apostle_n james_n be_v the_o peculiar_a bishop_n of_o that_o city_n yet_o in_o regard_n of_o the_o general_a charge_n that_o he_o have_v over_o the_o whole_a nation_n his_o most_o frequent_a abode_n be_v there_o for_o both_o the_o time_n that_o paul_n go_v to_o jerusalem_n both_o the_o three_o year_n after_o his_o conversion_n and_o fourteen_o year_n there_o after_o he_o find_v peter_n there_o yea_o that_o his_o chief_a residence_n be_v there_o at_o that_o time_n it_o be_v manifest_a by_o the_o apostle_n paul_n his_o resolution_n for_o he_o say_v galat._n 1.18_o that_o three_o year_n after_o his_o conversion_n he_o go_v to_o jerusalem_n to_o see_v peter_n and_o abode_n with_o he_o fifteen_o day_n the_o apostle_n peter_n also_o make_v manifest_a that_o the_o gospel_n over_o the_o three_o chapter_n of_o the_o say_a epistle_n now_o the_o question_n may_v be_v ask_v who_o give_v peter_n this_o precedency_n and_o priority_n of_o order_n among_o the_o apostle_n i_o answer_v this_o preferment_n yea_o also_o of_o power_n and_o authority_n for_o he_o that_o have_v the_o key_n he_o go_v through_o all_o as_o when_o the_o husband_n give_v the_o key_n to_o his_o new-married_a wife_n he_o declare_v that_o he_o give_v her_o power_n over_o all_o even_o so_o when_o the_o master_n of_o the_o family_n give_v the_o key_n to_o his_o steward_n he_o give_v he_o power_n over_o all_o his_o affair_n for_o this_o same_o cause_n it_o be_v that_o the_o key_n be_v deliver_v to_o a_o prince_n when_o he_o first_o enter_v in_o any_o city_n of_o his_o dominion_n it_o be_v a_o special_a sign_n shut_v they_o upon_o the_o impenitent_a so_o the_o apostle_n paul_n 1_o cor._n 4._o 1._o let_v a_o man_n so_o account_v of_o we_o as_o of_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n and_o steward_n of_o the_o promise_v to_o peter_n that_o he_o will_v give_v he_o the_o key_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n out_o of_o all_o question_n it_o be_v a_o sign_n of_o his_o preferment_n to_o some_o dignity_n but_o not_o of_o his_o power_n and_o authority_n above_o his_o brethren_n for_o that_o which_o he_o promise_v to_o give_v to_o he_o he_o make_v a_o covenant_n to_o give_v it_o to_o all_o the_o rest_n as_o well_o as_o he_o indeed_o have_v he_o not_o breathe_v upon_o all_o the_o rest_n as_o well_o as_o peter_n and_o say_v to_o all_o receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n who_o sin_n you_o remit_v etc._n etc._n i_o will_v have_v persuade_v myself_o that_o christ_n have_v give_v peter_n power_n and_o authority_n over_o the_o rest_n and_o not_o only_o a_o priority_n of_o order_n and_o a_o precedency_n of_o moderation_n some_o think_v that_o our_o saviour_n christ_n give_v not_o peter_n this_o precedency_n till_o after_o the_o resurrection_n yea_o after_o he_o have_v give_v the_o general_a commission_n to_o all_o the_o apostle_n in_o common_a when_o he_o say_v to_o he_o feed_v my_o sheep_n feed_v my_o lamb_n but_o for_o my_o part_n i_o will_v not_o dispute_v when_o he_o give_v in_o he_o sure_o all_o these_o be_v evidence_n that_o christ_n and_o none_o other_o do_v advance_v he_o in_o that_o kind_n and_o many_o more_o than_o these_o as_o may_v be_v collect_v by_o the_o former_a doctrine_n and_o which_o i_o shall_v make_v more_o plain_a hereafter_o again_o it_o will_v be_v ask_v how_o long_o this_o precedency_n of_o peter_n be_v to_o continue_v for_o a_o year_n or_o half_a
