fast_v be_v adjoin_v for_o as_o some_o thing_n be_v not_o to_o be_v have_v without_o a_o great_a price_n nor_o many_o suit_n obtain_v of_o great_a man_n without_o long_a and_o earnest_a supplication_n so_o some_o thing_n be_v not_o to_o be_v receive_v from_o god_n without_o those_o fervent_a prayer_n and_o supplication_n which_o can_v not_o be_v without_o fast_v nor_o without_o that_o humble_a prostrate_v of_o ourselves_o which_o be_v wrought_v in_o we_o by_o that_o mean_n and_o thus_o we_o be_v teach_v that_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v use_v private_o this_o part_n of_o god_n service_n a_o great_a deal_n more_o than_o we_o have_v do_v whereby_o we_o may_v have_v bring_v into_o our_o house_n more_o blessing_n and_o have_v keep_v out_o more_o affliction_n than_o now_o we_o have_v but_o indeed_o the_o ignorance_n of_o the_o most_o part_n be_v so_o lamentable_a fast_n by_o reason_n of_o their_o great_a ignorance_n many_o be_v unfit_a for_o private_a fast_n that_o if_o they_o shall_v not_o only_o have_v thus_o do_v before_o but_o shall_v now_o upon_o the_o hear_n of_o this_o doctrine_n hereafter_o determine_v for_o some_o good_a cause_n best_o know_v unto_o themselves_o to_o take_v this_o exercise_n upon_o they_o they_o know_v not_o how_o to_o behave_v themselves_o in_o it_o or_o to_o perform_v it_o in_o any_o measure_n so_o as_o it_o may_v be_v acceptable_a unto_o god_n and_o comfortable_a to_o themselves_o so_o that_o it_o will_v fall_v out_o with_o they_o as_o with_o those_o of_o who_o our_o saviour_n christ_n speak_v in_o the_o gospel_n 5.36_o luk._n 5.36_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o only_o not_o be_v better_v thereby_o but_o make_v worse_o even_o as_o if_o a_o piece_n of_o a_o new_a garment_n be_v put_v into_o a_o old_a vesture_n than_o the_o new_a rent_v and_o thereby_o wonderful_a unfitnesse_n that_o be_v in_o man_n do_v not_o excuse_v they_o as_o it_o do_v the_o disciple_n who_o be_v but_o novice_n in_o his_o school_n for_o he_o have_v be_v then_o but_o a_o little_a with_o they_o therefore_o we_o see_v what_o god_n require_v of_o we_o private_o as_o any_o occasion_n shall_v fall_v out_o namely_o that_o we_o shall_v serve_v he_o not_o only_o in_o other_o holy_a duty_n but_o in_o fast_v and_o prayer_n and_o therefore_o that_o we_o ought_v all_o of_o we_o so_o to_o profit_v by_o the_o public_a ministry_n of_o the_o word_n while_o it_o be_v what_o time_n they_o will_v for_o this_o purpose_n no_o though_o they_o evident_o see_v that_o they_o have_v just_a cause_n to_o use_v it_o for_o beside_o that_o the_o man_n and_o woman_n be_v so_o near_o unite_v by_o the_o bond_n of_o marriage_n as_o by_o the_o covenant_n of_o god_n 7.5_o prou._n 2.17_o math._n 19.5_o 1._o cor._n 7.5_o whereby_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o they_o be_v no_o god_n as_o son_n and_o daughter_n man_n servant_n and_o maid_n servant_n scholar_n all_o labourer_n and_o hire_a man_n for_o the_o time_n and_o such_o like_a so_o that_o none_o of_o these_o can_v without_o the_o knowledge_n and_o free_a consent_n of_o those_o under_o who_o they_o be_v make_v choice_n of_o what_o day_n in_o the_o week_n they_o will_v to_o observe_v their_o private_a fast_n in_o for_o see_v the_o day_n of_o fast_o be_v to_o be_v keep_v holy_a and_o be_v of_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o sabbath_n as_o have_v be_v prove_v before_o in_o it_o they_o must_v whole_o rest_v from_o all_o the_o work_n of_o their_o ordinary_a call_n from_o evening_n to_o evening_n and_o must_v spend_v that_o time_n in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n they_o can_v not_o at_o their_o own_o will_n and_o pleasure_n give_v over_o these_o work_n and_o so_o consequent_o not_o appoint_v unto_o themselves_o a_o day_n of_o rest_v but_o must_v be_v content_v herein_o to_o be_v order_v by_o the_o discretion_n of_o those_o to_o who_o they_o have_v either_o by_o the_o bond_n of_o nature_n or_o by_o some_o covenant_n whole_o addict_v themselves_o and_o all_o their_o
