because_o they_o want_v reverence_n of_o they_o and_o be_v wicked_a contemn_v they_o therefore_o their_o soul_n be_v cut_v of_o their_o heart_n harden_v they_o have_v forfeit_v their_o salvation_n such_o thing_n as_o we_o have_v to_o deal_v in_o by_o reason_n of_o our_o call_n i_o say_v if_o we_o do_v this_o and_o think_v as_o indeed_o it_o be_v true_a that_o he_o give_v we_o the_o night_n and_o day_n both_o for_o our_o calling_n why_o be_v it_o not_o so_o in_o the_o sabbath_n then_o that_o he_o take_v the_o seven_o day_n &_o night_n to_o himself_o as_o well_o as_o he_o give_v six_o that_o will_v lead_v he_o to_o life_n therefore_o if_o we_o be_v not_o altogether_o senseless_a and_o blockish_a in_o respect_n of_o spiritual_a sense_n and_o life_n it_o will_v be_v as_o great_a a_o joy_n for_o we_o to_o feed_v at_o his_o table_n and_o in_o his_o house_n upon_o the_o bread_n of_o life_n as_o in_o our_o own_o house_n upon_o corruptible_a bread_n and_o again_o can_v christ_n find_v in_o his_o hart_n for_o our_o sake_n willing_o to_o bestow_v his_o soul_n &_o body_n and_o give_v his_o body_n to_o death_n and_o his_o soul_n to_o suffer_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o shall_v we_o account_v it_o a_o burden_n to_o bestow_v one_o day_n in_o seven_o upon_o he_o to_o be_v make_v partaker_n especial_o of_o such_o benefit_n and_o god_n have_v willing_o give_v we_o six_o for_o our_o call_n and_o may_v we_o not_o well_o afford_v the_o seven_o to_o our_o soul_n but_o we_o have_v such_o business_n we_o can_v do_v it_o but_o for_o matter_n of_o business_n god_n show_v two_o thing_n that_o if_o one_o will_v observe_v shall_v easy_o prevent_v these_o business_n first_o six_o day_n shall_v thou_o do_v all_o thy_o work_n where_o he_o show_v that_o if_o one_o will_v labour_v faithful_o and_o conscionablie_o in_o their_o call_n upon_o six_o day_n they_o may_v well_o dispatch_v their_o business_n but_o indeed_o this_o make_v man_n so_o loath_a to_o give_v a_o seven_o day_n to_o god_n because_o have_v be_v idle_a and_o unthriftie_a on_o the_o six_o they_o have_v neglect_v some_o business_n that_o now_o lie_v upon_o they_o the_o seven_o day_n and_o then_o it_o be_v a_o great_a burden_n indeed_o and_o impossible_a for_o such_o to_o keep_v it_o but_o they_o must_v loose_v by_o it_o but_o god_n commandment_n bring_v no_o such_o loss_n their_o own_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o it_o and_o if_o this_o be_v not_o the_o cause_n than_o the_o other_o be_v man_n take_v more_o upon_o they_o than_o their_o own_o work_n for_o if_o one_o take_v nothing_o but_o his_o work_n he_o may_v dispatch_v all_o well_o in_o six_o day_n if_o one_o serve_v god_n in_o his_o call_n his_o calling_z will_v not_o hinder_v he_o from_o keep_v god_n commandment_n but_o if_o one_o serve_v covetousness_n and_o filthy_a lucre_n than_o indeed_o he_o can_v find_v no_o time_n to_o serve_v god_n when_o man_n in_o haste_n to_o be_v rich_a and_o eager_a desire_n of_o wealth_n will_v take_v more_o in_o their_o hand_n then_o they_o can_v manage_v this_o be_v their_o fault_n and_o all_o this_o be_v not_o their_o work_n but_o the_o work_n of_o their_o lust_n this_o be_v to_o be_v a_o busy_a body_n but_o let_v any_o man_n be_v faithful_a in_o his_o call_n on_o the_o six_o day_n and_o not_o through_o greediness_n encumber_v himself_o with_o more_o than_o be_v needful_a and_o he_o shall_v see_v he_o may_v easy_o keep_v this_o seven_o to_o god_n there_o be_v no_o cause_n of_o such_o complain_n against_o it_o and_o indeed_o to_o a_o spiritual_a hart_n that_o have_v any_o grace_n &_o measure_n of_o god_n spirit_n how_o ever_o it_o seem_v to_o carnal_a man_n it_o be_v most_o just_a and_o equal_a yea_o most_o sweet_a and_o comfortable_a so_o that_o they_o can_v with_o all_o their_o heart_n thank_v god_n that_o he_o have_v give_v they_o one_o day_n wherein_o they_o may_v lighten_v their_o heart_n of_o all_o worldly_a care_n and_o throw_v of_o all_o grief_n &_o thought_n of_o debt_n or_o such_o like_a to_o give_v themselves_o whole_o to_o seek_v comfort_n in_o he_o that_o will_v provide_v for_o they_o in_o due_a time_n and_o have_v provide_v this_o sabbath_n as_o a_o ease_n unto_o they_o that_o they_o shall_v not_o trouble_v themselves_o with_o any_o such_o thought_n on_o that_o day_n and_o thus_o much_o to_o prove_v that_o the_o keep_n of_o a_o seven_o day_n and_o spend_v it_o in_o holy_a duty_n be_v a_o moral_a law_n and_o perpetual_a and_o belong_v unto_o we_o as_o well_o as_o to_o the_o jew_n and_o so_o much_o the_o more_o unto_o we_o because_o we_o have_v more_o excellent_a mean_n a_o great_a perfection_n be_v require_v of_o us._n as_o also_o to_o show_v that_o every_o one_o must_v make_v a_o preparation_n for_o the_o sabbath_n both_o by_o dispatch_v his_o business_n as_o nothing_o may_v be_v leave_v undo_v till_o the_o sabbath_n and_o by_o behave_v himself_o so_o in_o the_o business_n as_o his_o affection_n may_v not_o be_v to_o much_o tie_v unto_o they_o for_o the_o former_a will_v hinder_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o sabbath_n and_o the_o latter_a the_o holiness_n of_o it_o therefore_o that_o we_o may_v keep_v a_o holy_a rest_n he_o must_v do_v all_o that_o he_o have_v to_o do_v upon_o the_o six_o day_n and_o if_o he_o take_v more_o upon_o he_o than_o he_o can_v finish_v in_o the_o space_n of_o six_o day_n it_o be_v more_o than_o god_n lay_v upon_o he_o and_o he_o do_v not_o labour_n for_o conscience_n sake_n but_o for_o covetousness_n sake_n and_o this_o be_v not_o his_o work_n but_o the_o work_n of_o his_o corruption_n and_o then_o second_o a_o man_n must_v draw_v his_o hart_n from_o the_o love_n of_o the_o world_n &_o worldly_a thing_n and_o then_o neither_o worldly_a loss_n will_v fill_v his_o hart_n full_a of_o worldly_a grief_n nor_o commodity_n with_o worldly_a delight_n which_o two_o thing_n will_v hinder_v he_o from_o delight_v in_o spiritual_a exercise_n so_o that_o he_o that_o will_v empty_v his_o hand_n of_o all_o worldly_a business_n and_o his_o hart_n of_o worldly_a affection_n shall_v be_v able_a with_o comfort_n to_o keep_v a_o rest_n and_o a_o holy_a rest_n unto_o god_n and_o for_o the_o first_o reason_n draw_v from_o the_o equity_n of_o god_n commandment_n that_o have_v give_v we_o the_o large_a allowance_n of_o six_o day_n and_o take_v the_o small_a pittance_n of_o one_o day_n unto_o himself_o have_v deal_v in_o great_a equity_n with_o we_o so_o that_o one_o must_v not_o go_v about_o to_o make_v hypocritical_a shift_n and_o excuse_n for_o if_o he_o do_v it_o be_v not_o from_o the_o hardness_n of_o the_o law_n but_o the_o hardness_n of_o his_o hart_n not_o from_o difficulty_n in_o the_o thing_n but_o want_v of_o love_n in_o the_o person_n for_o nothing_o be_v so_o easy_a but_o a_o worldly_a hart_n that_o love_v not_o god_n will_v be_v shift_v and_o have_v some_o odd_a reason_n against_o it_o now_o we_o must_v speak_v of_o the_o second_o reason_n it_o be_v the_o sabbath_n of_o the_o lord_n thy_o god_n in_o which_o god_n let_v we_o know_v that_o he_o which_o be_v our_o god_n and_o the_o mighty_a strong_a god_n have_v impropriate_v this_o to_o himself_o as_o his_o own_o possession_n set_v a_o part_n for_o his_o own_o service_n therefore_o we_o must_v willing_o
sabbath_n day_n when_o he_o come_v home_n either_o his_o master_n or_o dame_n allow_v he_o in_o it_o or_o else_o they_o be_v mute_a and_o say_v nothing_o to_o he_o or_o if_o they_o do_v begin_v to_o reproove_v he_o it_o be_v do_v so_o cold_o so_o careless_o with_o so_o little_a vehemency_n that_o the_o servant_n may_v well_o perceive_v it_o come_v from_o the_o tooth_n outward_a his_o master_n be_v not_o great_o sorry_a within_o it_o never_o vex_v his_o hart_n for_o the_o matter_n and_o therefore_o he_o care_v not_o for_o such_o chide_n he_o will_v to_o it_o the_o next_o sabbath_n again_o then_o second_o this_o serve_v for_o the_o instruction_n of_o all_o householder_n that_o desire_v to_o be_v indeed_o as_o well_o as_o to_o be_v account_v christian_n that_o they_o shall_v have_v a_o eye_n to_o their_o servant_n in_o the_o keep_n of_o the_o sabbath_n even_o as_o one_o the_o week_n day_n they_o will_v call_v they_o up_o and_o see_v that_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o their_o business_n so_o on_o the_o sabbath_n call_v they_o up_o in_o the_o morning_n &_o see_v that_o they_o be_v ready_a for_o the_o work_n of_o god_n especial_o since_o the_o work_n of_o their_o call_n be_v such_o as_o they_o may_v do_v without_o any_o great_a preparation_n a_o man_n may_v rise_v out_o of_o his_o bed_n and_o go_v straight_o and_o hold_v the_o plough_n or_o drive_v the_o cart_n as_o well_o as_o if_o he_o have_v a_o hour_n consideration_n but_o unless_o one_o have_v sometime_o to_o disburden_v his_o hart_n of_o worldly_a thought_n and_o to_o fit_v himself_o by_o prayer_n &_o holy_a meditation_n to_o hear_v the_o word_n he_o can_v never_o do_v it_o well_o nor_o so_o as_o the_o word_n will_v be_v profitable_a unto_o he_o therefore_o they_o must_v be_v stir_v up_o that_o they_o may_v have_v time_n to_o make_v ready_a their_o heart_n that_o they_o come_v before_o god_n with_o a_o quiet_a a_o empty_a mind_n now_o in_o this_o duty_n many_o of_o god_n child_n fail_v that_o even_o themselves_o and_o their_o whole_a family_n take_v liberty_n to_o sleep_v out_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o morning_n and_o think_v it_o enough_o to_o rise_v and_o go_v to_o church_n not_o regard_v any_o time_n of_o preparation_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o exercise_n be_v so_o uncomfortable_a and_o unprofitable_a to_o they_o and_o then_o secondlie_o the_o master_n must_v be_v careful_a to_o have_v his_o family_n come_v with_o he_o in_o good_a &_o due_a season_n to_o the_o house_n of_o god_n with_o the_o whole_a congregation_n not_o as_o many_o do_v that_o be_v so_o negligent_a as_o much_o be_v past_a before_o they_o come_v the_o wife_n come_v at_o the_o second_o lesson_n &_o he_o drop_v in_o at_o the_o end_n of_o prayer_n and_o the_o servant_n follow_v when_o half_o be_v do_v they_o will_v not_o do_v thus_o to_o harvest_n work_n but_o he_o will_v make_v they_o get_v all_o thing_n ready_a that_o they_o go_v together_o to_o get_v in_o his_o corn_n and_o in_o the_o house_n of_o god_n to_o come_v joyfullie_o himself_o and_o his_o wife_n and_o bring_v their_o family_n with_o they_o that_o they_o may_v be_v at_o the_o beginning_n and_o tarry_v out_o till_o the_o end_n that_o they_o may_v have_v the_o whole_a fruit_n and_o not_o as_o some_o do_v be_v go_v before_o the_o sermon_n end_n or_o at_o least_o run_v away_o before_o the_o prayer_n be_v make_v for_o a_o blessing_n and_o the_o blessing_n pronounce_v by_o the_o minister_n which_o show_v they_o never_o feel_v the_o goodness_n of_o the_o blessing_n they_o be_v so_o loath_a to_o tarry_v the_o minister_n prayer_n because_o they_o want_v the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n themselves_o and_o can_v tell_v the_o benefit_n of_o a_o faithful_a prayer_n for_o if_o the_o sweetness_n of_o god_n supplication_n to_o god_n for_o their_o good_a and_o as_o they_o must_v call_v they_o up_o in_o the_o morning_n so_o a_o other_o duty_n be_v to_o examine_v they_o after_o and_o call_v they_o to_o account_v how_o they_o have_v profit_v as_o if_o man_n servant_n be_v send_v to_o the_o market_n they_o will_v not_o let_v they_o go_v without_o take_v account_n how_o they_o have_v do_v their_o business_n and_o what_o market_n they_o have_v make_v so_o when_o they_o come_v from_o the_o church_n they_o come_v from_o the_o market_n of_o their_o soul_n they_o shall_v question_v with_o they_o to_o see_v what_o good_a bargain_n they_o have_v make_v for_o their_o soul_n what_o profit_n they_o have_v have_v by_o come_v to_o god_n ordinance_n and_o thus_o lay_v their_o store_n together_o to_o if_o they_o call_v they_o and_o will_v instruct_v they_o in_o religion_n they_o will_v none_o of_o that_o but_o you_o hire_v i_o say_v they_o to_o do_v your_o work_n and_o take_v my_o wage_n and_o there_o a_o end_n what_o need_v all_o this_o do_v about_o keep_v the_o sabbath_n and_o come_v to_o the_o sermon_n let_v i_o look_v to_o that_o myself_o nay_o but_o if_o they_o be_v god_n servant_n and_o you_o god_n servant_n your_o master_n hire_v you_o to_o do_v god_n work_v and_o in_o the_o lord_n to_o do_v their_o work_n therefore_o this_o be_v a_o profane_a answer_n and_o these_o be_v ill_a servant_n but_o much_o more_o vild_a be_v they_o that_o will_v run_v abroad_o to_o wickedness_n to_o dance_v to_o swill_v to_o wantonness_n etc._n etc._n make_v that_o their_o sabbath_n day_n work_v every_o day_n but_o much_o more_o vild_a and_o abominable_a upon_o the_o sabbath_n day_n therefore_o such_o servant_n must_v by_o force_n be_v constrain_v not_o to_o violate_v god_n sabbath_n or_o if_o no_o mean_n will_v serve_v a_o christian_n master_n must_v not_o have_v his_o house_n pester_v with_o such_o open_a rebel_n against_o god_n thus_o much_o god_n show_v the_o duty_n of_o be_v belong_v to_o we_o but_o so_o far_o as_o we_o can_v even_o to_o stranger_n or_o to_o any_o other_o and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o be_v commend_v in_o nehemiah_n that_o when_o the_o man_n of_o sidon_n that_o

must_v be_v spend_v both_o morning_n night_n and_o all_o the_o day_n in_o holy_a duty_n one_o must_v forbear_v worldly_a business_n yea_o worldly_a thought_n the_o whole_a four_o &_o and_z twenty_o hour_n for_o if_o one_o give_v his_o thought_n liberty_n to_o run_v after_o matter_n of_o the_o world_n in_o the_o night_n he_o break_v the_o sabbath_n in_o one_o part_n sleep_v one_o may_v lawful_o or_o to_o go_v about_o their_o business_n if_o occasion_n be_v but_o he_o that_o command_v to_o keep_v it_o in_o the_o church_n bid_v we_o keep_v it_o in_o the_o house_n as_o to_o hear_v he_o and_o speak_v to_o he_o in_o public_a so_o to_o speak_v to_o he_o out_o of_o our_o heart_n in_o private_a &_o not_o to_o give_v ourselves_o leave_v to_o think_v the_o least_o thought_n of_o any_o worldly_a great_a posterity_n but_o this_o be_v proper_a to_o these_o that_o be_v in_o some_o affliction_n and_o misery_n now_o this_o compassion_n and_o mercy_n be_v to_o have_v a_o fellow_n feel_v of_o the_o holdfast_v and_o spare_v for_o work_n of_o mercy_n that_o one_o can_v hardly_o wring_v a_o penny_n from_o they_o by_o all_o the_o persuasion_n he_o can_v make_v and_o what_o be_v the_o matter_n they_o
