o it_o these_o thing_n have_v i_o tell_v you_o 16.4_o joh._n 16.4_o say_v our_o saviour_n to_o his_o disciple_n that_o when_o the_o time_n shall_v come_v you_o may_v remember_v that_o i_o tell_v you_o of_o they_o and_o in_o my_o text_n behold_v i_o have_v tell_v you_o before_o of_o the_o fearful_a sign_n which_o shall_v be_v the_o forerunner_n of_o jerusalem_n and_o of_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n which_o two_o be_v so_o interweave_v in_o the_o prediction_n that_o interpreter_n scarce_o know_v how_o to_o distinguish_v they_o behold_v i_o have_v tell_v you_o before_o that_o you_o may_v be_v ready_a with_o the_o whole_a armour_n of_o god_n that_o you_o may_v be_v able_a to_o withstand_v in_o the_o evil_a day_n that_o it_o come_v not_o upon_o you_o unaware_o but_o find_v you_o ready_a as_o those_o who_o have_v overcome_v it_o when_o it_o be_v yet_o afar_o off_o in_o its_o approach_n and_o pull_v out_o its_o sting_n and_o poison_n before_o it_o strike_v its_o terror_n into_o you_o our_o bless_a saviour_n here_o lay_v open_a to_o his_o disciple_n and_o in_o they_o to_o all_o succeed_a generation_n those_o evil_n which_o shall_v be_v the_o forerunner_n of_o his_o second_o come_v and_o of_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n as_o famine_n and_o pestilence_n and_o earthquake_n and_o war_n and_o fearful_a sight_n treacherous_a parent_n false_a brethren_n deceiful_a kinsfolk_n and_o friend_n worse_o than_o enemy_n that_o when_o these_o thing_n come_v to_o pass_v they_o may_v the_o less_o trouble_v we_o as_o dart_n which_o pierce_v not_o so_o deep_a when_o they_o be_v foresee_v do_v i_o say_v that_o they_o may_v the_o less_o trouble_v we_o nay_o this_o prediction_n must_v have_v a_o strong_a operation_n on_o we_o then_o so_o these_o fearful_a apparition_n must_v not_o trouble_v we_o but_o that_o be_v not_o enough_o we_o must_v make_v right_a use_n of_o they_o and_o by_o they_o be_v admonish_v to_o prepare_v and_o fit_v ourselves_o for_o christ_n second_o come_v they_o must_v be_v receive_v as_o messenger_n and_o servant_n to_o invite_v we_o to_o the_o great_a supper_n of_o the_o lamb._n in_o the_o word_n may_v it_o please_v you_o to_o observe_v with_o i_o three_o thing_n 1._o the_o person_n to_o who_o this_o prediction_n be_v make_v i_o have_v tell_v you_o 2._o the_o thing_n foretell_v mention_v in_o this_o chapter_n 3._o the_o end_n of_o the_o prediction_n or_o the_o reason_n why_o they_o be_v foretell_v that_o we_o may_v behold_v and_o consider_v they_o these_o three_o the_o person_n the_o thing_n and_o the_o end_n shall_v exercise_v your_o devotion_n at_o this_o time_n first_o for_o the_o person_n though_o these_o word_n be_v speak_v to_o the_o apostle_n yet_o if_o we_o look_v near_o upon_o they_o they_o will_v seem_v especial_o to_o concern_v we_o and_o if_o we_o reflect_v upon_o ourselves_o we_o shall_v find_v that_o we_o indeed_o be_v the_o man_n to_o who_o they_o be_v speak_v the_o apostle_n who_o receive_v they_o from_o the_o mouth_n of_o our_o saviour_n be_v but_o as_o cistern_n or_o water-pipe_n to_o convey_v they_o to_o we_o but_o we_o be_v the_o earth_n which_o must_v drink_v they_o in_o the_o apostle_n who_o be_v the_o hearer_n of_o they_o have_v many_o hundred_o year_n since_o resign_v up_o their_o soul_n to_o their_o almighty_a creator_n and_o be_v never_o earum_fw-la affine_n rerum_fw-la quas_fw-la fert_fw-la senecta_fw-la mundi_fw-la never_o have_v the_o knowledge_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v to_o accompany_v the_o decline_a age_n of_o the_o world_n not_o they_o therefore_o certain_o but_o we_o on_o who_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n be_v come_v be_v the_o natural_a hearer_n if_o not_o of_o this_o whole_a sermon_n yet_o of_o a_o great_a part_n of_o it_o namely_o of_o that_o which_o concern_v christ_n come_v to_o judgement_n nor_o can_v we_o think_v of_o it_o as_o of_o some_o strange_a thing_n that_o our_o saviour_n shall_v direct_v reason_n we_o shall_v for_o our_o saviour_n be_v god_n as_o well_o as_o man_n and_o it_o be_v not_o with_o god_n as_o it_o be_v with_o man._n with_o man_n who_o measure_v his_o action_n by_o time_n or_o who_o action_n be_v the_o measure_n of_o time_n for_o time_n be_v nothing_o but_o duration_n something_a be_v pass_v something_o present_a something_o to_o come_v but_o with_o god_n who_o call_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v not_o as_o if_o they_o be_v as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v 4.17_o rom._n 4.17_o there_o be_v no_o difference_n of_o time_n nothing_o past_a nothing_o to_o come_v all_o be_v present_a no_o such_o thing_n with_o he_o as_o first_o and_o last_o who_o be_v alpha_n and_o omega_n both_o first_o and_o last_o he_o that_o foretell_v thing_n to_o come_v it_o matter_v not_o see_v no_o more_o than_o the_o bound_n which_o be_v set_v we_o will_v give_v we_o leave_v and_o that_o which_o our_o wisdom_n or_o providence_n forsee_v when_o the_o eye_n thereof_o be_v clear_a be_v our_o saviour_n christ_n when_o he_o speak_v these_o word_n do_v a_o act_n of_o his_o godhead_n and_o speak_v to_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v not_o as_o if_o they_o be_v and_o to_o he_o when_o he_o give_v this_o warning_n be_v we_o as_o present_a as_o his_o disciple_n be_v who_o then_o hear_v he_o speak_v or_o as_o we_o ourselves_o now_o be_v and_o therefore_o in_o good_a congruity_n he_o may_v speak_v unto_o we_o how_o far_o soever_o remove_v we_o may_v think_v ourselves_o to_o be_v but_o that_o we_o may_v plain_o see_v that_o we_o be_v the_o man_n who_o these_o word_n most_o proper_o concern_v let_v we_o in_o the_o next_o place_n consider_v the_o thing_n foretell_v and_o when_o we_o find_v out_o those_o thing_n we_o shall_v see_v that_o tanquam_fw-la exserto_fw-la digito_fw-la every_o one_o of_o they_o as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o finger_n point_v out_o unto_o we_o and_o find_v they_o we_o shall_v if_o we_o look_v upon_o passage_n precedent_a and_o subsequent_a to_o the_o text._n for_o take_v the_o prediction_n literal_o or_o take_v they_o moral_o with_o that_o interpretation_n which_o be_v put_v upon_o they_o by_o the_o learned_a and_o we_o need_v not_o make_v any_o further_a enquiry_n after_o the_o person_n because_o they_o so_o near_o concern_v we_o look_v over_o this_o chapter_n and_o you_o shall_v find_v mention_n of_o deceiver_n and_o false_a prophet_n of_o
