heart_n sweep_v and_o garnish_v sweep_v from_o the_o filth_n of_o common_a sin_n and_o garnish_v with_o common_a grace_n as_o its_o ornament_n so_o that_o there_o seem_v no_o readmission_n or_o re-entrance_n of_o this_o unclean_a spirit_n and_o then_o he_o go_v and_o take_v to_o himself_o seven_o other_o spirit_n worse_o than_o himself_o that_o be_v as_o i_o conceive_v strong_a temptation_n and_o more_o prevail_a lust_n and_o by_o they_o he_o enter_v and_o dwell_v there_o and_o defile_v that_o clean-swept_a house_n and_o not_o only_o keep_v the_o sinner_n from_o be_v better_o but_z make_v his_o latter_a end_n worse_o than_o his_o beginning_n five_o when_o man_n have_v go_v far_o towards_o christianity_n natural_a conscience_n then_o leave_v they_o and_o cease_v to_o excite_v and_o provoke_v they_o to_o a_o further_a proficiency_n conscience_n be_v the_o spur_n that_o quicken_v wicked_a man_n to_o make_v that_o progress_n which_o they_o make_v now_o when_o it_o have_v bring_v they_o past_o common_a sin_n to_o know_a and_o common_a duty_n than_o it_o leave_v they_o and_o urge_v they_o no_o further_o and_o so_o they_o sit_v down_o far_o short_a of_o true_a grace_n and_o christianity_n which_o they_o endeavour_v after_o well_o then_o let_v i_o say_v to_o such_o man_n as_o st._n paul_n to_o the_o galatian_n chap._n 5.7_o you_o do_v run_v well_o who_o hinder_v you_o be_v it_o the_o difficulty_n of_o religion_n or_o the_o strength_n of_o temptation_n the_o flattery_n and_o allurement_n of_o the_o world_n the_o violence_n and_o rage_n of_o your_o own_o lust_n but_o may_v you_o not_o nevertheless_o have_v arm_v yourselves_o with_o peremptory_a resolution_n may_v you_o not_o undaunted_o and_o victorious_o have_v break_v through_o all_o these_o be_v you_o not_o able_a when_o you_o stand_v still_o or_o when_o you_o give_v back_o as_o fright_v and_o terrify_v at_o these_o thing_n to_o make_v one_o step_n and_o another_o step_n still_o forward_o can_v you_o not_o proceed_v still_o further_o and_o press_v onward_o through_o all_o these_o yes_o you_o may_v have_v go_v much_o further_a if_o you_o will_v you_o may_v have_v make_v a_o further_a progress_n though_o all_o hell_n have_v arm_v itself_o against_o you_o therefore_o if_o you_o perish_v there_o will_v be_v cause_n and_o reason_n to_o blame_v yourselves_o you_o can_v only_o charge_v your_o damnation_n on_o your_o own_o wilful_a sloth_n and_o negligence_n this_o may_v suffice_v for_o a_o answer_n to_o the_o three_o general_n whence_o it_o be_v that_o professor_n that_o have_v go_v far_o towards_o christianity_n yet_o fall_v short_a of_o grace_n and_o of_o be_v true_a christian_n they_o be_v too_o nice_a to_o encounter_v difficulty_n they_o be_v apt_a and_o forward_a to_o think_v well_o of_o themselves_o they_o be_v too_o fainthearted_a to_o cope_v with_o temptation_n loath_a to_o disoblige_v the_o world_n and_o will_v not_o proceed_v further_o than_o spur_v on_o by_o a_o natural_a conscience_n and_o therefore_o wilful_o fall_v short_a through_o their_o own_o sloth_n and_o negligence_n of_o grace_n here_o and_o of_o glory_n hereafter_o four_o the_o last_o general_n propound_v be_v to_o show_v you_o the_o folly_n and_o extreme_a misery_n of_o those_o who_o proceed_v thus_o far_o as_o to_o be_v almost_o christian_n and_o yet_o will_v not_o be_v persuade_v to_o be_v such_o altogether_o the_o apostle_n seem_v to_o be_v very_o passionate_a gal._n 3.1_o 3._o o_o foolish_a galatian_n who_o have_v bewitch_v you_o that_o you_o shall_v not_o obey_v the_o truth_n spirit_n and_o make_v so_o far_o progress_n in_o the_o way_n and_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n that_o after_o all_o this_o you_o shall_v fall_v back_o again_o to_o carnal_a fleshly_a rudiment_n why_o the_o same_o may_v i_o say_v to_o many_o you_o that_o be_v professor_n why_o who_o have_v bewitch_v you_o why_o be_v you_o so_o foolish_a as_o when_o you_o have_v not_o only_o begin_v but_o proceed_v far_o towards_o holiness_n and_o true_a grace_n that_o yet_o you_o shall_v give_v over_o and_o sit_v down_o in_o a_o state_n of_o nature_n and_o unregeneracy_n short_a of_o
