impropriety_n to_o say_v it_o be_v ourselves_o again_o 2._o it_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o affinity_n with_o god_n than_o with_o we_o we_o be_v its_o true_a the_o subject_n of_o it_o but_o it_o be_v his_o immediate_a production_n and_o very_a likeness_n a_o divine_a nature_n no_o humane_a thing_n therefore_o if_o here_o our_o delight_n be_v to_o terminate_v it_o be_v more_o proper_a to_o it_o be_v then_o in_o itself_o so_o delectable_a as_o without_o the_o assurance_n of_o our_o future_a safe_a and_o happy_a state_n though_o that_o in_o that_o case_n be_v not_o likely_a to_o be_v in_o a_o comfortable_a degree_n want_v that_o be_v not_o by_o it_o only_o but_o by_o itself_o without_o the_o present_a constant_a necessary_a concurrence_n thereof_o to_o afford_v unspeakable_a pleasure_n to_o that_o soul_n in_o which_o it_o have_v place_n so_o that_o the_o get_n of_o assurance_n be_v not_o the_o only_a thing_n to_o be_v do_v in_o order_n to_o a_o person_n delight_v in_o god_n of_o which_o more_o hereafter_o be_v intend_v to_o be_v say_v in_o the_o directive_n part_n but_o though_o that_o be_v not_o the_o only_a thing_n yet_o it_o be_v a_o very_a great_a thing_n and_o be_v superad_v make_v a_o great_a addition_n to_o the_o matter_n of_o delight_n therefore_o we_o further_o say_v this_o divine_a communication_n be_v delectable_a as_o it_o include_v in_o it_o the_o manifestation_n of_o god_n love_n to_o the_o soul_n in_o particular_a nor_o do_v we_o hereby_o intend_v a_o enthusiastical_a assurance_n or_o such_o a_o testification_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n to_o the_o soul_n as_o exclude_v any_o reference_n to_o his_o external_a revelation_n and_o exercise_n of_o our_o own_o enlighten_v reason_n and_o judgement_n thereupon_o or_o wherein_o these_o be_v your_o knowledge_n or_o the_o conception_n you_o have_v of_o god_n may_v be_v more_o distinct_a and_o clear_a for_o observe_v whether_o when_o you_o will_v apply_v yourself_o to_o delight_n in_o he_o this_o be_v not_o the_o next_o or_o at_o least_o one_o great_a obstruction_n after_o that_o of_o a_o indispose_a carnal_a heart_n that_o though_o you_o will_v and_o you_o know_v it_o be_v fit_a you_o shall_v do_v so_o you_o know_v not_o how_o to_o go_v about_o it_o for_o you_o be_v at_o a_o loss_n what_o or_o how_o to_o conceive_v of_o he_o but_o be_v it_o fit_v it_o shall_v be_v always_o thus_o all_o upon_o what_o you_o have_v already_o find_v and_o experience_v of_o his_o goodness_n it_o shall_v be_v abundant_o the_o more_o upon_o what_o you_o be_v by_o his_o word_n encourage_v to_o look_v for_o and_o have_v thus_o give_v some_o account_n in_o what_o way_n delight_n in_o god_n be_v to_o be_v exercise_v and_o improve_v it_o be_v a_o charitable_a hope_n that_o there_o will_v be_v little_a need_n to_o propound_v argument_n to_o persuade_v unto_o it_o but_o it_o be_v a_o hope_v not_o ground_v upon_o common_a experience_n which_o too_o plain_o tell_v we_o that_o though_o such_o direction_n as_o these_o be_v plain_a and_o obvious_a not_o unknown_a to_o christian_n but_o only_o less_o consider_v whence_o it_o be_v not_o needless_a here_o to_o recommend_v they_o yet_o delight_n in_o god_n obtain_v little_a place_n in_o the_o practice_n of_o the_o most_o there_o will_v therefore_o too_o probable_o be_v still_o much_o need_n of_o excitation_n to_o it_o and_o yet_o because_o it_o be_v not_o multitude_n of_o word_n that_o be_v likely_a to_o do_v the_o business_n but_o the_o weight_n of_o thing_n urge_v on_o by_o a_o more_o powerful_a hand_n than_o that_o of_o man_n and_o
