nay_o but_o a_o finger_n it_o can_v not_o be_v say_v to_o be_v a_o complete_a picture_n so_o be_v it_o here_o if_o there_o be_v a_o want_n in_o any_o thing_n even_o in_o the_o least_o duty_n for_o the_o outward_a part_n of_o religion_n if_o he_o do_v not_o all_o for_o the_o external_o which_o a_o christian_a do_v he_o can_v be_v say_v to_o be_v a_o complete_a form_n a_o complete_a picture_n though_o god_n shall_v never_o reward_v their_o obedience_n yet_o he_o have_v a_o second_o end_n he_o labour_v to_o discourage_v god_n people_n hereby_o in_o the_o work_n and_o to_o make_v they_o drive_v heavy_o in_o their_o way_n to_o heaven_n satan_n know_v full_a well_o that_o if_o their_o heart_n be_v discourage_v in_o the_o work_n their_o hand_n will_v be_v weaken_v for_o the_o work_n prayer_n hear_v more_o sermon_n do_v more_o duty_n keep_v more_o day_n engage_v thyself_o more_o deep_o in_o the_o cause_n of_o god_n than_o other_o have_v do_v who_o have_v yet_o come_v to_o nought_o a_o outside_o and_o a_o inside_n in_o every_o command_n of_o god_n some_o part_n of_o it_o bind_v the_o flesh_n another_o part_n enjoin_v the_o spirit_n many_o keep_v the_o letter_n of_o the_o law_n which_o yet_o never_o care_v for_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o law_n both_o these_o you_o shall_v see_v in_o the_o scribe_n and_o

do_v much_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o have_v a_o unsound_a spirit_n and_o fall_v short_a of_o heaven_n at_o last_o i_o come_v now_o to_o application_n 1._o use_v if_o a_o man_n may_v do_v thus_o much_o and_o yet_o fall_v short_a of_o heaven_n what_o then_o shall_v become_v of_o they_o who_o do_v nothing_o if_o a_o man_n may_v pray_v and_o perish_v hear_v and_o go_v to_o hell_n do_v duty_n and_o be_v damn_v then_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o they_o who_o swear_v and_o blaspheme_v i_o know_v it_o be_v the_o ordinary_a vaunt_n of_o carnal_a and_o unregenerate_a man_n who_o work_v with_o all_o his_o strength_n to_o abound_v in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o eye_n the_o manner_n as_o well_o as_o the_o matter_n the_o circumstance_n as_o well_o as_o the_o substance_n it_o will_v put_v a_o man_n upon_o prayer_n and_o make_v a_o man_n pray_v fervent_o faithful_o humble_o it_o will_v put_v a_o man_n upon_o hear_v etc._n etc._n and_o therefore_o thou_o be_v mistake_v though_o a_o man_n may_v do_v these_o duty_n and_o not_o be_v sincere_a yet_o thou_o can_v not_o be_v sincere_a if_o thou_o do_v they_o not_o though_o he_o may_v do_v these_o thing_n and_o perish_v performance_n of_o duty_n be_v sufficient_a evidence_n to_o conclude_v our_o good_a condition_n than_o whoever_o do_v abound_v most_o in_o these_o thing_n they_o have_v the_o sure_a bottom_n to_o rest_n upon_o but_o alas_o you_o see_v it_o be_v possible_a for_o a_o man_n to_o abound_v in_o duty_n and_o yet_o his_o heart_n be_v unsound_a and_o therefore_o the_o do_v of_o these_o thing_n will_v the_o wave_n do_v beat_v when_o the_o storm_n arise_v then_o be_v the_o sandiness_n of_o the_o foundation_n discover_v the_o house_n fall_v for_o it_o be_v build_v upon_o the_o sand._n so_o here_o while_o you_o have_v a_o calm_a while_o you_o be_v in_o health_n enjoy_v peace_n etc._n etc._n these_o bottom_n seem_v firm_a enough_o you_o do_v not_o discover_v the_o sandiness_n of_o these_o foundation_n but_o a_o storm_n do_v arise_v when_o you_o come_v upon_o your_o sick-bed_n when_o you_o come_v to_o the_o day_n of_o death_n than_o you_o shall_v see_v the_o unsoundness_n of_o your_o bottom_n all_o your_o building_n your_o fair_a structure_n all_o your_o work_n and_o walking_n upon_o this_o foundation_n will_v be_v sure_o blow_v down_o they_o will_v never_o abide_v the_o trial_n
