and_o afterward_o i_o know_v not_o how_o go_v to_o such_o a_o place_n where_o there_o be_v a_o sermon_n i_o can_v not_o choose_v but_o go_v in_o and_o in_o hear_v my_o conscience_n be_v much_o stir_v i_o be_v bring_v to_o take_v another_o course_n and_o then_o i_o give_v myself_o to_o pray_v hear_v read_v and_o the_o like_a and_o to_o profess_v religion_n and_o thus_o i_o have_v hold_v thus_o many_o year_n so_o that_o i_o have_v try_v both_o master_n and_o try_v both_o service_n and_o now_o i_o proclaim_v to_o all_o the_o world_n that_o i_o judge_v the_o service_n of_o sin_n and_o of_o the_o devil_n to_o be_v better_a than_o the_o lord_n service_n for_o i_o think_v this_o to_o be_v but_o a_o vain_a service_n and_o therefore_o i_o leave_v it_o and_o turn_v as_o i_o hope_v to_o mend_v myself_o now_o must_v not_o the_o lord_n needs_o take_v this_o very_a ill_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o such_o as_o shall_v thus_o disparage_v his_o service_n in_o this_o manner_n reproof_n use_v 2._o of_o reproof_n the_o second_o use_n be_v for_o reproof_n first_o to_o such_o as_o not_o only_o think_v thus_o that_o the_o service_n of_o god_n iâ—_n in_o vain_a that_o a_o man_n be_v never_o the_o religion_n be_v the_o worse_o worse_a in_o their_o health_n worse_o in_o their_o estate_n worse_o in_o their_o wit_n and_o the_o like_a these_o be_v a_o degree_n above_o the_o ordinary_a sort_n of_o wicked_a people_n and_o shall_v fare_v thereafter_o of_o which_o see_v jude_n 15._o for_o god_n shall_v come_v one_o day_n to_o execute_v judgement_n upon_o ungodly_a man_n not_o only_o for_o all_o their_o ungodly_a deed_n but_o for_o all_o their_o hard_a speech_n also_o which_o they_o have_v speak_v against_o he_o second_o it_o be_v of_o reproof_n to_o such_o as_o be_v guilty_a of_o this_o sin_n in_o the_o text._n and_o of_o this_o sort_n be_v many_o and_o multitude_n even_o of_o those_o that_o in_o a_o formal_a manner_n do_v perform_v many_o service_n that_o the_o lord_n require_v pain_n take_v in_o it_o as_o lose_v and_o in_o vain_a let_v these_o know_v that_o they_o be_v guilty_a of_o a_o sin_n which_o the_o devil_n himself_o be_v free_a from_o he_o say_v 1.9_o job._n 1.9_o that_o job_n do_v not_o serve_v god_n for_o nought_o yet_o these_o think_v the_o service_n of_o god_n to_o be_v vain_a and_o fruitless_a but_o howsoever_o it_o be_v a_o desperate_a sign_n of_o a_o carnal_a heart_n and_o a_o black_a brand_n set_v upon_o the_o wicked_a by_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n whereby_o all_o the_o world_n may_v know_v they_o to_o be_v wicked_a wherever_o they_o find_v it_o and_o they_o themselves_o may_v know_v themselves_o so_o to_o be_v much_o more_o let_v they_o be_v otherwise_o never_o so_o fair_a and_o formal_a yet_o if_o they_o find_v this_o in_o themselves_o it_o may_v be_v conviction_n enough_o unto_o they_o that_o their_o heart_n be_v carnal_a and_o their_o condition_n desperate_a if_o any_o body_n shall_v go_v and_o raise_v a_o the_o service_n of_o god_n to_o be_v nothing_o worth_a but_o suppose_v one_o shall_v ask_v you_o how_o you_o can_v tell_v that_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a to_o serve_v god_n you_o never_o try_v to_o purpose_n what_o it_o be_v to_o serve_v he_o in_o sincerity_n if_o a_o man_n shall_v go_v and_o report_n as_o before_o that_o you_o make_v your_o servant_n work_v for_o nothing_o you_o will_v say_v how_o can_v you_o tell_v that_o see_v you_o never_o try_v my_o service_n so_o may_v i_o say_v to_o such_o as_o complain_v of_o the_o service_n of_o god_n to_o be_v a_o vain_a service_n how_o can_v you_o tell_v it_o be_v so_o see_v you_o never_o make_v trial_n of_o it_o upon_o your_o own_o experience_n and_o therefore_o you_o be_v guilty_a of_o speak_v evil_a of_o the_o thing_n which_o you_o understand_v not_o 2.12_o 2_o pet._n 2.12_o three_o it_o be_v of_o use_n by_o way_n of_o inference_n to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n for_o if_o it_o be_v a_o fault_n in_o carnal_a people_n much_o more_o in_o such_o as_o be_v spiritual_a and_o yet_o many_o of_o these_o be_v much_o to_o blame_v even_o about_o this_o very_a thing_n have_v strange_a thought_n about_o the_o vanity_n of_o god_n service_n &_o that_o upon_o ground_n both_o from_o themselves_o and_o other_o 1._o from_o themselves_o and_o they_o be_v two_o the_o one_o be_v the_o non-apprehension_n of_o any_o good_a get_v by_o that_o service_n that_o they_o ever_o do_v for_o god_n the_o other_o be_v that_o indiscernible_a difference_n in_v themselves_o between_o serve_v and_o not_o serve_v of_o god_n perform_v and_o omit_v the_o duty_n of_o god_n service_n for_o the_o better_a settle_v of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n in_o his_o way_n and_o service_n these_o ground_n of_o their_o mistake_n must_v be_v remove_v and_o their_o objection_n answer_v or_o else_o it_o be_v not_o the_o bare_a chide_n of_o they_o or_o lay_v of_o blame_n upon_o they_o that_o will_v pacify_v the_o soul_n or_o satisfy_v doubt_n and_o scruple_n and_o therefore_o i_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o remove_v these_o let_n and_o to_o answer_v these_o objection_n obj._n 1_o first_o then_o the_o soul_n say_v what_o shall_v i_o do_v serve_v of_o god_n 6.33_o 2_o king_n 6.33_o or_o wait_v upon_o the_o lord_n any_o long_o i_o have_v spend_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o time_n and_o take_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o pain_n that_o way_n but_o i_o do_v not_o see_v that_o i_o be_o the_o better_a for_o any_o thing_n that_o i_o have_v do_v as_o these_o people_n here_o though_o they_o have_v offer_v many_o sacrifice_n yet_o afterward_o begin_v to_o look_v upon_o they_o as_o cast_v away_o we_o have_v offer_v many_o cattle_n and_o creature_n in_o sacrifice_n say_v they_o but_o we_o have_v better_o have_v sell_v they_o and_o lay_v out_o the_o money_n some_o other_o way_n for_o our_o comfortable_a subsistence_n so_o say_v many_o a_o soul_n what_o shall_v i_o do_v i_o have_v pray_v and_o mourn_v but_o nothing_o the_o better_a my_o prayer_n be_v not_o let_v into_o heaven_n but_o shut_v out_o my_o alm_n be_v not_o have_v in_o remembrance_n before_o god_n but_o forget_v my_o tear_n be_v spill_v and_o not_o bottle_a up_o my_o want_n be_v not_o supply_v my_o desire_n be_v not_o answer_v my_o corruption_n be_v not_o mortify_v i_o have_v take_v much_o pain_n in_o attend_v upon_o the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n but_o have_v get_v little_a or_o no_o good_a by_o they_o and_o not_o only_o ordinary_a but_o extraordinary_a mean_n have_v i_o use_v i_o have_v join_v fast_v to_o my_o prayer_n and_o yet_o all_o will_v do_v nothing_o i_o be_v among_o the_o people_n of_o god_n such_o a_o day_n and_o such_o a_o day_n in_o the_o duty_n of_o humiliation_n but_o alas_o i_o be_v never_o the_o better_a my_o heart_n be_v as_o hard_o at_o night_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o morning_n so_o that_o i_o have_v better_o have_v be_v about_o my_o call_n or_o the_o world_n for_o there_o i_o may_v have_v do_v or_o get_v some_o good_a for_o the_o body_n but_o here_o i_o get_v no_o good_a either_o for_o body_n or_o soul_n there_o i_o may_v
have_v do_v some_o good_a to_o other_o but_o here_o no_o body_n have_v be_v the_o better_a for_o i_o but_o for_o aught_o i_o know_v rather_o the_o worse_a it_o may_v be_v i_o have_v be_v a_o jonah_n or_o a_o achan_n among_o god_n people_n to_o provoke_v the_o lord_n to_o displeasure_n and_o to_o cause_v he_o to_o withhold_v that_o mercy_n from_o that_o assembly_n i_o join_v with_o which_o they_o may_v have_v have_v if_o i_o have_v be_v from_o among_o they_o but_o however_o i_o have_v delude_v other_o and_o play_v the_o hypocrite_n seem_v better_a than_o i_o be_o and_o fit_a to_o be_v among_o god_n people_n which_o i_o be_v not_o &_o have_v harden_v my_o heart_n and_o be_o to_o be_v sure_a never_o the_o better_a if_o not_o much_o the_o worse_o these_o and_o the_o like_a complaint_n be_v common_o make_v by_o the_o people_n of_o god_n as_o if_o his_o service_n be_v indeed_o altogether_o vain_a to_o this_o i_o answer_v divers_a way_n answ_n 1_o that_o the_o service_n of_o god_n which_o a_o soul_n do_v may_v be_v may_v be_v profitable_a to_o other_o though_o for_o the_o present_a or_o in_o his_o own_o apprehension_n little_a or_o nothing_o so_o to_o it_o self_n for_o the_o act_n or_o part_n of_o god_n service_n be_v of_o divers_a kind_n some_o in_o which_o the_o lord_n and_o master_n himself_o have_v the_o chief_a hand_n he_o be_v especial_o the_o agent_n and_o we_o patient_n as_o hear_v the_o word_n receive_v the_o sacrament_n and_o duty_n of_o that_o nature_n other_o some_o again_o there_o be_v in_o which_o man_n be_v more_o say_v to_o be_v a_o agent_n then_o in_o the_o former_a as_o in_o prayer_n work_v of_o charity_n take_v up_o the_o cross_n and_o the_o like_a now_o its_o true_a for_o the_o first_o if_o a_o soul_n get_v no_o good_a at_o they_o it_o self_n at_o the_o word_n at_o the_o sacrament_n and_o the_o rest_n of_o that_o kind_n that_o service_n be_v like_a to_o be_v in_o vain_a altogether_o but_o for_o the_o latter_a it_o will_v not_o hold_v viz._n in_o suffering_n for_o christ_n and_o the_o like_a though_o a_o man_n may_v seem_v to_o have_v lose_v not_o his_o labour_n only_o but_o much_o other_o way_n in_o his_o estate_n credit_n liberty_n and_o the_o like_a in_o so_o much_o that_o he_o may_v suffer_v the_o spoil_n of_o all_o his_o good_n and_o himself_o die_v in_o the_o gaol_n yet_o this_o service_n may_v not_o be_v in_o vain_a for_o beside_o his_o own_o gain_n in_o spiritual_a respect_n the_o church_n of_o god_n may_v have_v more_o light_n and_o liberty_n hereby_o in_o after_o time_n also_o of_o prayer_n and_o seek_v the_o lord_n the_o like_a may_v be_v say_v for_o as_o the_o apostle_n say_v 12.14_o 2_o cor._n 12.14_o that_o the_o parent_n lay_v up_o for_o the_o child_n so_o do_v one_o christian_a for_o another_o for_o these_o duty_n be_v proper_o compare_v to_o sow_v of_o seed_n and_o christ_n say_v one_o sow_v 4.37_o joh._n 4.37_o and_o another_o reap_v and_o i_o doubt_v not_o but_o many_o a_o christian_n and_o parent_n have_v prayer_n hang_v upon_o god_n file_n in_o heaven_n unanswered_a for_o their_o child_n and_o the_o church_n of_o god_n though_o make_v long_o ago_o so_o that_o that_o may_v seem_v to_o be_v labour_n lose_v that_o be_v take_v that_o way_n but_o yet_o as_o ahasuerus_n 6.1_o ester_n 6.1_o call_v for_o the_o record_n after_o a_o certain_a time_n and_o find_v there_o such_o a_o piece_n of_o service_n do_v by_o mordecai_n not_o yet_o reward_v he_o forthwith_o give_v he_o wage_n for_o his_o work_n and_o bountiful_o reward_v he_o so_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o due_a time_n will_v look_v over_o his_o file_n as_o i_o may_v so_o speak_v and_o find_v the_o parent_n prayer_n make_v for_o the_o child_n and_o the_o christian_n prayer_n make_v for_o the_o church_n of_o god_n hang_v still_o unanswered_a he_o will_v undoubted_o return_v they_o a_o answer_n in_o a_o time_n accept_v and_o because_o a_o parent_n or_o a_o christian_n do_v not_o receive_v a_o answer_n hereof_o present_o or_o wage_n for_o his_o work_n in_o the_o service_n of_o the_o lord_n or_o live_v to_o see_v other_o the_o better_a for_o it_o shall_v he_o therefore_o conclude_v it_o be_v a_o vain_a service_n or_o the_o work_n a_o vain_a work_n simil._n when_o a_o man_n have_v be_v at_o pain_n &_o cost_v in_o till_v &_o sow_v of_o his_o ground_n though_o he_o do_v not_o live_v to_o the_o harvest_n to_o reap_v the_o they_o have_v have_v their_o wage_n pay_v they_o therein_o now_o if_o these_o servant_n shall_v go_v away_o and_o exclaim_v on_o you_o and_o on_o your_o service_n that_o because_o you_o do_v not_o pay_v they_o in_o ready_a money_n as_o they_o expect_v they_o shall_v therefore_o say_v that_o your_o service_n be_v a_o vain_a service_n and_o that_o they_o have_v wrought_v with_o you_o for_o nothing_o and_o the_o like_a will_v you_o take_v this_o well_o at_o their_o hand_n why_o yet_o thus_o do_v thou_o deal_v by_o the_o lord_n thou_o attend_v upon_o god_n in_o duty_n and_o ordinance_n in_o hear_v pray_v and_o the_o like_a and_o thou_o do_v he_o some_o service_n now_o thou_o expect_v to_o be_v pay_v down_o at_o the_o stub_n as_o it_o be_v in_o ready_a money_n that_o be_v to_o say_v thou_o look_v to_o grow_v in_o part_n as_o in_o knowledge_n in_o quick_a apprehension_n and_o ability_n of_o expression_n in_o conference_n or_o prayer_n as_o other_o do_v and_o because_o thou_o do_v not_o so_o thou_o be_v ready_a to_o complain_v that_o this_o service_n of_o god_n be_v vain_a and_o that_o thou_o have_v but_o lose_v thy_o labour_n therein_o whereas_o it_o may_v be_v the_o lord_n have_v give_v thou_o something_o in_o stead_n of_o these_o which_o be_v better_o and_o dainty_a and_o which_o thou_o can_v not_o have_v purchase_v with_o these_o if_o thou_o have_v never_o so_o much_o of_o they_o for_o instance_n it_o may_v be_v he_o have_v give_v thou_o a_o tender_a conscience_n and_o a_o humble_a heart_n instead_o of_o those_o other_o which_o thou_o do_v expect_v well_o if_o he_o have_v thus_o pay_v thou_o i_o tell_v thou_o he_o have_v do_v thou_o no_o wrong_n for_o these_o be_v thing_n which_o thou_o can_v not_o have_v purchase_v with_o thy_o part_n be_v they_o never_o so_o great_a and_o high_a answ_n 3_o three_o i_o answer_v that_o thou_o can_v not_o conclude_v that_o the_o service_n of_o god_n be_v in_o vain_a though_o thou_o think_v thyself_o never_o the_o better_a direction_n 2_o second_o if_o you_o will_v not_o have_v the_o service_n of_o god_n prove_v a_o vain_a service_n then_o take_v heed_n of_o a_o slighty_a spirit_n in_o the_o perform_n of_o it_o and_o service_n and_o the_o part_n and_o duty_n of_o this_o service_n as_o very_o profitable_a &_o as_o those_o mean_n which_o the_o lord_n have_v ordain_v for_o thy_o great_a good_a to_o look_v upon_o prayer_n as_o a_o profitable_a ordinance_n and_o mean_n very_o forcible_a with_o god_n to_o break_v open_a his_o treasure_n and_o to_o obtain_v all_o needful_a mercy_n by_o so_o for_o the_o word_n the_o sacrament_n and_o the_o rest_n many_o there_o be_v which_o perform_v many_o of_o the_o duty_n of_o god_n service_n but_o yet_o come_v not_o with_o such_o thought_n as_o these_o be_v but_o look_v upon_o they_o as_o mean_v ordinary_a thing_n and_o that_o because_o they_o know_v not_o the_o worth_n and_o pretiousnesse_n of_o they_o and_o never_o find_v or_o get_v any_o great_a good_a by_o they_o when_o as_o the_o ground_n thereof_o be_v in_o themselves_o they_o come_v with_o low_a thought_n and_o slighty_a estimation_n to_o the_o ordinance_n and_o then_o no_o marvel_n they_o find_v they_o vain_a and_o unprofitable_a to_o they_o direction_n 3_o three_o he_o that_o will_v not_o have_v the_o service_n of_o god_n in_o vain_a unto_o he_o must_v look_v that_o he_o be_v faithful_a in_o the_o do_n of_o it_o and_o this_o faithfulness_n be_v to_o be_v show_v in_o these_o five_o thing_n carefulness_n carefulness_n faithfulness_n in_o god_n service_n to_o be_v show_v in_o 5._o thing_n carefulness_n diligence_n sincerity_n belief_n and_o perseverance_n first_o it_o be_v to_o be_v show_v in_o carefulness_n of_o universality_n of_o obedience_n that_o a_o man_n be_v careful_a in_o attend_v upon_o all_o god_n way_n and_o in_o do_v all_o that_o work_n that_o god_n set_v he_o about_o he_o be_v not_o a_o faithful_a servant_n that_o will_v pick_v and_o choose_v his_o work_n to_o do_v only_o that_o which_o like_v he_o and_o leave_v the_o rest_n so_o neither_o be_v he_o a_o faithful_a servant_n to_o god_n that_o will_v do_v only_o some_o not_o all_o that_o will_v attend_v upon_o god_n in_o some_o duty_n and_o ordinance_n but_o omit_v othersome_a and_o that_o can_v be_v content_a to_o put_v his_o hand_n to_o god_n work_n but_o not_o to_o his_o neck_n or_o his_o back_n to_o his_o cross_n or_o burden_n doing-worke_n will_v down_o but_o not_o suffering-worke_n well_o think_v better_o of_o it_o and_o balk_v none_o of_o god_n work_n but_o take_v it_o as_o it_o lie_v in_o order_n and_o come_v for_o that_o part_n of_o god_n service_n that_o thou_o neglecte_v may_v be_v that_o in_o the_o do_v whereof_o the_o lord_n may_v intend_v to_o show_v thou_o much_o mercy_n and_o to_o give_v thou_o a_o reward_n for_o that_o and_o other_o service_n together_o if_o it_o be_v secret_a prayer_n or_o such_o a_o duty_n that_o thou_o live_v in_o the_o neglect_n of_o thou_o may_v bereave_v thyself_o of_o much_o good_a in_o the_o neglect_n of_o it_o for_o as_o god_n meet_v one_o in_o some_o duty_n rather_o than_o in_o othersome_a so_o that_o may_v be_v that_o very_a duty_n that_o god_n may_v intend_v to_o communicate_v more_o mercy_n to_o thou_o in_o than_o any_o other_o so_o the_o like_a may_v be_v say_v of_o suffering_n for_o the_o lord_n have_v let_v out_o more_o of_o himself_o sometime_o in_o a_o prison_n than_o any_o other_o way_n and_o therefore_o as_o david_n show_v his_o faithfulness_n in_o have_v respect_n to_o all_o god_n commandment_n 119.6_o psal_n 119.6_o so_o let_v we_o second_o 2._o diligence_n 2._o this_o faithfulness_n lie_v in_o do_v the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n diligent_o when_o the_o soul_n put_v out_o its_o self_n in_o what_o god_n in_o duty_n as_o in_o prayer_n in_o a_o ordinary_a formal_a way_n because_o it_o be_v the_o order_n and_o fashion_n to_o go_v to_o god_n and_o pray_v in_o time_n of_o want_n they_o may_v go_v often_o enough_o and_o pray_v long_o enough_o ere_o they_o shall_v obtain_v and_o work_v till_o they_o be_v weary_a in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n ere_o they_o get_v any_o good_a reward_n for_o it_o yea_o though_o a_o man_n be_v a_o believer_n and_o have_v that_o singular_a gift_n and_o grace_n of_o faith_n in_o he_o yet_o this_o be_v not_o enough_o unless_o he_o do_v stir_v up_o this_o gift_n and_o grace_n so_o as_o to_o have_v the_o use_n and_o exercise_v of_o it_o even_o in_o the_o time_n of_o work_v and_o do_v god_n service_n for_o a_o habit_n be_v only_o so_o far_o of_o use_n and_o or_o but_o seldom_o or_o if_o constant_o yet_o but_o in_o a_o slighty_a formal_a way_n so_o for_o hear_v the_o word_n and_o other_o duty_n etc._n etc._n they_o begin_v to_o think_v sure_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o so_o needful_a this_o same_o serve_v of_o god_n in_o this_o manner_n be_v not_o so_o profitable_a for_o if_o it_o be_v certain_o such_o and_o such_o learned_a man_n and_o great_a scholar_n that_o shall_v know_v better_o what_o belong_v to_o it_o then_o so_o will_v not_o omit_v these_o thing_n as_o they_o do_v thus_o as_o the_o apostle_n say_v of_o they_o in_o jude_n that_o and_o example_n of_o these_o man_n be_v more_o to_o they_o than_o all_o the_o precept_n of_o god_n not_o consider_v that_o of_o the_o apostle_n 1_o cor._n 1.26_o not_o many_o wise_a or_o great_a or_o noble_a be_v call_v reason_n 4_o the_o four_o reason_n why_o carnal_a heart_n judge_v the_o service_n of_o god_n a_o vain_a service_n be_v because_o the_o lord_n do_v many_o time_n defer_v the_o pay_n of_o his_o servant_n wage_n for_o the_o service_n which_o they_o do_v for_o he_o till_o afterward_o god_n do_v not_o give_v they_o outward_a prosperity_n it_o may_v be_v at_o all_o and_o no_o marvel_n because_o as_o his_o kingdom_n be_v not_o of_o this_o world_n so_o neither_o shall_v his_o servant_n live_v as_o in_o a_o kingdom_n here_o nay_o it_o may_v be_v they_o attain_v not_o to_o that_o purpose_n that_o be_v take_v in_o this_o service_n like_v as_o in_o their_o own_o do_v service_n to_o the_o devil_n because_o when_o they_o have_v sin_v 50._o psal_n 50._o and_o god_n be_v so_o it_o be_v not_o reward_v for_o the_o present_a therefore_o it_o never_o will_v though_o yet_o the_o lord_n have_v bind_v himself_o by_o many_o promise_n to_o reward_v they_o which_o bond_n be_v good_a fear_v the_o loss_n of_o their_o labour_n in_o their_o serve_v of_o he_o though_o they_o fear_v they_o pray_v but_o in_o vain_a yet_o they_o will_v pray_v still_o and_o so_o for_o other_o duty_n many_o poor_a soul_n have_v complain_v much_o of_o their_o unprofitablenes_n in_o god_n service_n that_o they_o have_v but_o lose_v their_o labour_n and_o all_o in_o vain_a which_o they_o have_v do_v and_o the_o like_a whereupon_o for_o their_o trial_n they_o have_v be_v ask_v after_o this_o manner_n why_o do_v you_o not_o then_o give_v over_o why_o do_v you_o hear_v or_o pray_v still_o to_o you_o may_v not_o carve_v yourselves_o and_o have_v whole_a loaf_n therefore_o you_o will_v scorn_v crumb_n and_o cast_v away_o piece_n if_o thus_o you_o do_v in_o stead_n of_o pity_n you_o shall_v deserve_v blame_n and_o as_o little_a as_o this_o confidence_n &_o wait_v upon_o god_n seem_v worth_a which_o you_o slight_a and_o be_v cast_v away_o as_o worth_n nothing_o yet_o believe_v i_o it_o take_v heed_n of_o make_v void_a and_o vain_a the_o service_n of_o god_n to_o himself_o we_o have_v see_v and_o hear_v the_o evil_a of_o this_o sin_n of_o accuse_v the_o service_n of_o god_n for_o a_o word_n when_o those_o that_o take_v their_o fill_n in_o the_o pleasure_n of_o sin_n that_o cast_v off_o the_o fear_n of_o the_o almighty_a 21.14_o joh._n 21.14_o say_v depart_n from_o we_o for_o we_o desire_v not_o the_o knowledge_n of_o thy_o way_n that_o be_v servant_n to_o their_o lust_n and_o not_o to_o god_n but_o run_v on_o in_o all_o excess_n of_o riot_n in_o sin_v with_o high_a hand_n have_v nothing_o for_o there_o be_v no_o fear_n of_o that_o but_o only_a covenant_n with_o he_o to_o be_v his_o servant_n to_o be_v one_o who_o he_o may_v please_v to_o own_o and_o look_v upon_o as_o one_o that_o do_v especial_o belong_v unto_o he_o this_o be_v to_o be_v in_o inward_a covenant_n with_o god_n for_o you_o be_v to_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o secret_a league_n and_o covenant_n which_o be_v make_v and_o pass_v between_o god_n and_o the_o soul_n at_o its_o first_o conversion_n in_o which_o the_o lord_n for_o his_o part_n make_n tender_v and_o promise_v of_o free_a grace_n and_o mercy_n to_o the_o poor_a soul_n see_v itself_o lose_v and_o undo_v and_o the_o soul_n for_o its_o part_n be_v glad_a of_o god_n and_o mercy_n upon_o such_o fair_a term_n as_o he_o propound_v it_o upon_o accepts_z thereof_o and_o so_o the_o covenant_n be_v strike_v the_o soul_n be_v willing_a to_o become_v the_o lord_n and_o to_o give_v up_o itself_o to_o he_o and_o his_o service_n whole_o and_o free_o and_o the_o lord_n for_o his_o part_n be_v willing_a to_o accept_v of_o that_o soul_n and_o of_o such_o service_n as_o it_o be_v and_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o do_v for_o he_o to_o assist_v he_o in_o his_o undertake_n to_o overlook_v his_o fail_v and_o to_o reward_v his_o endeavour_n and_o so_o for_o ever_o after_o this_o the_o lord_n look_v upon_o this_o soul_n as_o a_o servant_n of_o he_o and_o as_o set_v on_o work_n by_o he_o and_o so_o intend_v the_o reward_v of_o he_o as_o his_o servant_n which_o before_o he_o do_v not_o but_o say_v as_o esay_n 1.12_o who_o
