say_v that_o godliness_n be_v great_a gain_n if_o it_o be_v yet_o further_o ask_v but_o what_o advantage_n have_v godly_a man_n by_o these_o temporal_a promise_n ans._n this_o be_v not_o their_o he_o have_v or_o want_v whether_o he_o enjoy_v more_o plentiful_o or_o be_v in_o scarcity_n he_o have_v still_o the_o better_a of_o he_o by_o far_o which_o shall_v make_v we_o all_o love_n godliness_n the_o more_o which_o have_v so_o great_a a_o advantage_n as_o this_o attend_v it_o thus_o much_o in_o short_a of_o the_o promise_n annex_v to_o this_o command_n to_o descend_v to_o speak_v particular_o of_o all_o the_o several_a relation_n comprehend_v under_o it_o as_o of_o magistrate_n and_o subject_n church-officer_n pastor_n guide_n and_o ruler_n and_o ordinary_a church_n member_n husband_n and_o wife_n parent_n and_o child_n master_n and_o servant_n etc._n etc._n and_o of_o their_o respective_a duty_n will_v be_v a_o large_a task_n and_o draw_v we_o forth_o a_o great_a length_n beyond_o our_o design_n in_o this_o undertake_n and_o somewhat_o to_o this_o purpose_n be_v already_o speak_v from_o the_o three_o and_o four_o chapter_n of_o the_o epistle_n to_o the_o seasonable_o perform_v they_o in_o a_o special_a manner_n adorn_v the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n and_o keep_v it_o from_o be_v blaspheme_v and_o bear_v a_o very_a real_a and_o evident_a testimony_n to_o
