bring_v it_o up_o in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n that_o so_o his_o house_n may_v be_v god_n house_n his_o child_n god_n child_n and_o his_o servant_n god_n servant_n for_o indeed_o if_o a_o man_n do_v not_o instruct_v his_o family_n at_o home_o all_o the_o week_n long_o their_o go_v to_o church_n on_o the_o lord's-day_n do_v they_o little_a or_o no_o good_a for_o the_o master_n do_v they_o as_o much_o and_o more_o harm_n in_o his_o own_o house_n than_o the_o minister_n do_v they_o good_a in_o god_n house_n the_o master_n bad_a example_n outdo_v the_o preacher_n good_a preach_v though_o he_o preach_v with_o the_o tongue_n of_o man_n and_o angel_n the_o master_n be_v customary_a swear_v and_o drink_v and_o cheat_v in_o his_o way_n of_o trade_n every_o day_n in_o the_o week_n outdo_v a_o little_a short_a florid_n sermon_n only_o once_o or_o twice_o a_o week_n and_o that_o too_o perhaps_o design_v only_o to_o please_v a_o few_o itch_a ear_n and_o not_o to_o sink_v down_o deep_a time_n i_o will_v to_o god_n i_o be_v mistake_v in_o it_o this_o evil_a of_o neglect_v family-duty_n be_v come_v to_o so_o great_a a_o head_n that_o partly_o by_o the_o strength_n of_o custom_n and_o prescription_n which_o some_o man_n impudent_o pretend_v for_o it_o partly_o by_o the_o general_n corruption_n of_o manner_n and_o partly_o for_o want_v of_o frequent_a and_o affectionate_a preach_v against_o it_o it_o will_v be_v a_o very_a hard_a matter_n to_o convince_v man_n of_o their_o duty_n in_o this_o case_n and_o therefore_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v my_o usual_a way_n to_o spend_v much_o time_n in_o the_o application_n of_o my_o discourse_n to_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n yet_o at_o this_o time_n i_o shall_v be_v force_v to_o apply_v myself_o whole_o to_o your_o judgement_n by_o endeavour_v to_o convince_v they_o of_o the_o absolute_a necessity_n of_o family-duty_n without_o ever_o apply_v myself_o to_o raise_v and_o to_o stir_v up_o your_o affection_n which_o must_v be_v reserve_v to_o some_o other_o opportunity_n and_o some_o other_o hand_n second_o the_o character_n that_o god_n give_v abraham_n be_v this_o 2._o i_o know_v he_o that_o be_v i_o approve_v of_o he_o
