you_o in_o your_o great_a need_n beg_v for_o his_o mercy_n to_o your_o soul_n when_o you_o will_v not_o afford_v they_o your_o own_o no_o not_o that_o common_a charity_n of_o consider_v they_o of_o bestow_v a_o few_o of_o those_o idle_a hour_n you_o know_v not_o scarce_o how_o to_o pass_v away_o upon_o they_o 29._o lay_v this_o to_o your_o heart_n and_o as_o ever_o you_o hope_v for_o god_n pity_n when_o you_o most_o want_v it_o be_v sure_a in_o time_n to_o pity_n yourselves_o by_o take_v that_o due_a care_n of_o your_o precious_a soul_n which_o belong_v to_o they_o 30._o if_o what_o benefit_n purchase_v for_o we_o by_o christ_n be_v such_o as_o will_v undoubted_o make_v the_o soul_n happy_a for_o eternal_a happiness_n itself_o be_v one_o of_o they_o but_o because_o these_o benefit_n belong_v not_o to_o we_o till_o we_o perform_v the_o condition_n require_v of_o we_o whoever_o desire_v the_o happiness_n of_o his_o soul_n must_v set_v himself_o to_o the_o perform_n of_o that_o condition_n what_o that_o be_v i_o have_v already_o mention_v in_o the_o general_n that_o it_o be_v the_o hearty_a honest_a endeavour_n of_o obey_v the_o whole_a will_n of_o god_n but_o then_o that_o will_n of_o god_n contain_v under_o it_o many_o particular_n it_o be_v necessary_a we_o shall_v also_o know_v what_o those_o be_v that_o be_v what_o be_v the_o several_a thing_n that_o god_n now_o require_v of_o we_o our_o performance_n whereof_o will_v bring_v we_o to_o everlasting_a happiness_n and_o the_o neglect_n to_o endless_a misery_n 2._o of_o these_o thing_n there_o be_v some_o though_o christ_n have_v bring_v great_a light_n into_o the_o world_n yet_o he_o never_o mean_v by_o it_o to_o put_v out_o any_o of_o that_o natural_a light_n which_o god_n have_v set_v up_o in_o our_o soul_n therefore_o let_v i_o here_o by_o the_o way_n advise_v you_o not_o to_o walk_v contrary_a even_o to_o this_o lesser_a light_n i_o mean_v not_o to_o venture_v on_o any_o of_o those_o act_n forementioned_a benefit_n of_o christ_n belong_v to_o we_o 24._o and_o now_o you_o see_v how_o little_a reason_n you_o have_v to_o cast_v off_o the_o care_n of_o your_o soul_n upon_o a_o conceit_n they_o be_v past_a cure_n for_o that_o it_o be_v plain_a they_o be_v not_o nay_o certain_o they_o be_v in_o that_o very_a condition_n which_o of_o all_o other_o make_v they_o fit_a for_o our_o care_n if_o they_o have_v not_o be_v thus_o redeem_a by_o christ_n they_o have_v be_v then_o so_o hopeless_a that_o care_n will_v have_v be_v in_o vain_a on_o there_o other_o side_n if_o his_o redemption_n have_v be_v such_o that_o all_o man_n shall_v be_v save_v by_o it_o though_o they_o live_v as_o they_o list_v we_o shall_v have_v think_v it_o needless_a to_o take_v care_n for_o they_o because_o they_o be_v safe_a without_o it_o but_o it_o have_v please_v god_n so_o to_o order_v it_o that_o our_o care_n must_v be_v the_o mean_n by_o which_o they_o must_v receive_v the_o good_a even_o of_o they_o according_a to_o the_o opinion_n of_o those_o who_o be_v best_a skill_v in_o they_o now_o certain_o god_n who_o make_v our_o soul_n best_a know_v the_o worth_n of_o they_o and_o since_o he_o prize_v they_o so_o high_a let_v we_o if_o it_o be_v but_o in_o reverence_n to_o he_o be_v ashamed_a to_o neglect_v they_o especial_o now_o that_o they_o be_v in_o so_o hopeful_a a_o condition_n that_o nothing_o but_o our_o own_o carelessness_n can_v possible_o destroy_v they_o 27._o i_o have_v now_o brief_o go_v over_o those_o four_o motive_n of_o care_n i_o at_o first_o propose_v which_o be_v each_o of_o they_o such_o as_o never_o miss_v to_o stir_v it_o up_o towards_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n and_o i_o have_v also_o show_v you_o how_o much_o more_o reasonable_a nay_o necessary_a it_o be_v they_o shall_v do_v the_o like_a for_o the_o soul_n and_o now_o what_o can_v i_o say_v more_o but_o conclude_v in_o the_o word_n of_o isaiah_n 46._o 8._o remember_v this_o and_o show_v yourselves_o man_n that_o be_v deal_v with_o your_o soul_n as_o your_o reason_n teach_v you_o to_o do_v with_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o concern_v you_o and_o sure_o this_o common_a justice_n bind_v you_o to_o for_o the_o soul_n be_v that_o which_o furnish_v you_o with_o that_o reason_n which_o you_o exercise_v in_o all_o your_o worldly_a business_n and_o shall_v the_o soul_n itself_o receive_v no_o benefit_n from_o that_o reason_n which_o it_o afford_v you_o this_o be_v as_o if_o the_o master_n of_o a_o family_n who_o provide_v food_n for_o his_o servant_n shall_v by_o they_o be_v keep_v from_o eat_v any_o himself_o and_o so_o remain_v the_o only_o starve_a creature_n in_o his_o house_n 28._o and_o as_o justice_n
thou_o set_v to_o this_o part_n of_o examination_n remember_v what_o be_v the_o several_a branch_n of_o thy_o duty_n and_o then_o ask_v thy_o own_o heart_n in_o every_o particular_a how_o thou_o have_v perform_v it_o and_o content_v not_o thyself_o with_o know_v in_o general_n that_o thou_o have_v break_v god_n law_n but_o do_v thy_o utmost_a to_o discover_v in_o what_o particular_n thou_o have_v do_v so_o recall_v as_o well_o as_o thou_o can_v all_o the_o passage_n of_o thy_o life_n and_o in_o each_o of_o they_o consider_v what_o part_n of_o that_o duty_n have_v be_v transgress_v by_o it_o and_o that_o not_o only_o in_o the_o grosser_n act_n but_o in_o word_n also_o nay_o even_o in_o thy_o most_o secret_a thought_n for_o though_o man_n law_n reach_v not_o to_o they_o yet_o god_n do_v so_o that_o whatever_o he_o forbid_v in_o the_o act_n he_o forbid_v likewise_o in_o the_o thought_n and_o desire_n and_o see_v they_o as_o clear_o as_o our_o most_o public_a act_n this_o these_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o we_o have_v a_o direct_a and_o particular_a knowledge_n of_o our_o sin_n for_o how_o can_v he_o either_o confess_v his_o sin_n that_o know_v not_o his_o guilt_n
