use_v the_o freedom_n which_o god_n allow_v we_o when_o he_o enjoin_v no_o other_o form_n but_o this_o iv_o it_o seem_v high_o agreeable_a to_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n that_o the_o mode_n of_o pray_v with_o or_o without_o a_o form_n shall_v be_v leave_v so_o far_o undetermined_a as_o to_o confine_v we_o to_o neither_o way_n by_o any_o particular_a precept_n and_o therefore_o he_o have_v only_o give_v we_o general_a rule_n relate_v to_o this_o duty_n and_o one_o comprehensive_a either_o pattern_n or_o form_n but_o have_v leave_v we_o in_o the_o particular_a exercise_n of_o this_o to_o those_o at_o rome_n who_o faith_n be_v already_o so_o eminent_a and_o so_o public_o know_v and_o celebrate_v and_o indeed_o though_o the_o gospel_n be_v in_o the_o strict_a sense_n only_a news_n to_o those_o that_o first_o hear_v it_o yet_o it_o do_v not_o cease_v to_o be_v good_a tiding_n or_o a_o joyful_a message_n for_o be_v often_o repeat_v so_o that_o since_o the_o bp._n have_v so_o ill_a hap_n in_o every_o one_o of_o his_o criticism_n i_o will_v advise_v he_o to_o be_v more_o spare_v and_o deliberate_a in_o offer_v they_o to_o public_a view_n for_o his_o talon_n do_v not_o seem_v to_o lie_v much_o that_o way_n iv_o the_o scripture_n have_v leave_v it_o to_o human_a prudence_n to_o determine_v what_o portion_n of_o they_o shall_v be_v read_v in_o our_o public_a assembly_n and_o in_o what_o order_n and_o method_n to_o clear_v this_o we_o must_v consider_v there_o be_v two_o way_n of_o read_v the_o scripture_n in_o order_n to_o the_o people_n instruction_n from_o '_o they_o as_o either_o 1._o when_o some_o considerable_a portion_n of_o they_o be_v read_v together_o as_o some_o part_n of_o a_o book_n or_o epistle_n a_o psalm_n etc._n etc._n for_o the_o division_n of_o the_o scripture_n into_o chapter_n and_o verse_n be_v but_o a_o matter_n of_o late_a invention_n 2._o when_o several_a passage_n be_v read_v out_o of_o several_a book_n of_o the_o old_a or_o new_a testament_n which_o be_v parallel_v to_o each_o other_o and_o serve_v to_o explain_v the_o same_o doctrine_n or_o clear_a and_o enforce_v the_o same_o duty_n and_o though_o the_o phrase_n of_o read_v the_o scripture_n be_v by_o common_a custom_n appropriate_v to_o the_o former_a yet_o if_o we_o will_v speak_v strict_o it_o do_v as_o true_o belong_v to_o the_o latter_a and_o
