peason_n as_o first_o by_o this_o mean_n sometime_o their_o corruption_n and_o sin_n be_v hide_v as_o you_o that_o have_v many_o servant_n that_o be_v naught_o and_o vile_a they_o will_v be_v very_o affect_v not_o only_o be_v exercise_v in_o the_o ordinary_a duty_n but_o in_o extraordinary_a fast_v and_o prayer_n not_o only_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n but_o repeat_v it_o in_o their_o family_n afterward_o not_o only_o pray_v here_o but_o pray_v in_o their_o family_n and_o closet_n yet_o so_o as_o to_o cover_v their_o corruption_n to_o cover_v their_o very_a filthiness_n now_o these_o duty_n be_v very_o easy_a or_o second_o which_o be_v a_o amore_fw-la close_a way_n because_o it_o satisfy_v their_o conscience_n their_o conscience_n will_v not_o be_v at_o quiet_a except_o they_o do_v something_o a_o man_n and_o woman_n that_o walk_v in_o a_o carnal_a way_n that_o have_v a_o vile_a spirit_n a_o sensual_a spirit_n in_o his_o constant_a way_n and_o course_n if_o such_o a_o one_o shall_v not_o do_v some_o good_a thing_n have_v some_o enlighten_v of_o mind_n his_o conscience_n be_v somewhat_o awaken_v and_o stir_v he_o can_v not_o be_v at_o quiet_a if_o he_o do_v not_o now_o and_o then_o pray_v and_o now_o and_o then_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o desire_v sacrament_n his_o conscience_n will_v fly_v in_o his_o face_n and_o will_v not_o be_v at_o quiet_a now_o have_v many_o secret_a corruption_n that_o he_o be_v loath_a to_o part_v with_o he_o be_v content_a to_o do_v something_o to_o take_v a_o book_n and_o read_v a_o chapter_n and_o go_v into_o his_o closet_n and_o pray_v in_o his_o family_n and_o will_v not_o neglect_v the_o word_n but_o come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n all_o the_o lord_n day_n come_v twice_o and_o thrice_o to_o yea_o and_o what_o though_o some_o thing_n may_v be_v easy_a yet_o some_o other_o be_v very_o hard_a as_o you_o will_v say_v to_o the_o discipline_n of_o christ_n in_o his_o church_n be_v that_o easy_a be_v not_o that_o hard_a and_o what_o will_v you_o say_v to_o the_o suffering_n that_o christ_n require_v of_o his_o people_n do_v it_o not_o seem_v very_o hard_o answ_n now_o to_o clear_v way_n of_o god_n 3._o they_o be_v weak_a and_o have_v not_o the_o strength_n that_o shall_v carry_v they_o on_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n indeed_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v difficult_a to_o think_v comfort_n and_o have_v nothing_o to_o make_v up_o their_o comfort_n this_o must_v needs_o be_v difficult_a and_o hard_a and_o so_o many_o ground_n may_v be_v show_v that_o the_o way_n to_o heaven_n be_v hard_a to_o the_o man_n of_o the_o world_n a_o hard_a thing_n for_o they_o to_o enter_v upon_o the_o way_n to_o heaven_n and_o so_o it_o be_v straight_o to_o they_o in_o their_o esteem_n quest_n i_o but_o further_o be_v it_o not_o straight_o unto_o the_o saint_n even_o to_o the_o very_a disciple_n of_o christ_n do_v not_o they_o find_v difficulty_n in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n answ_n now_o for_o the_o answer_n of_o that_o to_o show_v how_o the_o way_n of_o god_n be_v easy_a notwithstanding_o what_o even_o those_o that_o be_v the_o people_n of_o god_n find_v in_o they_o and_o notwithstanding_o all_o their_o complaint_n those_o that_o be_v godly_a they_o say_v they_o find_v much_o difficulty_n in_o the_o way_n of_o religion_n 1._o it_o may_v be_v the_o difficulty_n thou_o speak_v of_o it_o be_v but_o in_o opinion_n rather_o than_o reality_n it_o be_v but_o a_o imaginary_a difficulty_n when_o thou_o look_v upon_o a_o duty_n a_o great_a way_n off_o oh_o thou_o think_v it_o be_v very_o hard_a but_o when_o thou_o come_v to_o it_o thou_o do_v not_o find_v it_o so_o hard_a i_o appeal_v to_o those_o that_o be_v acquaint_v with_o the_o way_n of_o god_n have_v it_o not_o be_v so_o with_o you_o that_o thing_n have_v seem_v to_o be_v hard_a and_o difficult_a a_o great_a way_n off_o but_o when_o you_o have_v come_v unto_o they_o &_o venture_v upon_o they_o you_o have_v not_o find_v they_o so_o it_o be_v just_a in_o this_o case_n for_o all_o the_o world_n like_a as_o it_o be_v with_o the_o woman_n that_o we_o read_v of_o in_o mark_n 16._o that_o go_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n of_o christ_n as_o they_o be_v go_v at_o verse_n 3_o o_o they_o be_v very_o solicitous_a about_o the_o stone_n that_o be_v roll_v upon_o the_o sepulchre_n who_o shall_v roâ—l_v away_o the_o stone_n but_o now_o when_o they_o come_v to_o the_o sepulchre_n the_o stone_n be_v roll_v away_o so_o it_o be_v here_o when_o there_o be_v many_o duty_n to_o be_v do_v it_o may_v be_v you_o cry_v out_o oh_o it_o be_v very_o hard_a and_o how_o shall_v we_o be_v able_a to_o do_v such_o a_o thing_n such_o a_o poor_a weak_a body_n as_o i_o be_o how_o shall_v i_o be_v able_a to_o do_v it_o but_o when_o you_o come_v to_o the_o duty_n you_o do_v not_o find_v it_o so_o i_o suppose_v there_o be_v many_o that_o at_o first_o think_v it_o a_o very_a difficult_a duty_n to_o keep_v a_o watch_n over_o their_o heart_n and_o to_o pray_v in_o their_o family_n and_o closet_n and_o to_o keep_v close_o to_o god_n but_o when_o they_o have_v come_v to_o the_o thing_n sometime_o when_o you_o have_v have_v no_o heart_n to_o pray_v when_o you_o have_v thought_n to_o go_v to_o prayer_n and_o you_o have_v think_v it_o impossible_a for_o you_o to_o make_v any_o work_n of_o it_o but_o when_o you_o have_v come_v to_o it_o you_o have_v find_v it_o before_o you_o have_v do_v to_o be_v a_o very_a sweet_a and_o comfortable_a duty_n you_o have_v find_v a_o stone_n hardness_n of_o heart_n and_o indisposition_n to_o the_o duty_n before_o you_o have_v come_v to_o the_o duty_n but_o when_o you_o have_v come_v to_o the_o work_n you_o have_v find_v the_o stone_n roll_v away_o and_o the_o work_v to_o get_v the_o neck_n into_o the_o collar_n to_o get_v the_o yoke_n upon_o the_o neck_n there_o lie_v the_o great_a difficulty_n when_o once_o you_o be_v in_o the_o yoke_n than_o you_o will_v find_v it_o easy_a the_o great_a difficulty_n many_o find_v in_o the_o way_n of_o religion_n it_o be_v their_o first_o entrance_n because_o they_o have_v not_o be_v accustom_v to_o such_o thing_n you_o shall_v have_v many_o time_n some_o kind_n of_o bullock_n that_o come_v into_o their_o yoke_n there_o be_v more_o stir_n to_o get_v their_o neck_n in_o to_o get_v their_o yoke_n upon_o their_o neck_n than_o there_o be_v for_o they_o to_o bear_v it_o afterward_o so_o there_o be_v with_o many_o man_n and_o woman_n a_o great_a deal_n of_o stir_n and_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o do_v to_o get_v their_o neck_n under_o christ_n yoke_n to_o come_v under_o the_o burden_n of_o the_o
yoke_n of_o christ_n but_o be_v they_o come_v in_o they_o will_v not_o find_v it_o so_o difficult_a sometime_o indeed_o the_o work_n of_o god_n in_o convert_v of_o a_o soul_n come_v to_o it_o so_o as_o the_o soul_n find_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difficulty_n the_o ministry_n of_o john_n by_o way_n of_o preparation_n come_v in_o a_o terrible_a way_n to_o make_v smooth_a the_o rough_a path_n and_o level_v the_o lofty_a hill_n come_v in_o a_o fiery_a way_n to_o prepare_v they_o many_o time_n it_o be_v very_o terrible_a and_o they_o find_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difficulty_n much_o trouble_n of_o conscience_n and_o terror_n at_o first_o i_o but_o this_o be_v but_o to_o get_v â—hy_a neck_n into_o the_o yoke_n this_o be_v not_o the_o difficulty_n of_o christ_n yoke_n but_o it_o be_v the_o bring_v thou_o under_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n therefore_o let_v not_o those_o that_o god_n be_v beginning_n to_o stir_v they_o in_o awaknâ—ng_v their_o conscience_n be_v offend_v because_o they_o find_v difficulty_n because_o they_o find_v the_o way_n of_o god_n terrible_a to_o they_o and_o conscience_n terrible_a to_o they_o and_o they_o find_v the_o flash_n of_o hell_n upon_o their_o spirit_n be_v not_o offend_v because_o thou_o have_v more_o trouble_n now_o then_o before_o it_o be_v but_o in_o get_v that_o unruly_a spirit_n of_o thou_o under_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n if_o once_o thy_o spirit_n be_v subdue_v to_o jesus_n christ_n and_o bring_v under_o his_o yoke_n thou_o will_v not_o find_v it_o so_o terrible_a and_o it_o may_v be_v the_o more_o terror_n thou_o have_v now_o the_o more_o sweetness_n and_o comfort_n thou_o will_v find_v afterward_o three_o thou_o complain_v of_o difficulty_n that_o thou_o find_v in_o god_n way_n do_v not_o therefore_o complain_v of_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n it_o may_v be_v it_o be_v from_o the_o distemper_n of_o thy_o own_o heart_n not_o from_o christ_n yoke_n we_o know_v that_o a_o light_a yoke_n to_o one_o that_o have_v a_o sore_a neck_n seem_v to_o be_v very_o grievous_a but_o the_o fault_n be_v not_o in_o the_o yoke_n but_o in_o the_o soreness_n of_o the_o neck_n if_o the_o neck_n be_v sound_a and_o make_v whole_a the_o yoke_n will_v seem_v light_n so_o it_o be_v with_o many_o that_o profess_v religion_n and_o it_o may_v be_v have_v true_a grace_n they_o find_v the_o yoke_n very_o haâ—d_a to_o they_o and_o they_o complain_v of_o the_o yoke_n and_o think_v that_o which_o christ_n require_v of_o they_o be_v grievous_a to_o they_o but_o true_o it_o be_v the_o distemper_n of_o thy_o heart_n and_o the_o unsoundness_n of_o thy_o spirit_n that_o make_v it_o so_o if_o so_o be_v thy_o heart_n be_v but_o heal_v if_o thy_o hearâ—_n be_v but_o sound_a thou_o will_v not_o find_v any_o such_o difficulty_n in_o any_o way_n of_o christ_n in_o 2_o tim._n 1._o 7._o there_o the_o spirit_n of_o power_n of_o love_n and_o of_o a_o sound_a mind_n be_v join_v together_o where_o there_o be_v a_o sound_a mind_n a_o sound_a spirit_n theâ—e_n will_v be_v power_n there_o will_v be_v strength_n there_o will_v be_v love_n and_o sweetness_n but_o where_o the_o mind_n and_o the_o heart_n be_v unsound_a and_o distemper_v there_o you_o will_v find_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difficulty_n in_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n so_o that_o i_o say_v where_o you_o find_v the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n difficult_a do_v not_o complain_v of_o that_o so_o much_o as_o of_o your_o own_o heart_n and_o labour_n to_o heal_v your_o own_o soul_n and_o then_o it_o it_o will_v not_o be_v so_o difficult_a and_o that_o be_v the_o three_o answer_n i_o will_v give_v to_o the_o godly_a that_o yet_o find_v difficulty_n in_o the_o way_n of_o religion_n it_o be_v not_o because_o of_o the_o yoke_n but_o it_o be_v because_o you_o be_v not_o enough_o under_o the_o yoke_n that_o be_v the_o difficulty_n if_o your_o heart_n be_v under_o it_o more_o than_o it_o be_v it_o will_v not_o be_v so_o difficult_a and_o this_o expression_n may_v serve_v to_o enlighten_v we_o into_o the_o four_o answer_n which_o be_v this_o four_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n may_v seem_v to_o be_v hard_o but_o it_o be_v because_o of_o the_o disorder_a carriage_n of_o thy_o spirit_n when_o thou_o be_v under_o it_o not_o only_o from_o a_o distemper_a heart_n that_o thy_o heart_n have_v distemper_n and_o habitual_a corruption_n but_o now_o when_o thou_o be_v do_v a_o duty_n thou_o do_v behave_v thyself_o in_o a_o disorderly_a way_n in_o the_o performance_n of_o the_o duty_n the_o disorderly_a behaviour_n of_o thy_o heart_n in_o the_o performance_n of_o duty_n as_o now_o we_o know_v it_o be_v with_o some_o bullock_n some_o creature_n that_o be_v unruly_a when_o they_o be_v in_o the_o yoke_n they_o keep_v such_o a_o stir_n and_o riggle_v this_o way_n and_o that_o way_n and_o they_o be_v so_o unquiet_a when_o they_o be_v under_o the_o yoke_n that_o they_o toil_n and_o trouble_v themselves_o abundant_o more_o than_o another_o that_o can_v carry_v the_o yoke_n quiet_o that_o go_v on_o quiet_o with_o his_o yoke_n so_o it_o be_v with_o many_o christian_n when_o they_o be_v in_o the_o performance_n of_o duty_n if_o they_o can_v do_v it_o as_o they_o will_v they_o do_v so_o vex_v and_o fret_v and_o be_v so_o disquiet_v in_o their_o spirit_n and_o so_o tumultuous_a in_o their_o spirit_n and_o be_v ready_a to_o cast_v it_o off_o conscience_n will_v keep_v it_o on_o and_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o cast_v it_o off_o there_o be_v such_o a_o disorderliness_n of_o spirit_n and_o such_o tumultuousness_n of_o spirit_n this_o make_v duty_n difficult_a whereas_o now_o when_o thou_o be_v in_o performance_n of_o duty_n if_o thou_o can_v be_v under_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n with_o a_o calm_a quiet_a spirit_n and_o carry_v it_o in_o a_o meek_a way_n oh_o the_o sweetness_n that_o thou_o will_v find_v there_o how_o many_o time_n shall_v you_o have_v many_o people_n that_o when_o they_o go_v to_o prayer_n if_o they_o can_v pray_v as_o they_o will_v do_v than_o they_o vex_v and_o fret_v and_o be_v ready_a to_o think_v to_o pray_v no_o more_o and_o why_o shall_v they_o pray_v any_o more_o they_o be_v so_o disturb_v in_o the_o duty_n they_o think_v it_o be_v better_a to_o cast_v it_o off_o and_o they_o begin_v to_o have_v hard_a thought_n of_o the_o duty_n and_o so_o their_o spirit_n be_v all_o in_o a_o dâ—stemper_n and_o disorderly_a work_n present_o and_o there_o be_v the_o difficulty_n whereas_o another_o though_o he_o can_v do_v what_o he_o will_v yet_o he_o have_v a_o humble_a dispose_n to_o god_n and_o think_v i_o will_v try_v another_o time_n may_v be_v god_n may_v come_v in_o another_o time_n still_o i_o love_v the_o duty_n the_o law_n be_v good_a the_o duty_n be_v just_a and_o good_a and_o though_o through_o the_o untowardness_n of_o my_o spirit_n i_o can_v do_v it_o now_o yet_o i_o hope_v god_n will_v come_v at_o another_o time_n i_o will_v do_v my_o duty_n and_o leave_v it_o to_o god_n to_o come_v in_o when_o he_o please_v as_o you_o hear_v before_o when_o the_o bullock_n or_o the_o heifer_n that_o bear_v the_o yoke_n if_o he_o go_v on_o quier_o his_o yoke_n be_v not_o so_o grievous_a but_o if_o he_o fling_v this_o way_n and_o that_o way_n and_o turn_v to_o this_o side_n and_o that_o side_n every_o way_n he_o make_v his_o yoke_n grievous_a to_o he_o and_o so_o it_o be_v with_o many_o christian_n it_o be_v the_o disorderly_a carriage_n of_o people_n under_o this_o yoke_n that_o make_v it_o so_o difficult_a five_o thou_o complain_v and_o say_v this_o yoke_n be_v hard_a consider_v that_o the_o cast_n of_o the_o yoke_n off_o will_v be_v a_o great_a deal_n hard_o and_o therefore_o there_o be_v no_o cause_n to_o complain_v can_v a_o man_n in_o a_o rational_a way_n complain_v of_o a_o yoke_n to_o be_v hard_a whenas_o the_o cast_n of_o the_o yoke_n off_o will_v be_v a_o hard_a thing_n than_o the_o bear_n of_o it_o therefore_o the_o hebrew_n word_n that_o signify_v sin_n signify_v also_o labour_n and_o trouble_v there_o be_v more_o trouble_n if_o thou_o shall_v cast_v off_o the_o yoke_n thou_o will_v find_v more_o distress_n of_o spirit_n and_o more_o difficulty_n in_o cast_v off_o the_o yoke_n then_o to_o be_v under_o the_o yoke_n it_o be_v true_a those_o that_o be_v carnal_a and_o wicked_a do_v not_o find_v it_o so_o but_o if_o thou_o have_v grace_n if_o thou_o shall_v cast_v off_o the_o duty_n because_o of_o the_o difficulty_n thou_o will_v find_v it_o more_o difficult_a to_o be_v without_o the_o duty_n then_o to_o perform_v it_o as_o i_o will_v instance_n to_o your_o own_o experience_n you_o fiend_n sometime_o that_o your_o heart_n be_v loath_a to_o come_v off_o to_o prayer_n
in_o a_o morning_n or_o if_o you_o do_v pray_v you_o do_v it_o slight_o now_o do_v not_o you_o find_v your_o heart_n off_o the_o hook_n all_o the_o day_n long_o after_o have_v not_o you_o more_o trouble_v all_o the_o day_n long_o when_o your_o conscience_n tell_v you_o that_o you_o shall_v go_v and_o seek_v god_n and_o pray_v i_o but_o other_o thing_n be_v more_o easy_a and_o that_o be_v a_o hard_a thing_n and_o therefore_o you_o neglect_v it_o now_o do_v not_o you_o find_v it_o more_o dificult_a to_o be_v with_o out_o prayer_n in_o a_o morning_n then_o be_v in_o all_o the_o labour_n of_o prayer_n compare_v one_o day_n with_o another_o and_o see_v which_o be_v the_o easy_a the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v upon_o david_n may_v be_v somewhat_o hard_a to_o the_o flesh_n but_o the_o cast_n off_o the_o yoke_n break_v his_o bone_n therefore_o in_o psal_n 51._o he_o cry_v to_o god_n to_o restore_v to_o he_o the_o joy_n of_o his_o salvation_n and_o to_o heal_v those_o bone_n of_o his_o that_o be_v break_v that_o the_o bone_n that_o thou_o have_v break_v may_v rejoice_v that_o expression_n the_o prophet_n have_v psalm_n 51._o vers_fw-la 8._o make_v i_o to_o hear_v joy_n and_o may_v be_v it_o be_v not_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v upon_o thou_o that_o be_v so_o heavy_a upon_o thou_o if_o thou_o examine_v it_o again_o perhaps_o thou_o shall_v find_v it_o be_v of_o the_o devil_n to_o weary_v they_o and_o tire_v they_o by_o put_v they_o upon_o duty_n unreasonable_o when_o he_o can_v by_o temptation_n hinder_v they_o from_o duty_n than_o he_o labour_v to_o weary_a and_o tire_v they_o by_o put_v they_o unreasonable_o upon_o duty_n as_o i_o have_v know_v some_o they_o can_v not_o be_v at_o their_o work_n a_o quarter_n of_o a_o hour_n but_o sudden_o they_o must_v leave_v all_o and_o go_v to_o prayer_n and_o they_o think_v it_o be_v the_o motion_n of_o god_n spirit_n and_o the_o dictate_v of_o conscience_n and_o they_o think_v they_o must_v not_o neglect_v it_o and_o so_o make_v their_o life_n uncomfortable_a upon_o that_o ground_n whereas_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n put_v people_n upon_o duty_n seasonable_o every_o thing_n in_o its_o right_a order_n and_o right_a way_n and_o in_o its_o due_a time_n it_o will_v put_v you_o upon_o prayer_n in_o a_o fit_a time_n and_o put_v you_o upon_o duty_n of_o your_o call_n in_o a_o fit_a time_n and_o when_o it_o come_v unreasonable_o to_o disquiet_v you_o it_o be_v rather_o a_o suggestion_n of_o satan_n to_o disquiet_v you_o then_o to_o make_v you_o to_o obey_v christ_n yoke_n 2._o may_v be_v it_o be_v not_o the_o yoke_n of_o christ_n but_o mere_o the_o yoke_n of_o the_o law_n as_o thus_o though_o it_o may_v be_v the_o same_o thing_n that_o christ_n will_v have_v you_o do_v yet_o you_o may_v know_v of_o he_o or_o esteem_v of_o he_o but_o according_a to_o what_o he_o know_v and_o esteem_v of_o himself_o it_o be_v a_o speech_n of_o another_o heathen_a do_v not_o believe_v other_o of_o that_o have_v any_o acquaintance_n with_o their_o own_o heart_n to_o be_v humble_a to_o suffer_v any_o outward_a meanness_n to_o be_v willing_a to_o suffer_v any_o thing_n that_o may_v make_v they_o low_o outward_o why_o because_o of_o the_o great_a mercy_n of_o god_n to_o conceal_v from_o man_n what_o evil_a be_v in_o they_o thou_o be_v loath_a to_o suffer_v some_o outward_a affliction_n but_o if_o god_n shall_v discover_v to_o all_o the_o world_n all_o that_o evil_a that_o be_v in_o thou_o and_o that_o thou_o be_v conscious_a to_o thyself_o of_o yea_o take_v the_o best_a man_n and_o under_o these_o three_o notion_n 1._o they_o be_v thing_n beneath_o the_o true_a excellency_n of_o a_o immortal_a soul_n the_o way_n to_o cure_v sinful_a pride_n be_v to_o have_v a_o holy_a gracious_a pride_n now_o a_o holy_a pride_n be_v to_o know_v what_o be_v the_o end_n of_o a_o rational_a creature_n what_o he_o be_v capable_a of_o to_o enjoy_v communion_n with_o father_n son_n and_o holy_a ghost_n the_o knowledge_n of_o this_o will_v take_v off_o the_o heart_n from_o all_o thing_n below_o look_v upon_o these_o thing_n as_o dog_n meat_n if_o you_o can_v but_o take_v off_o your_o heart_n what_o be_v it_o that_o be_v in_o thou_o amiss_o what_o be_v it_o that_o thou_o will_v fain_o have_v the_o word_n come_v close_o unto_o to_o help_v thou_o against_o what_o be_v the_o special_a corruption_n thou_o will_v have_v the_o word_n to_o mortify_v in_o thou_o if_o now_o you_o set_v yourselves_o before_o you_o come_v to_o the_o word_n to_o examine_v your_o heart_n and_o when_o you_o be_v there_o to_o attend_v to_o the_o word_n as_o that_o which_o be_v your_o life_n upon_o which_o your_o eternal_a estate_n depend_v and_o so_o to_o sanctify_v the_o name_n of_o god_n in_o his_o word_n and_o not_o to_o dare_v to_o cast_v off_o any_o truth_n know_v that_o your_o soul_n may_v lie_v upon_o that_o very_a truth_n and_o to_o drink_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v reveal_v according_a to_o god_n mind_n this_o will_v be_v a_o very_a hard_a thing_n you_o will_v complain_v of_o almost_o a_o intolerable_a burden_n but_o now_o a_o gracious_a heart_n find_v more_o ease_n when_o it_o sanctify_v god_n in_o the_o power_n of_o godliness_n in_o hear_v the_o word_n than_o in_o a_o formal_a duty_n alas_o when_o such_o a_o one_o come_v in_o a_o formal_a humble_v for_o our_o sin_n in_o a_o evangelical_a way_n as_o well_o as_o perform_v duty_n in_o a_o evangelical_a way_n now_o evangelical_a humiliation_n it_o be_v a_o sorrow_n for_o sin_n not_o that_o love_n our_o very_a mourning_n must_v be_v a_o fruit_n of_o love_n and_o not_o come_v from_o the_o fear_n of_o be_v destroy_v eternal_o for_o such_o sin_n that_o be_v legal_a sorrow_n i_o have_v sin_v have_v nothing_o but_o bitterness_n and_o gall_n in_o it_o and_o the_o other_o nothing_o but_o sweetness_n that_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n second_o another_o way_n to_o facilitate_v and_o make_v easy_a that_o we_o do_v be_v this_o labour_n to_o keep_v our_o heart_n in_o a_o constant_a readiness_n and_o preparation_n to_o every_o duty_n duty_n be_v very_o hard_a because_o we_o fall_v upon_o continual_o and_o then_o prayer_n will_v be_v easy_a it_o will_v be_v a_o easy_a thing_n for_o you_o to_o pour_v forth_o your_o soul_n to_o god_n when_o you_o keep_v your_o heart_n in_o a_o pray_a frame_n all_o the_o day_n long_o it_o may_v be_v when_o you_o go_v to_o prayer_n you_o find_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o trouble_n within_o you_o your_o thought_n wander_v and_o your_o affection_n be_v dead_a and_o dull_a and_o you_o rise_v up_o discourage_v but_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n you_o do_v not_o keep_v your_o heart_n all_o the_o day_n long_o in_o a_o pray_a frame_n in_o a_o heavenly_a altogether_o indispose_v to_o it_o and_o so_o to_o come_v unto_o the_o sacrament_n you_o find_v it_o a_o great_a labour_n and_o toil_n to_o prepare_v for_o the_o sacrament_n as_o you_o shall_v i_o speak_v of_o those_o that_o make_v conscience_n of_o preparation_n many_o time_n they_o find_v it_o a_o mighty_a toil_n a_o hard_a work_n i_o but_o christian_n shall_v keep_v themselves_o always_o in_o a_o sacramental_a disposition_n a_o sacramental_a frame_n always_o have_v their_o spirit_n savour_v of_o the_o meditation_n of_o the_o death_n of_o jesus_n christ_n that_o nothing_o shall_v be_v more_o familiar_a to_o a_o christian_n soul_n than_o the_o meditation_n of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n and_o of_o discern_v the_o lord_n body_n and_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o give_v itself_o likewise_o to_o god_n in_o a_o covenant_n of_o grace_n this_o shall_v be_v continual_o and_o then_o if_o you_o shall_v receive_v the_o sacrament_n every_o day_n you_o may_v be_v fit_a for_o it_o or_o every_o week_n you_o will_v be_v fit_a for_o it_o now_o people_n think_v it_o a_o great_a matter_n and_o make_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o do_v about_o receive_v of_o it_o often_o whereas_o the_o truth_n be_v the_o saint_n of_o god_n they_o shall_v be_v in_o as_o great_a a_o readiness_n to_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n as_o to_o hear_v the_o word_n or_o to_o pray_v and_o that_o will_v be_v a_o mighty_a ease_n unto_o they_o therefore_o if_o thing_n be_v as_o they_o shall_v certain_o it_o will_v be_v more_o convenient_a to_o have_v it_o more_o ordinary_a and_o constant_a every_o lord_n day_n the_o sacrament_n the_o christian_n in_o the_o primitive_a time_n will_v receive_v it_o every_o day_n in_o the_o year_n and_o they_o keep_v their_o heart_n in_o readiness_n to_o such_o kind_n of_o duty_n let_v it_o be_v what_o work_n it_o will_v be_v you_o shall_v be_v patient_a in_o affliction_n if_o affliction_n come_v upon_o you_o and_o your_o heart_n be_v not_o in_o a_o readiness_n to_o alter_v your_o condition_n oh_o it_o will_v be_v a_o grievous_a burden_n to_o exercise_v patience_n it_o will_v be_v a_o hard_a thing_n for_o you_o now_o you_o shall_v keep_v your_o heart_n ready_a for_o every_o condition_n that_o be_v the_o true_a work_n of_o grace_n in_o the_o soul_n to_o keep_v the_o soul_n in_o a_o constant_a bent_n godward_o and_o that_o soul_n will_v do_v thing_n very_o easy_o sometime_o you_o have_v much_o ado_n with_o your_o child_n when_o stranger_n come_v to_o keep_v they_o in_o good_a order_n the_o reason_n be_v you_o neglect_v they_o at_o other_o time_n and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o they_o trouble_v you_o when_o stranger_n come_v but_o keep_v they_o in_o a_o good_a order_n at_o all_o time_n and_o then_o you_o will_v have_v they_o right_o at_o those_o time_n so_o it_o be_v with_o the_o heart_n keep_v the_o heart_n prepare_v and_o ready_a to_o every_o good_a work_n and_o then_o every_o work_n will_v be_v easy_a object_n but_o you_o will_v say_v that_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o toil_n and_o labour_n to_o keep_v our_o heart_n always_o bend_v and_o ready_a to_o good_a work_n to_o that_o i_o answer_v at_o first_o it_o may_v be_v some_o labour_n and_o toil_n but_o those_o that_o have_v once_o get_v their_o heart_n into_o a_o readiness_n find_v it_o not_o so_o hard_a but_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n
