over_o the_o christian_a now_o in_o respect_n of_o their_o estate_n hear_v of_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o gospel_n they_o mistake_v it_o and_o begin_v to_o think_v that_o christ_n and_o his_o gospel_n come_v to_o destroy_v policy_n and_o law_n that_o bind_v up_o commonweal_n and_o therefore_o many_o of_o they_o begin_v to_o turn_v grace_n into_o wantonness_n and_o begin_v to_o leave_v their_o master_n think_v that_o the_o gospel_n make_v a_o equality_n of_o person_n as_o the_o anabaptist_n teach_v at_o this_o day_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n perceive_v this_o he_o direct_v this_o precept_n to_o they_o recommend_v obedience_n notwithstanding_o of_o the_o gospel_n thou_o be_v a_o brother_n and_o a_o sister_n and_o yet_o a_o servant_n therefore_o obey_v now_o howbeit_o proper_o be_v in_o that_o call_n namely_o so_o to_o govern_v their_o family_n and_o household_n duty_n parent_n and_o householder_n duty_n and_o so_o to_o instruct_v they_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n and_o salvation_n that_o they_o may_v be_v well_o enure_v with_o integrity_n of_o life_n and_o sanctimony_n and_o so_o have_v they_o particular_a congregation_n as_o it_o be_v famous_a and_o worthy_a commendation_n among_o all_o the_o godly_a for_o faith_n and_o holiness_n but_o what_o man_n be_v he_o i_o will_v not_o say_v that_o strive_v to_o this_o but_o that_o think_v of_o it_o at_o the_o least_o careful_o from_o whence_o it_o flow_v that_o not_o only_a people_n proceed_v to_o profaneness_n but_o the_o church_n be_v not_o increase_v which_o can_v be_v till_o special_a family_n which_o make_v particular_a congregation_n be_v well_o and_o thorough_o reform_v but_o we_o will_v leave_v this_o and_o proceed_v to_o that_o which_o follow_v the_o two_o next_o verse_n contain_v in_o they_o the_o five_o part_n of_o this_o four_o chapter_n and_o they_o do_v contain_v in_o they_o certain_a special_a point_n which_o he_o give_v in_o charge_n to_o the_o colossian_n concern_v partly_o their_o own_o benefit_n and_o partly_o the_o good_a of_o the_o laodicean_n the_o first_o thing_n he_o charge_v they_o withal_o be_v that_o after_o this_o epistle_n have_v be_v read_v among_o the_o colossian_n a_o king_n because_o he_o be_v a_o king_n and_o deny_v it_o to_o a_o beggar_n because_o he_o be_v a_o beggar_n but_o he_o will_v justify_v the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o without_o all_o respect_n of_o person_n see_v then_o this_o be_v his_o do_v what_o shall_v we_o do_v look_v what_o paul_n say_v 2._o cor._n 5._o according_a to_o the_o flesh_n i_o will_v not_o account_v of_o one_o man_n more_o than_o of_o another_o i_o will_v offer_v grace_n to_o the_o beggar_n as_o well_o as_o to_o the_o rich_a and_o again_o in_o policy_n i_o give_v thou_o leave_v to_o account_v of_o the_o king_n as_o see_v when_o christ_n come_v there_o be_v a_o strange_a change_n in_o the_o world_n think_v you_o he_o come_v in_o vain_a or_o for_o nothing_o be_v there_o not_o a_o great_a change_n when_o a_o great_a monarch_n come_v into_o the_o country_n think_v you_o not_o but_o when_o christ_n come_v there_o be_v a_o great_a change_n such_o as_o be_v never_o at_o the_o come_n of_o all_o the_o monarch_n in_o the_o world_n paul_n 2._o cor._n 5._o vers_fw-la 17._o say_v speak_v of_o this_o change_n whosoever_o be_v in_o christ_n be_v a_o new_a creature_n all_o thing_n be_v make_v new_a in_o he_o but_o add_v this_o if_o ever_o it_o be_v well_o with_o they_o they_o must_v be_v renew_a that_o old_a shape_n must_v be_v put_v off_o they_o thou_o that_o be_v a_o king_n must_v be_v make_v a_o new_a such_o a_o alteration_n then_o and_o thou_o that_o will_v not_o see_v it_o now_o thou_o shall_v then_o be_v compel_v to_o see_v it_o will_z thou_o will_v thou_o this_o for_o the_o first_o part_n of_o what_o be_v it_o jesus_n christ_n the_o lord_n be_v in_o steed_n of_o all_o he_o supply_v the_o want_n of_o all_o these_o earthly_a thing_n so_o that_o if_o you_o will_v ask_v of_o this_o new_a man_n what_o be_v thy_o nation_n suppose_v he_o be_v of_o the_o best_a nation_n on_o earth_n he_o will_v answer_v christ_n be_v my_o nation_n if_o thou_o ask_v what_o be_v thy_o kindred_n let_v he_o come_v of_o king_n he_o will_v say_v jesus_n christ_n be_v my_o kindred_n it_o be_v a_o woeful_a blood_n thou_o be_v come_v of_o if_o thou_o be_v nothing_o renew_v in_o christ_n will_v thou_o ask_v what_o be_v thy_o kingdom_n he_o will_v answer_v jesus_n christ_n be_v my_o kingdom_n a_o earthly_a body_n will_v say_v and_o answer_v i_o be_o king_n of_o france_n and_o i_o be_o king_n of_o spain_n and_o i_o be_o emperor_n and_o will_v cast_v his_o head_n up_o if_o thou_o will_v ask_v what_o be_v thy_o riches_n thy_o honour_n and_o estate_n he_o will_v answer_v christ_n be_v all_o thing_n to_o i_o and_o so_o there_o be_v no_o prerogative_n in_o this_o world_n he_o will_v put_v christ_n in_o the_o room_n of_o all_o whether_o he_o have_v or_o want_v it_o you_o remember_v matth._n 12._o when_o the_o mother_n of_o christ_n will_v have_v come_v to_o he_o and_o the_o disciple_n tell_v he_o that_o say_v behold_v thy_o mother_n &_o thy_o brethren_n stand_v without_o desire_v to_o speak_v with_o thou_o he_o answer_v who_o be_v my_o mother_n my_o brethren_n and_o sister_n even_o they_o that_o do_v my_o father_n will_n then_o general_o he_o tell_v whosoever_o will_v do_v the_o will_n of_o his_o father_n be_v his_o mother_n brother_n and_o sister_n then_o turn_v it_o over_o if_o thou_o be_v a_o faithful_a man_n thou_o be_v brother_n to_o he_o and_o all_o and_o again_o he_o be_v all_o to_o labour_v to_o put_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n in_o their_o heart_n nay_o it_o be_v no_o marvel_v though_o you_o have_v thief_n and_o whore_n in_o your_o house_n and_o family_n when_o as_o you_o put_v not_o in_o this_o ground_n of_o sincere_a service_n in_o their_o heart_n the_o fear_n of_o god_n now_o follow_v the_o fountain_n of_o all_o service_n what_o ever_o you_o do_v do_v it_o hearty_o as_o thou_o for_o there_o be_v not_o a_o faithful_a servant_n but_o he_o that_o be_v the_o servant_n of_o christ_n and_o in_o his_o service_n have_v ever_o his_o eye_n to_o the_o will_n of_o christ_n and_o if_o thou_o have_v such_o a_o servant_n than_o thou_o shall_v have_v a_o blessing_n of_o that_o servant_n though_o it_o be_v but_o a_o kitchen_n lass_n o_o bless_a be_v that_o house_n that_o have_v a_o servant_n that_o fear_v the_o lord_n and_o love_v the_o lord_n yea_o a_o great_a blessing_n follow_v that_o servant_n then_o follow_v the_o master_n oftentimes_o now_o follow_v the_o argument_n to_o move_v they_o to_o this_o holy_a servant_n argument_n to_o move_v servant_n service_n the_o first_o be_v from_o the_o reward_n that_o the_o faithful_a servant_n shall_v receive_v know_v that_o of_o the_o lord_n you_o shall_v receive_v the_o reward_n of_o the_o inheritance_n the_o argument_n be_v take_v not_o from_o a_o hire_n they_o get_v present_o but_o from_o a_o promise_n of_o a_o hire_n now_o certain_o thou_o be_v a_o wicked_a servant_n that_o will_v not_o do_v a_o turn_v till_o thou_o get_v thy_o hire_n in_o thy_o hand_n thou_o be_v a_o wicked_a servant_n that_o will_v do_v nothing_o till_o thou_o get_v heaven_n in_o thy_o hand_n i_o tell_v thou_o thou_o shall_v never_o get_v heaven_n if_o thou_o can_v depend_v upon_o a_o promise_n of_o heaven_n there_o be_v here_o then_o a_o promise_n of_o a_o hire_n and_o a_o reward_n from_o who_o the_o apostle_n say_v not_o your_o earthly_a master_n will_v pay_v you_o no_o but_o he_o say_v your_o lord_n of_o heaven_n shall_v reward_v you_o why_o speak_v he_o so_o because_o he_o dare_v not_o promise_v of_o earthly_a man_n for_o all_o man_n be_v liar_n &_o they_o will_v oft_o time_n hold_v back_o the_o hire_n of_o the_o servant_n but_o he_o promise_v in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o he_o be_v faithful_a and_o therefore_o servant_n you_o shall_v rejoice_v in_o this_o for_o howbeit_o thou_o want_v thy_o earthly_a hire_n yet_o be_v faithful_a in_o thy_o service_n and_o thou_o shall_v not_o want_v thy_o hire_n what_o a_o reward_n be_v this_o what_o shall_v he_o have_v his_o hire_v in_o his_o hand_n and_o so_o fare_v you_o well_o indeed_o this_o be_v the_o fashion_n of_o the_o world_n but_o this_o reward_n the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o be_v a_o reward_n of_o a_o inheritance_n o_o thou_o that_o will_v have_v a_o eye_n to_o the_o lord_n of_o heaven_n he_o will_v not_o reward_v thou_o like_o a_o servant_n thou_o shall_v be_v a_o son_n and_o therefore_o a_o inheritor_n rom._n 8._o 17._o and_o go_v you_o say_v christ_n inherit_v that_o kingdom_n prepare_v for_o you_o from_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n matth._n 25._o 34._o yea_o shall_v the_o kitchen_n lass_n be_v make_v a_o queen_n and_o a_o silly_a simple_a boy_n a_o king_n yes_o the_o lord_n will_v do_v that_o and_o will_v give_v they_o a_o kingdom_n in_o heaven_n so_o first_o rejoice_v for_o the_o certainty_n of_o your_o reward_n next_o for_o the_o greatness_n of_o it_o it_o be_v not_o a_o hire_n and_o a_o bounty_n that_o be_v small_a in_o value_n alas_o it_o may_v be_v thou_o think_v little_a of_o it_o because_o thou_o have_v it_o not_o in_o thy_o hand_n but_o bless_v be_v thou_o if_o thou_o cause_v wait_v upon_o the_o promise_n and_o believe_v it_o now_o to_o prove_v that_o they_o shall_v get_v this_o reward_n first_o he_o take_v a_o argument_n from_o their_o own_o knowledge_n know_v know_v you_o not_o i_o appeal_v to_o your_o own_o conscience_n if_o there_o be_v not_o a_o reward_n lay_v up_o for_o thou_o if_o thou_o serve_v faithful_o tell_v not_o thy_o conscience_n thou_o this_o i_o will_v serve_v for_o i_o look_v for_o a_o kingdom_n it_o be_v not_o this_o small_a hire_n no_o that_o lord_n who_o i_o have_v serve_v from_o morning_n to_o night_n he_o will_v give_v i_o a_o kingdom_n brethren_n it_o be_v a_o thing_n impossible_a that_o faith_n can_v beguile_v a_o man_n hope_v then_o i_o promise_v thou_o thy_o hope_n shall_v not_o beguile_v thou_o yea_o hope_v for_o thing_n thou_o have_v not_o see_v and_o thou_o shall_v get_v they_o it_o be_v impossible_a well_o note_v well_o that_o thy_o faith_n and_o hope_n can_v be_v disappoint_v and_o lay_v this_o ground_n thou_o have_v to_o do_v with_o a_o faithful_a lord_n that_o can_v not_o beguile_v thou_o so_o close_o thy_o eye_n upon_o all_o other_o thing_n and_o rest_n in_o hope_n on_o christ_n and_o thou_o shall_v see_v a_o joyful_a end_n bless_a be_v that_o soul_n that_o rest_v in_o hope_n for_o it_o shall_v receive_v glory_n the_o second_o argument_n be_v from_o the_o service_n do_v to_o christ_n you_o serve_v the_o lord_n fie_o on_o thou_o that_o will_v begin_v to_o serve_v another_o master_n and_o neglect_v thy_o duty_n to_o he_o so_o the_o argument_n be_v because_o thou_o serve_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n therefore_o thou_o must_v have_v a_o reward_n of_o he_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o a_o heritage_n because_o his_o hand_n be_v the_o hand_n of_o a_o infinite_a god_n what_o be_v the_o heritage_n on_o the_o earth_n he_o think_v it_o over_o little_a to_o give_v they_o to_o thou_o therefore_o he_o will_v give_v thou_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n then_o mark_v never_o man_n serve_v christ_n
that_o my_o soul_n may_v rest_v in_o thou_o now_o woe_n be_v that_o soul_n that_o know_v not_o god_n in_o jesus_n christ_n you_o shall_v not_o abide_v here_o ever_o therefore_o seek_v to_o know_v this_o god_n with_o who_o you_o must_v live_v forever_o he_o give_v the_o reason_n why_o god_n shall_v revenge_v their_o cause_n and_o wrong_v do_v against_o they_o by_o point_v out_o the_o nature_n of_o god_n he_o be_v a_o judge_n not_o like_o the_o judge_n of_o this_o world_n they_o respect_v the_o person_n of_o man_n this_o be_v the_o corruption_n person_n with_o god_n there_o be_v no_o respect_n of_o person_n of_o nature_n but_o as_o for_o this_o judge_n he_o respect_v no_o person_n he_o will_v not_o look_v to_o thou_o who_o be_v a_o king_n more_o than_o to_o the_o beggar_n when_o thou_o appear_v before_o he_o come_v on_o with_o robe_n royal_a he_o will_v not_o regard_v thou_o no_o more_o then_o if_o thou_o appear_v in_o a_o beggar_n cloak_n therefore_o look_v to_o he_o now_o as_o thou_o will_v see_v he_o when_o thou_o shall_v appear_v before_o his_o judgement_n and_o there_o be_v none_o of_o we_o but_o even_o now_o we_o be_v before_o his_o tribunal_n howbeit_o we_o see_v
