grow_v and_o to_o grow_v to_o such_o a_o degree_n to_o such_o a_o measure_n and_o proportion_n of_o grace_n that_o you_o may_v be_v able_a to_o say_v true_o the_o case_n stand_v so_o with_o i_o heretofore_o it_o stand_v thus_o with_o i_o that_o i_o can_v scarce_o tell_v how_o to_o do_v a_o duty_n and_o to_o turn_v my_o hand_n upon_o any_o holy_a duty_n but_o now_o through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o his_o blessing_n upon_o the_o mean_v i_o have_v use_v i_o be_o come_v to_o that_o pass_v now_o that_o i_o can_v scarce_o tell_v now_o how_o to_o commit_v a_o sin_n this_o be_v the_o so_o improve_v in_o i_o that_o now_o i_o be_o able_a to_o do_v any_o thing_n i_o be_o able_a to_o do_v all_o thing_n through_o christ_n and_o by_o his_o grace_n in_o i_o i_o can_v sin_v for_o my_o heart_n as_o once_o i_o can_v this_o be_v the_o growth_n that_o we_o shall_v press_v after_o ay_o such_o a_o growth_n in_o grace_n we_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o as_o that_o we_o may_v be_v upon_o all_o occasion_n command_v by_o the_o scripture_n and_o by_o scripture-argument_n and_o reason_n and_o sway_v with_o they_o whatsoever_o argument_n come_v to_o the_o contrary_n true_o this_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o a_o soul_n well_o improve_v in_o grace_n and_o in_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n when_o god_n argument_n will_v bear_v sway_n with_o it_o all_o other_o argument_n they_o signify_v little_a or_o nothing_o but_o a_o argument_n draw_v from_o the_o command_n of_o god_n from_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o from_o grace_n such_o a_o argument_n will_v prevail_v i_o shall_v sin_v against_o god_n if_o i_o neglect_v this_o duty_n if_o i_o commit_v this_o i_o shall_v dishonour_v god_n i_o shall_v offend_v my_o brother_n i_o shall_v wound_v my_o conscience_n i_o shall_v walk_v unsuitable_o to_o the_o name_n that_o be_v call_v upon_o i_o to_o my_o holy_a profession_n i_o shall_v walk_v unanswerable_o to_o the_o grace_n that_o i_o be_o plant_v under_o when_o such_o argument_n as_o these_o be_v of_o a_o prevail_a power_n it_o be_v a_o argument_n that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v come_v with_o power_n into_o our_o soul_n when_o christ_n argument_n be_v the_o sway_v and_o the_o you_o hear_v concern_v a_o growth_n in_o grace_n but_o neither_o preacher_n nor_o hearer_n set_v yourselves_o to_o answer_v your_o duty_n now_o owe_v shall_v we_o give_v account_n of_o this_o if_o tell_v you_o that_o this_o be_v dangerous_a we_o must_v as_o we_o will_v approve_v ourselves_o to_o god_n and_o walk_v worthy_a of_o the_o provision_n he_o have_v make_v to_o we_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n that_o as_o we_o have_v receive_v christ_n jesus_n the_o lord_n so_o to_o walk_v in_o he_o grow_v up_o in_o he_o that_o be_v the_o head_n and_o increase_v with_o the_o increase_n of_o god_n suitableness_n in_o their_o deportment_n and_o carriage_n and_o expense_n and_o laying_n out_o they_o will_v fare_v better_o and_o they_o will_v go_v better_o apparel_v and_o they_o will_v be_v more_o ready_a to_o give_v and_o they_o will_v drive_v great_a trade_n you_o know_v this_o as_o well_o as_o i_o and_o better_a to_o you_o know_v how_o man_n make_v it_o appear_v that_o they_o be_v rich_a man_n of_o more_o able_a estate_n why_o and_o do_v not_o you_o know_v how_o you_o may_v make_v it_o appear_v that_o you_o be_v better_a man_n in_o christ_n that_o you_o be_v better_o in_o godliness_n that_o you_o have_v more_o grace_n than_o you_o have_v sure_o you_o can_v but_o reach_v this_o apprehension_n and_o know_v how_o you_o may_v make_v it_o appear_v that_o you_o be_v so_o that_o you_o be_v better_o in_o faith_n and_o godliness_n wicked_a man_n they_o do_v make_v it_o clear_o to_o appear_v that_o they_o be_v worse_o than_o once_o they_o be_v they_o will_v act_v more_o vigorous_o themselves_o without_o shame_n and_o any_o check_n without_o any_o startle_a at_o it_o discover_v themselves_o that_o they_o be_v resolve_v upon_o it_o for_o to_o go_v on_o with_o a_o high_a hand_n in_o their_o evil_a way_n why_o now_o can_v you_o tell_v you_o that_o be_v the_o son_n and_o daughter_n of_o grace_n that_o have_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o you_o the_o truth_n in_o you_o and_o who_o duty_n it_o be_v to_o grow_v in_o grace_n can_v you_o tell_v how_o you_o may_v

science_n knowledge_n and_o skill_n in_o mystery_n and_o trade_n knowledge_n in_o civil_a affair_n a_o knowledge_n that_o concern_v worldly_a negotiation_n and_o transaction_n of_o affair_n in_o kingdom_n and_o nation_n here_o below_o but_o this_o though_o it_o be_v a_o useful_a knowledge_n in_o its_o kind_n yet_o this_o be_v not_o the_o knowledge_n that_o we_o have_v now_o under_o consideration_n but_o it_o be_v a_o divine_a knowledge_n a_o scripture_n knowledge_n a_o knowledge_n of_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n and_o that_o concern_v religion_n and_o in_o such_o knowledge_n it_o be_v our_o duty_n to_o endeavour_v a_o growth_n and_o it_o may_v very_o well_o be_v require_v of_o those_o that_o do_v know_v that_o they_o still_o know_v more_o and_o more_o that_o they_o that_o have_v any_o knowledge_n shall_v endeavour_v a_o growth_n in_o that_o knowledge_n in_o general_a this_o reason_n may_v well_o pass_v for_o it_o we_o do_v know_v but_o in_o part_n when_o we_o know_v at_o the_o most_o when_o we_o have_v the_o most_o of_o knowledge_n yet_o alas_o how_o little_a be_v it_o that_o we_o know_v in_o comparison_n of_o what_o be_v to_o be_v know_v i_o remember_v there_o when_o they_o come_v to_o be_v a_o know_a people_n the_o image_n of_o god_n it_o be_v consistent_a in_o knowledge_n as_o well_o as_o in_o righteousness_n and_o grace_n the_o apostle_n speak_v concern_v the_o renew_n of_o the_o mind_n which_o be_v renew_v after_o god_n in_o knowledge_n and_o we_o never_o come_v to_o resemble_v god_n as_o we_o ought_v unless_o we_o come_v to_o be_v a_o people_n well_o furnish_v with_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n 2._o i_o add_v this_o further_o it_o may_v well_o be_v require_v that_o there_o be_v a_o growth_n in_o knowledge_n because_o it_o be_v a_o part_n of_o the_o rich_a treasure_n which_o be_v lay_v up_o in_o christ_n for_o the_o inrichment_n of_o the_o soul_n of_o his_o redeem_a one_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o in_o christ_n be_v hide_v all_o the_o treasure_n of_o wisdom_n and_o knowledge_n so_o that_o knowledge_n be_v one_o part_n of_o the_o rich_a treasure_n which_o be_v hide_v in_o christ_n and_o the_o more_o we_o grow_v in_o knowledge_n the_o large_a share_n we_o have_v in_o that_o rich_a treasure_n that_o be_v in_o christ._n reason_n then_o there_o be_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o endeavour_v of_o a_o growth_n in_o knowledge_n 3._o and_o then_o add_v yet_o further_o the_o more_o we_o grow_v in_o knowledge_n the_o more_o able_a shall_v be_v to_o discern_v of_o sin_n and_o make_v a_o judgement_n upon_o that_o how_o often_o be_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v no_o sin_n judge_v to_o be_v sin_n and_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v sin_n judge_v to_o be_v none_o at_o all_o and_o whence_o be_v it_o but_o through_o a_o defectiveness_n in_o knowledge_n sometime_o and_o often_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o tender_a conscience_n for_o want_v of_o due_a light_n tender_a and_o scrupulous_a conscience_n they_o be_v wonderful_a apt_a for_o to_o make_v those_o thing_n to_o be_v sin_n which_o god_n and_o his_o law_n never_o make_v and_o so_o sometime_o with_o hypocrite_n as_o in_o our_o saviour_n time_n o_o what_o a_o matter_n be_v it_o among_o the_o pharisee_n to_o eat_v with_o unwashen_n hand_n which_o be_v no_o sin_n and_o to_o drink_v in_o unwashen_n cup_n and_o this_o and_o that_o thus_o it_o be_v sometime_o with_o hypocrite_n and_o i_o may_v instance_n in_o sundry_a particular_n and_o so_o in_o the_o case_n of_o scrupulous_a conscience_n how_o many_o be_v there_o that_o be_v apt_a to_o reckon_v those_o thing_n to_o be_v sin_n and_o startle_v at_o which_o indeed_o be_v no_o sin_n as_o now_o many_o through_o tenderness_n of_o conscience_n be_v fearful_a to_o take_v that_o liberty_n in_o meat_n and_o drink_n which_o christ_n have_v purchase_v for_o they_o how_o many_o out_o of_o a_o tenderness_n and_o scrupulousness_n of_o conscience_n though_o necessity_n have_v require_v it_o have_v be_v afraid_a to_o take_v any_o bodily_a refresh_n in_o the_o day_n wherein_o they_o be_v to_o partake_v of_o the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n before_o they_o have_v eat_v at_o that_o table_n afraid_a lest_o they_o shall_v sin_v against_o god_n in_o take_v something_o for_o necessary_a refresh_n of_o the_o body_n a_o sin_n in_o their_o account_n which_o in_o admiring_n of_o the_o glorious_a mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o otherwise_o you_o will_v i_o will_v you_o will_v a_o little_a think_v of_o this_o point_n and_o for_o my_o part_n i_o do_v you_o have_v the_o acknowledgement_n that_o one_o of_o they_o make_v this_o man_n be_v upon_o the_o cross_n with_o we_o he_o suffer_v as_o we_o suffer_v as_o to_o the_o matter_n of_o suffering_n he_o suffering_n it_o be_v no_o dishonour_n but_o it_o be_v rather_o a_o honour_n to_o he_o say_v the_o apostle_n if_o any_o man_n suffer_v as_o a_o christian_a let_v he_o not_o be_v ashamed_a ashamed_a
