we_o make_v in_o time_n of_o sickness_n and_o danger_n and_o distress_n if_o you_o consider_v these_o particular_n 1._o deceitful_a that_o one_o great_a deceit_n of_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n do_v appear_v in_o this_o in_o be_v forward_o to_o purpose_n in_o ourselves_o and_o promise_v unto_o god_n but_o be_v backward_o to_o perform_v in_o time_n of_o sickness_n what_o resolution_n do_v man_n make_v what_o purpose_n have_v they_o in_o themselves_o to_o mend_v and_o turn_v to_o god_n and_o seem_v to_o promise_v this_o with_o tear_n in_o their_o eye_n and_o sorrow_n in_o their_o heart_n speak_v and_o when_o they_o think_v the_o danger_n be_v past_a and_o their_o fear_n remove_v do_v nothing_o less_o than_o what_o they_o promise_v i_o have_v know_v some_o upon_o sick_a bed_n so_o to_o promise_v that_o they_o will_v be_v drink_v no_o more_o etc._n etc._n and_o yet_o when_o health_n have_v be_v restore_v have_v return_v to_o their_o wickedness_n so_o do_v pharaoh_n promise_v fair_a when_o the_o plague_n of_o god_n be_v upon_o the_o land_n that_o he_o will_v let_v the_o child_n of_o israel_n go_v but_o when_o the_o plague_n have_v be_v remove_v he_o have_v harden_v his_o heart_n against_o they_o more_o than_o before_o and_o this_o he_o often_o do_v exod._n 8.8_o 15._o &_o 9.27_o 28_o 34_o &_o 10.16_o 17_o 20._o now_o this_o deceitfulness_n of_o the_o heart_n be_v yet_o in_o all_o sin_n it_o will_v contend_v that_o your_o resolution_n may_v not_o be_v perpetual_a that_o you_o send_v it_o not_o away_o for_o ever_o but_o only_o till_o your_o danger_n of_o death_n be_v over_o and_o your_o fear_n thereof_o be_v cease_v that_o then_o it_o may_v be_v receive_v into_o your_o heart_n be_v your_o favourite_n again_o or_o if_o you_o do_v resolve_v to_o part_v with_o sin_n peremptory_o universal_o and_o perpetual_o yet_o after_o a_o while_o it_o will_v solicit_v you_o to_o change_v your_o resolution_n or_o if_o you_o will_v not_o change_v it_o it_o will_v solicit_v you_o to_o abate_v the_o strength_n and_o vehemency_n thereof_o and_o will_v come_v and_o offer_v you_o so_o much_o delight_n and_o so_o much_o pleasure_n and_o so_o much_o profit_n if_o you_o will_v not_o be_v so_o severe_a against_o it_o if_o you_o be_v not_o careful_a it_o will_v encroach_v upon_o your_o heart_n and_o insinuate_v and_o wind_v itself_o into_o your_o love_n and_o delight_n and_o
