and_o by_o who_o we_o ordain_v and_o by_o this_o our_o present_a imperial_a edict_n perpetual_o to_o be_v observe_v command_n of_o our_o mere_a motion_n and_o free_a imperial_a power_n that_o as_o often_o and_o whensoever_o in_o time_n to_o come_v upon_o necessity_n or_o the_o cause_n of_o election_n of_o the_o king_n of_o roman_n to_o be_v emperor_n it_o shall_v happen_v and_o fall_v out_o that_o the_o prince_n elector_n according_a to_o the_o ancient_a and_o laudable_a custom_n for_o the_o say_a election_n be_v to_o travel_v and_o set_v forward_o on_o their_o journey_n every_o prince_n elector_n shall_v upon_o request_n make_v by_o the_o say_a elector_n be_v bind_v to_o conduct_v and_o accompany_v his_o co-elector_n when_o they_o be_v for_o that_o cause_n to_o travel_v through_o their_o territory_n land_n and_o jurisdiction_n and_o further_a also_o as_o necessity_n require_v and_o without_o refusal_n convey_v they_o to_o the_o city_n or_o place_n where_o such_o election_n be_v to_o be_v make_v and_o celebrate_v and_o also_o at_o their_o return_n from_o thence_o upon_o pain_n of_o perjury_n and_o loss_n for_o that_o time_n only_o of_o his_o or_o their_o voice_n which_o he_o or_o they_o be_v or_o be_v to_o have_v in_o the_o say_a election_n which_o say_v penalty_n to_o he_o or_o they_o that_o shall_v show_v themselves_o rebellious_a obstinate_a or_o negligent_a in_o the_o say_a conduction_n we_o ourselves_o will_v judge_v and_o impose_v we_o further_o ordain_v and_o command_v all_o other_o prince_n feodary_n and_o belong_v to_o the_o imperial_a jurisdiction_n by_o what_o name_n soever_o they_o be_v call_v duke_n earl_n baron_n knight_n and_o their_o retainer_n gentleman_n and_o other_o burgess_n and_o officer_n of_o castle_n city_n and_o place_n contrary_a shall_v incur_v the_o pain_n of_o guiltiness_n of_o perjury_n and_o deprivation_n of_o all_o liberty_n and_o immunity_n whatsoever_o they_o hold_v and_o enjoy_v by_o imperial_a right_n or_o the_o say_v prince_n elector_n and_o either_o or_o any_o of_o they_o as_o also_o their_o deputy_n or_o their_o servant_n shall_v lodge_v or_o rest_v themselves_o in_o their_o journey_n towards_o or_o in_o the_o place_n of_o the_o election_n aforesaid_a to_o sell_v and_o cause_v their_o victual_n to_o be_v sell_v at_o the_o common_a rate_n and_o price_n accustom_v without_o inhaunce_v or_o extraordinary_o raise_v the_o price_n of_o the_o same_o unto_o they_o and_o their_o retinue_n for_o their_o necessary_a provision_n as_o also_o in_o their_o departure_n or_o return_v home_o from_o thence_o again_o and_o whosoever_o shall_v do_v the_o contrary_a we_o will_v that_o they_o shall_v incur_v the_o same_o penalty_n that_o be_v former_o set_v down_o against_o citizen_n and_o other_o for_o disobedience_n in_o the_o case_n aforesaid_a further_o if_o any_o of_o the_o prince_n earl_n baron_n knight_n gentleman_n burgess_n and_o inhabitant_n of_o town_n and_o city_n whatsoever_o shall_v offer_v to_o presume_v malicious_o to_o wrong_v or_o do_v any_o injury_n open_o or_o privy_o by_o any_o mean_n whatsoever_o unto_o the_o prince_n elector_n in_o the_o way_n or_o otherwise_o as_o they_o travel_v to_o the_o place_n where_o the_o king_n of_o the_o roman_n be_v to_o be_v elect_v or_o in_o their_o return_n from_o thence_o again_o or_o shall_v presume_v to_o assail_v or_o trouble_v they_o or_o any_o of_o they_o personal_o or_o any_o of_o their_o deputy_n aforesaid_a travel_v to_o and_o from_o the_o say_a place_n whether_o they_o shall_v demand_v conduction_n or_o not_o such_o person_n or_o person_n together_o with_o their_o adherent_n and_o complice_n shall_v present_o thereupon_o incur_v the_o pain_n and_o punishment_n aforesaid_a every_o man_n according_a to_o his_o state_n quality_n and_o condition_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o if_o any_o of_o the_o prince_n elector_n shall_v fall_v out_o or_o have_v any_o particular_a quarrel_n contention_n or_o controversy_n one_o with_o or_o against_o the_o other_o notwithstanding_o the_o same_o they_o shall_v be_v bind_v to_o convey_v and_o conduct_v one_o the_o other_o or_o their_o deputy_n by_o they_o appoint_v for_o the_o say_a election_n to_o the_o place_n of_o election_n and_o back_o again_o as_o aforesaid_a upon_o pain_n of_o incur_v the_o dishonour_n of_o perjury_n and_o the_o loss_n for_o that_o time_n only_o of_o their_o voice_n in_o the_o election_n as_o aforesaid_a and_o if_o any_o other_o prince_n earl_n baron_n knight_n gentleman_n citizens_z or_o commons_o of_o town_n whatsoever_o shall_v have_v any_o particular_a quarrel_n with_o or_o bear_v any_o evil_a will_n or_o envy_v unto_o the_o prince_n elector_n in_o general_a or_o any_o of_o they_o in_o particular_a or_o if_o that_o there_o shall_v sudden_o arise_v any_o quarrel_n contention_n or_o war_n between_o they_o nevertheless_o all_o controversy_n and_o contention_n set_v apart_o they_o shall_v conduct_v the_o say_a prince_n or_o prince_n elector_n or_o he_o or_o their_o deputy_n appoint_v to_o go_v to_o the_o say_a election_n in_o their_o journey_n both_o forward_a and_o backward_o as_o they_o will_v shun_v and_o avoid_v the_o pain_n and_o penalty_n aforesaid_a by_o we_o set_v down_o to_o be_v inflict_v upon_o they_o that_o shall_v do_v the_o contrary_a wherein_o we_o ourselves_o will_v be_v judge_n etc._n etc._n earl_n baron_n knight_n gentleman_n city_n town_n &_o inhabitant_n thereof_o shall_v by_o their_o oath_n set_v down_o in_o writing_n under_o their_o hand_n promise_n &_o bind_v themselves_o to_o observe_v fulfil_v and_o keep_v all_o the_o premise_n in_o every_o point_n faithful_o and_o true_o according_a to_o the_o tenor_n thereof_o and_o whosoever_o shall_v deny_v or_o refuse_v to_o do_v the_o same_o shall_v forthwith_o incur_v the_o pain_n and_o punishment_n that_o be_v former_o inflict_v upon_o every_o man_n according_a to_o his_o or_o their_o estate_n and_o degree_n if_o any_o prince_n elector_n or_o any_o other_o prince_n of_o what_o estate_n or_o condition_n soever_o he_o be_v feodarie_n to_o the_o empire_n earles_n baron_n or_o knight_n or_o any_o of_o their_o heir_n and_o successor_n shall_v not_o hold_v perform_v and_o observe_v our_o aforesaid_a and_o ensue_a constitution_n and_o law_n or_o presume_v to_o contrary_a the_o same_o if_o the_o say_a prince_n elector_n continue_v therein_o than_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o elector_n shall_v from_o thence_o forward_o exclude_v he_o out_o of_o their_o company_n and_o he_o shall_v be_v exclude_v from_o his_o voice_n of_o election_n and_o place_n of_o elector_n among_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o elector_n neither_o shall_v he_o enjoy_v his_o feodarie_n preferment_n which_o he_o usual_o have_v in_o the_o empire_n and_o all_o other_o prince_n and_o noble_a man_n aforesaid_a commit_v the_o like_a offence_n against_o our_o say_a law_n likewise_o shall_v not_o enjoy_v their_o feodary_n right_n by_o the_o chancellor_n for_o the_o empire_n in_o italy_n shall_v be_v conduct_v by_o the_o archbishop_n of_o mentz_n and_o tride_n the_o county_n palatine_n of_o the_o rhine_n the_o landgrave_n of_o hessen_n the_o earl_n of_o katsenellenboghen_n nassaw_n dyetz_n isenburgh_n westerburgh_n runkell_n limburgh_n and_o valkenstein_n the_o city_n of_o wetflaria_n beylenhuysen_n and_o fredebergh_n the_o archbishop_n of_o trever_n chancellor_n for_o the_o empire_n in_o france_n and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o arles_n shall_v be_v conduct_v by_o the_o archbishop_n of_o mentz_n the_o earl_n palatine_n of_o the_o rhine_n spanheim_n and_o veltentz_n the_o rhingrave_v of_o wildegraven_v nassaw_n isenburgh_n westerburgh_n runkell_n limburgh_n dyetz_n katsenellenboghen_n eppenstein_n and_o valkenstein_n
