godliness_n well_o let_v these_o fleshly_a zealous_a man_n lay_v to_o their_o heart_n the_o blind_a affection_n of_o helâ—_n who_o be_v the_o dear_a child_n of_o god_n be_v severe_o punish_v of_o the_o lord_n for_o that_o he_o be_v not_o zealous_o affect_v to_o punish_v sin_n against_o god_n in_o his_o dear_a child_n but_o bless_a be_v they_o that_o can_v forget_v their_o own_o cause_n and_o they_o but_o when_o the_o magistrate_n have_v get_v a_o good_a report_n by_o the_o due_a execution_n of_o justice_n by_o his_o magistrates_n pitiful_a deal_n with_o the_o poor_a and_o by_o his_o fatherly_a favour_n to_o all_o that_o be_v good_a then_o will_v his_o subject_n love_v he_o then_o will_v they_o embrace_v he_o then_o will_v they_o willing_o commit_v their_o matter_n into_o his_o hand_n and_o then_o will_v they_o with_o faithful_a and_o friendly_a heart_n clean_a and_o stick_v fast_o unto_o he_o to_o be_v short_a that_o lawyer_n have_v most_o client_n that_o physician_n have_v most_o patient_n lawyer_n and_o that_o merchant_n most_o customer_n who_o virtuous_a and_o godly_a deal_n have_v get_v they_o a_o good_a report_n in_o the_o calling_n of_o the_o church_n this_o also_o be_v true_a for_o if_o any_o preacher_n by_o the_o faithful_a discharge_n preacher_n of_o his_o duty_n and_o by_o his_o godly_a life_n have_v once_o get_v the_o favour_n and_o friendship_n of_o man_n how_o glad_o will_v man_n hear_v he_o how_o quiet_o will_v they_o be_v rule_v by_o he_o in_o what_o simplicity_n will_v they_o make_v know_v their_o grief_n unto_o he_o &_o how_o careful_a will_v they_o be_v to_o procure_v his_o good_a the_o schoolmaster_n also_o that_o have_v the_o name_n of_o learning_n to_o teach_v of_o discretion_n to_o schoolmaster_n rule_v of_o godliness_n to_o train_v up_o his_o scholar_n in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n he_o never_o want_v scholar_n but_o the_o most_o and_o best_a man_n of_o all_o will_v flock_v unto_o he_o contrariwise_o if_o any_o of_o those_o be_v discredit_v through_o any_o evil_a name_n if_o the_o magistrate_n be_v account_v a_o oppressor_n or_o a_o tyrant_n the_o lawyer_n be_v report_v to_o deal_v deceitful_o if_o the_o minister_n be_v corrupt_v either_o in_o doctrine_n or_o life_n if_o the_o schoolmaster_n be_v once_o know_v to_o be_v insufficient_a in_o learning_n unwise_a in_o government_n profane_a and_o of_o no_o religion_n then_o will_v all_o man_n be_v afraid_a to_o have_v any_o deal_n with_o they_o those_o thing_n be_v often_o find_v true_a in_o peace_n and_o prosperity_n but_o in_o adversity_n as_o in_o the_o time_n of_o war_n in_o the_o time_n of_o sickness_n and_o in_o the_o time_n of_o want_n and_o poverty_n they_o be_v find_v most_o true_a will_v not_o all_o the_o poor_a commonalty_n in_o the_o time_n of_o war_n seek_v some_o aid_n at_o that_o magistrate_n who_o in_o the_o time_n of_o peace_n do_v good_a unto_o they_o nay_o rather_o will_v they_o not_o all_o with_o one_o consent_n come_v together_o to_o help_v and_o defend_v they_o even_o with_o all_o their_o might_n and_o with_o life_n itself_o see_v that_o he_o have_v use_v all_o good_a mean_n to_o save_v and_o defend_v their_o life_n contrariwise_o how_o many_o king_n how_o many_o captain_n how_o many_o magistrate_n captain_n have_v even_o in_o their_o great_a need_n be_v leave_v and_o forsake_v of_o their_o subject_n &_o soldier_n because_o they_o have_v too_o sharp_o and_o unmerciful_o rule_v they_o and_o which_o be_v more_o than_o this_o the_o subject_n have_v even_o procure_v the_o death_n of_o their_o prince_n the_o soldier_n have_v lay_v violent_a hand_n upon_o their_o captain_n and_o the_o tenant_n have_v be_v the_o first_o that_o have_v seek_v the_o death_n of_o their_o landlord_n because_o no_o pity_n no_o compassion_n no_o friendship_n and_o love_a favour_n have_v be_v show_v unto_o they_o again_o if_o magistrate_n minister_n master_n or_o any_o other_o man_n by_o execute_v the_o duty_n of_o love_n have_v win_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o people_n and_o get_v a_o good_a name_n among_o they_o then_o in_o his_o sickness_n they_o will_v pray_v for_o he_o they_o will_v visit_v he_o they_o will_v bear_v with_o he_o a_o part_n of_o his_o grief_n again_o what_o can_v be_v more_o comfortable_a to_o a_o man_n than_o this_o be_v this_o will_v glad_v he_o at_o the_o heart_n and_o this_o will_v turn_v his_o bâ—d_v in_o all_o his_o sickness_n etc._n in_o poverty_n also_o he_o be_v soon_o and_o most_o holpen_v which_o have_v the_o best_a name_n and_o have_v obtain_v through_o virtue_n most_o wicked_a will_v not_o let_v it_o go_v out_o of_o their_o mind_n but_o if_o this_o be_v against_o a_o preacher_n or_o professor_n of_o the_o gospel_n than_o the_o sin_n be_v the_o great_a because_o god_n and_o his_o word_n become_v dishonour_v thereby_o the_o second_o instruction_n be_v that_o we_o must_v be_v careful_a by_o all_o good_a mean_n to_o get_v and_o maintain_v name_n our_o good_a name_n for_o if_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n to_o discredit_v another_o man_n then_o much_o more_o be_v it_o a_o sin_n to_o discredit_v ourselves_o if_o we_o be_v charge_v to_o further_a the_o good_a name_n of_o our_o
wife_n good_n land_n friend_n parent_n child_n yea_o and_o peradventure_o also_o it_o will_v cost_v thou_o the_o loss_n of_o thy_o own_o heart_n blood_n it_o be_v more_o chargeable_a than_o some_o think_v it_o be_v and_o that_o it_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o they_o make_v so_o little_a account_n of_o it_o now_o there_o be_v some_o which_o care_v not_o what_o it_o cost_v they_o so_o that_o it_o may_v be_v have_v with_o ease_n but_o such_o must_v know_v that_o it_o be_v as_o laborious_a as_o costly_a for_o before_o thou_o can_v attain_v unto_o it_o thou_o must_v travail_v in_o heart_n and_o in_o soul_n with_o weep_v with_o sigh_v with_o much_o fast_n with_o prayer_n with_o watch_v with_o meditation_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o in_o practise_v warfare_n of_o all_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n thou_o must_v travail_v in_o compassion_n towards_o all_o man_n thou_o must_v take_v pain_n in_o do_v thy_o duty_n towards_o thy_o superior_n and_o in_o relieve_n the_o needy_a and_o such_o as_o be_v in_o distress_n final_o it_o be_v a_o most_o painful_a way_n to_o pass_v and_o many_o there_o be_v which_o deceive_v themselves_o enter_v into_o it_o without_o preconsideration_n either_o of_o cost_n or_o pain_n i_o tell_v you_o in_o the_o hour_n of_o death_n in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n in_o persecution_n in_o trial_n in_o banishment_n many_o shall_v see_v and_o know_v that_o they_o have_v deceive_v themselves_o for_o that_o they_o have_v not_o due_o think_v of_o these_o say_a charge_n neither_o be_v it_o only_o chargeable_a and_o troublesome_a but_o also_o there_o be_v in_o it_o many_o and_o great_a peril_n and_o danger_n many_o battle_n must_v be_v fight_v before_o thou_o can_v come_v unto_o the_o end_n thereof_o now_o for_o a_o man_n according_a to_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n what_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o we_o shall_v do_v this_o or_o why_o we_o shall_v do_v that_o why_o we_o shall_v lose_v our_o wife_n child_n good_n and_o land_n this_o reason_n then_o of_o we_o must_v be_v fight_v against_o and_o overcome_v but_o when_o a_o man_n have_v overcome_v his_o reason_n and_o know_v what_o thing_n to_o be_v angry_a for_o and_o what_o thing_n to_o be_v patient_a in_o what_o to_o love_n and_o what_o to_o hate_v then_o shall_v he_o the_o better_a walk_n right_o but_o for_o as_o much_o as_o a_o man_n must_v fight_v both_o with_o his_o reason_n and_o his_o affection_n battle_n this_o be_v a_o hard_a battle_n for_o though_o a_o man_n have_v overcome_v his_o reason_n yet_o his_o affection_n may_v still_o â—e_a head_n strong_a in_o he_o yea_o so_o strong_a as_o they_o shall_v carry_v his_o reason_n &_o judgement_n headlong_o here_o then_o arise_v a_o great_a fight_n than_o before_o before_o the_o affection_n can_v be_v overcome_v but_o when_o reason_n &_o affection_n join_v together_o &_o that_o a_o man_n have_v to_o deal_v with_o they_o both_o then_o arise_v a_o most_o deadly_a fight_n insomuch_o that_o a_o with_o fair_a and_o good_a report_n but_o thou_o must_v also_o fight_v with_o reproach_n and_o this_o be_v no_o small_a combat_n for_o have_v riches_n and_o glory_n thou_o may_v escape_v pride_n and_o ambition_n but_o if_o indeed_o thou_o profess_v the_o truth_n thou_o can_v not_o escape_v reproach_n wherefore_o if_o this_o be_v not_o foretâ—_n ought_v and_o look_v unto_o betimes_o if_o a_o man_n the_o lord_n have_v bring_v we_o unto_o a_o low_a â—bbe_n we_o must_v take_v heed_n that_o we_o be_v â—o_o shifter_n for_o when_o by_o a_o simple_a and_o godly_a live_v many_o can_v thrive_v and_o prosper_v in_o this_o world_n then_o fall_v they_o to_o unlawful_a mean_n and_o now_o adays_o rather_o than_o a_o man_n will_v be_v in_o want_n he_o will_v take_v two_o or_o three_o living_n wherefore_o this_o temptation_n of_o want_n be_v very_o great_a and_o therefore_o so_o much_o the_o more_o to_o be_v look_v unto_o likewise_o when_o a_o man_n must_v fight_v with_o banishment_n loss_n
