though_o god_n shall_v never_o reward_v their_o obedience_n yet_o he_o have_v a_o second_o end_n he_o labour_v to_o discourage_v god_n people_n hereby_o in_o the_o work_n and_o to_o make_v they_o drive_v heavy_o in_o their_o way_n to_o heaven_n satan_n know_v full_a well_o that_o if_o their_o heart_n be_v discourage_v in_o the_o work_n their_o hand_n will_v be_v weaken_v for_o the_o work_n many_o it_o lose_v more_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o wicked_a man_n by_o the_o fall_v of_o some_o than_o it_o can_v gain_v again_o by_o the_o stand_n of_o thousand_o david_n fall_n though_o he_o rise_v again_o cause_v religion_n and_o the_o way_n of_o god_n to_o be_v blaspheme_v by_o wicked_a man_n it_o open_v the_o mouth_n of_o wicked_a man_n to_o blaspheme_v the_o way_n of_o god_n as_o the_o and_o hear_v not_o faithful_o if_o he_o obey_v and_o obey_v not_o willing_o if_o he_o show_v mercy_n and_o not_o cheerful_o if_o he_o keep_v the_o sabbath_n and_o not_o with_o delight_n all_o his_o service_n be_v nothing_o worth_a 3._o he_o be_v faulty_a in_o his_o aim_n and_o end_n his_o end_n be_v corrupt_a his_o aim_n be_v as_o his_o own_o end_n his_o own_o profit_n gain_n pride_n ostentation_n himself_o be_v the_o end_n of_o his_o obedience_n some_o way_n or_o other_o a_o man_n never_o wrought_v out_o of_o himself_o must_v needs_o work_v to_o himself_o and_o obedience_n which_o arise_v from_o a_o man_n self_n be_v terminate_v in_o a_o man_n self_n again_o it_o must_v be_v a_o principle_n from_o christ_n which_o carry_v the_o soul_n to_o christ_n a_o man_n can_v go_v no_o high_o than_o his_o principle_n and_o therefore_o have_v principle_n no_o high_o than_o himself_o his_o obedience_n must_v needs_o be_v terminate_v in_o himself_o as_o all_o river_n they_o run_v for_o obedience_n but_o duty_n do_v but_o quicken_v and_o strengthen_v and_o enable_v a_o godly_a man_n to_o obedience_n 6._o but_o the_o six_o and_o the_o main_a crack_n be_v here_o these_o spiritual_a performance_n do_v not_o arise_v from_o spiritual_a principle_n from_o a_o heart_n principled_a from_o above_o from_o a_o heart_n universal_o sanctify_v here_o be_v the_o bane_n of_o all_o weight_n and_o value_n to_o all_o a_o work_n do_v not_o make_v up_o the_o want_n of_o sincerity_n but_o sincerity_n will_v make_v up_o the_o want_n in_o a_o work_n as_o in_o asah_n 1_o king_n 15.14_o distinguish_v from_o other_o at_o the_o great_a day_n when_o christ_n shall_v come_v to_o separate_v the_o precious_a and_o the_o vile_a the_o sheep_n from_o the_o goat_n the_o good_a from_o the_o bad_a you_o will_v then_o be_v glad_a to_o have_v your_o work_n distinguish_v when_o all_o the_o work_n of_o man_n be_v to_o be_v try_v and_o burn_v with_o fire_n to_o see_v whether_o they_o will_v endure_v trial_n yea_o or_o no_o you_o will_v be_v glad_a then_o to_o have_v something_o in_o your_o work_n to_o distinguish_v they_o from_o other_o that_o be_v to_o perish_v why_o then_o if_o ever_o you_o will_v have_v that_o labour_v now_o to_o get_v sincerity_n sincerity_n will_v do_v this_o it_o will_v set_v such_o a_o stamp_n such_o a_o character_n upon_o they_o as_o no_o false_a coin_n no_o work_n of_o any_o hypocrite_n can_v have_v and_o therefore_o labour_v for_o it_o 3._o motive_n 3._o because_o otherwise_o all_o thy_o prayer_n thy_o tear_n thy_o duty_n all_o be_v lose_v and_o that_o be_v a_o sad_a case_n if_o a_o man_n have_v lay_v out_o much_o pain_n and_o cost_n about_o a_o work_n he_o will_v be_v sorry_a to_o lose_v all_o he_o have_v do_v for_o want_n of_o a_o little_a more_o you_o have_v do_v much_o it_o may_v be_v suffer_v much_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n will_v you_o not_o now_o lose_v all_o your_o former_a labour_n all_o your_o prayer_n all_o your_o tear_n your_o many_o sad_a hour_n spend_v in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n will_v you_o not_o lose_v all_o in_o conclusion_n oh_o labour_n to_o get_v a_o sincere_a heart_n if_o not_o you_o will_v assure_o lose_v the_o thing_n you_o have_v wrought_v god_n will_v never_o own_v they_o though_o the_o thing_n be_v material_o good_a in_o themselves_o as_o what_o better_o than_o pray_v hear_v etc._n etc._n yet_o if_o the_o heart_n be_v not_o sincere_a in_o they_o god_n will_v never_o own_v they_o you_o see_v it_o in_o the_o first_o of_o isaiah_n the_o work_n be_v good_a and_o such_o as_o god_n have_v command_v such_o as_o his_o soul_n delight_v in_o yet_o want_v this_o sincerity_n all_o be_v nothing_o etc._n etc._n 4._o motive_n 4._o because_o sincerity_n be_v the_o chief_a thing_n god_n eye_n
