faith_n and_o repentance_n and_o such_o like_a and_o these_o only_a the_o wise_a virgin_n have_v the_o foolish_a have_v none_o at_o all_o all_o these_o virgin_n they_o go_v forth_o to_o meet_v the_o bridegroom_n as_o in_o the_o first_o verse_n the_o bridegroom_n be_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n the_o come_n of_o the_o bridegroom_n be_v his_o come_n to_o judgement_n and_o so_o their_o meeting_n our_o profession_n the_o grace_n of_o all_o moral_a virtue_n consist_v in_o the_o action_n of_o virtue_n and_o the_o grace_n of_o every_o trade_n consist_v not_o so_o much_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o trade_n as_o in_o the_o well_o manage_v of_o that_o trade_n our_o christian_a profession_n be_v a_o virtue_n and_o a_o trade_n a_o spiritual_a virtue_n and_o a_o heavenly_a trade_n therefore_o the_o grace_n of_o it_o stand_v in_o our_o well_o manage_v of_o it_o by_o the_o practice_n of_o all_o religious_a duty_n godly_a carriage_n in_o servant_n the_o mean_a that_o profess_v religion_n and_o consequent_o in_o all_o do_v adorn_v and_o beautisie_n and_o grace_n the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n our_o saviour_n tit._n 2.10_o not_o that_o we_o can_v add_v any_o grace_n to_o religion_n in_o itself_o no_o in_o itself_o and_o of_o itself_o it_o be_v most_o gracious_a so_o that_o it_o need_v not_o nor_o can_v receive_v any_o grace_n from_o our_o do_v but_o that_o thereby_o we_o grace_v it_o before_o man_n our_o friend_n that_o like_v we_o the_o better_a for_o it_o and_o our_o enemy_n that_o be_v put_v to_o shame_n and_o silence_n by_o it_o yea_o and_o ofttimes_o be_v force_v to_o speak_v well_o of_o our_o religion_n for_o our_o practice_n and_o we_o also_o procure_v a_o more_o reverend_a estimation_n of_o our_o profession_n general_o in_o the_o world_n when_o we_o take_v this_o holy_a profession_n upon_o we_o it_o grace_v we_o and_o when_o we_o prastice_v hereby_o answerable_a to_o this_o holy_a profession_n we_o grace_v it_o therefore_o this_o we_o must_v do_v second_o this_o be_v the_o life_n of_o our_o faith_n it_o can_v live_v no_o long_o than_o it_o be_v exercise_v in_o good_a duty_n as_o rachel_n gen._n 39.1_o say_v to_o jacob_n give_v i_o child_n or_o else_o i_o die_v so_o likewise_o say_v faith_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o christian_a give_v i_o child_n let_v i_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n of_o piety_n towards_o god_n and_o charity_n towards_o man_n and_o man_n than_o our_o faith_n live_v and_o thrive_v within_o we_o therefore_o we_o must_v practice_v good_a duty_n both_o to_o god_n and_o man_n else_o faith_n can_v live_v within_o we_o three_o it_o be_v the_o end_n of_o our_o call_n 1_o thess_n 4.7_o for_o god_n have_v not_o call_v we_o unto_o uncleanness_n but_o unto_o holiness_n that_o be_v to_o the_o practice_n of_o holy_a and_o religious_a duty_n when_o a_o man_n be_v call_v of_o purpose_n to_o do_v a_o work_n shall_v he_o come_v and_o not_o do_v that_o which_o he_o be_v call_v to_o and_o come_v for_o this_o be_v a_o shameful_a and_o a_o senseless_a thing_n either_o let_v he_o not_o come_v when_o he_o be_v call_v or_o when_o he_o be_v come_v let_v he_o do_v that_o which_o he_o be_v call_v unto_o the_o main_a undertake_v by_o we_o in_o baptism_n that_o we_o will_v renounce_v the_o world_n the_o flesh_n and_o the_o devil_n and_o become_v dutiful_a child_n unto_o god_n in_o the_o practice_n of_o all_o holy_a duty_n which_o he_o require_v this_o then_o be_v our_o condition_n in_o christianity_n therefore_o we_o must_v practice_v it_o or_o else_o we_o shall_v never_o come_v to_o heaven_n last_o god_n scorn_v and_o hate_v all_o professor_n of_o his_o name_n that_o will_v not_o obey_v his_o will_n he_o utter_o renounce_v they_o and_o their_o profession_n to_o be_v none_o of_o he_o so_o he_o do_v here_o in_o this_o world_n and_o so_o he_o will_v do_v hereafter_o so_o he_o do_v here_o as_o we_o may_v see_v psal_n 50.16_o but_o unto_o the_o wicked_a say_v god_n what_o have_v thou_o to_o do_v to_o declare_v my_o ordinance_n that_o thou_o shall_v take_v my_o covenant_n in_o thy_o mouth_n lay_v this_o to_o heart_n and_o see_v if_o god_n say_v not_o thus_o to_o every_o one_o of_o we_o here_o present_a what_o have_v thou_o to_o do_v to_o come_v into_o my_o house_n and_o to_o profess_v my_o name_n see_v thou_o will_v not_o obey_v my_o will_n but_o hate_v to_o be_v reform_v and_o so_o he_o in_o this_o kind_n every_o one_o be_v faulty_a some_o more_o some_o less_o let_v our_o own_o course_n be_v our_o own_o accuser_n the_o whole_a land_n profess_v god_n religion_n as_o be_v a_o national_a church_n but_o how_o few_o be_v there_o in_o the_o whole_a land_n that_o be_v daily_o conversant_a in_o the_o exercise_n of_o religion_n either_o they_o do_v not_o perform_v they_o at_o all_o or_o else_o if_o they_o do_v they_o yet_o they_o do_v not_o make_v conscience_n of_o they_o but_o they_o do_v they_o overly_o and_o for_o fashion_n at_o least_o they_o do_v not_o make_v it_o their_o daily_a and_o continual_a practice_n but_o only_o now_o and_o then_o when_o they_o listen_v themselves_o who_o be_v zealous_a for_o the_o lord_n
