dainty_a food_n he_o be_v eat_v of_o it_o alone_o he_o find_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o sweetness_n in_o it_o and_o he_o call_v his_o friend_n oh_o friend_n come_v and_o taste_v and_o see_v how_o good_a it_o be_v if_o you_o do_v but_o taste_v of_o this_o meat_n you_o will_v say_v oh_o taste_n and_o see_v how_o good_a the_o lord_n be_v there_o be_v pleasure_n and_o sweetness_n there_o be_v enough_o to_o take_v up_o all_o your_o affection_n and_o all_o your_o sense_n here_o you_o may_v see_v and_o taste_v you_o may_v see_v beauty_n and_o taste_n sweetness_n the_o tree_n of_o life_n be_v not_o only_o beautiful_a good_a to_o look_v upon_o beautiful_a to_o the_o eye_n but_o it_o be_v good_a for_o food_n let_v i_o tell_v you_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o see_v the_o beauty_n of_o the_o tree_n of_o life_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o look_v upon_o it_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o see_v but_o your_o soul_n must_v taste_v you_o will_v never_o be_v the_o better_a for_o the_o fruit_n that_o grow_v upon_o christ_n unless_o you_o taste_v it_o unless_o you_o come_v and_o feed_v experimental_o upon_o christ_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o hear_v that_o the_o lord_n be_v good_a it_o in_o the_o conscience_n you_o have_v try_v it_o may_v be_v to_o put_v out_o the_o taste_n of_o sin_n to_o do_v away_o the_o bitterness_n that_o sin_n have_v leave_v behind_o and_o you_o swallow_v many_o a_o good_a ordinance_n after_o it_o many_o a_o good_a duty_n as_o you_o have_v suppose_v you_o have_v wash_v with_o your_o own_o tear_n and_o yet_o the_o taste_n of_o sin_n be_v leave_v behind_o and_o true_o brethren_n not_o wonder_v there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o world_n will_v do_v away_o the_o taste_n the_o bitter_a taste_n of_o sin_n but_o only_o the_o taste_n of_o the_o fruit_n of_o christ_n o_o come_v and_o taste_v of_o this_o fruit_n it_o will_v leave_v a_o sweet_a relish_n behind_o it_o will_v leave_v a_o taste_n in_o your_o soul_n and_o conscience_n that_o shall_v always_o be_v above_o and_o prevail_v against_o the_o bitter_a taste_n of_o sin_n nay_o further_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o there_o be_v nothing_o else_o can_v sweeten_v your_o affliction_n there_o be_v nothing_o else_o can_v sweeten_v your_o temptation_n and_o your_o trial_n but_o only_o a_o taste_n of_o the_o fruit_n of_o christ_n this_o will_v take_v away_o all_o the_o bitterness_n their_o mouth_n and_o soul_n and_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o tree_n of_o life_n preserve_v they_o quest_n but_o how_o may_v you_o know_v that_o you_o have_v taste_v of_o this_o fruit_n of_o the_o tree_n of_o life_n answ_n you_o may_v know_v it_o by_o your_o desire_n after_o christ_n when_o the_o soul_n have_v taste_v of_o the_o fruit_n of_o christ_n it_o desire_v to_o taste_v more_o of_o that_o fruit_n and_o it_o will_v see_v a_o averseness_n to_o sin_n so_o do_v the_o spouse_n of_o christ_n she_o sit_v down_o and_o desire_v to_o eat_v as_o i_o tell_v you_o it_o be_v render_v she_o sit_v down_o and_o desire_v to_o eat_v and_o still_o to_o eat_v her_o desire_n be_v carry_v out_o still_o after_o further_a and_o further_a enjoyment_n and_o taste_n of_o christ_n when_o the_o woman_n of_o samaria_n have_v taste_v of_o the_o sweetness_n of_o the_o water_n of_o life_n in_o john_n 14._o 15._o give_v i_o to_o drink_v of_o this_o water_n that_o i_o thirst_v not_o give_v i_o evermore_o to_o drink_v of_o this_o water_n she_o taste_v but_o a_o drop_n and_o this_o give_v she_o to_o cry_v out_o o_o lord_n give_v i_o evermore_o to_o drink_v of_o this_o water_n so_o the_o soul_n have_v once_o taste_v but_o a_o taste_n of_o this_o fruit_n of_o the_o tree_n of_o life_n lord_n give_v i_o evermore_o to_o eat_v of_o this_o tree_n of_o this_o fruit_n again_o it_o be_v know_v by_o the_o contentment_n delight_n and_o satisfaction_n that_o the_o soul_n do_v find_v in_o christ_n by_o the_o taste_n of_o he_o it_o have_v satisfaction_n in_o christ_n a_o high_a esteem_n and_o honourable_a esteem_n such_o a_o esteem_n as_o david_n have_v he_o desire_v to_o be_v a_o doorkeeper_n in_o the_o court_n and_o house_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o so_o the_o soul_n that_o have_v taste_v of_o christ_n oh_o lord_n let_v i_o eat_v of_o thy_o fruit_n though_o my_o condition_n be_v never_o so_o low_a let_v i_o sit_v under_o thy_o tree_n though_o i_o sit_v like_o job_n on_o the_o dunghill_n let_v i_o sit_v down_o and_o eat_v of_o thy_o fruit_n and_o it_o be_v enough_o it_o satisfy_v when_o it_o have_v christ_n whatever_o it_o have_v it_o be_v satisfy_v if_o it_o be_v but_o the_o fruit_n of_o christ_n love_n it_o be_v satisfy_v if_o it_o be_v but_o a_o piece_n of_o bread_n if_o it_o have_v the_o love_n of_o christ_n with_o it_o i_o shall_v say_v lord_z my_o lot_n be_v fall_v on_o a_o lord_n how_o oft_o shall_v my_o brother_n sin_n against_o i_o and_o i_o forgive_v he_o till_o seven_o time_n jesus_n say_v unto_o he_o i_o say_v not_o unto_o thou_o until_o seven_o time_n but_o until_o seventy_o time_n seven_o you_o may_v remember_v the_o doctrine_n which_o we_o be_v insist_v upon_o be_v that_o the_o often_o forgive_a of_o offence_n and_o injury_n be_v a_o duty_n which_o unreadiness_n be_v there_o in_o man_n spirit_n to_o come_v up_o unto_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o oh_o how_o many_o be_v there_o in_o the_o world_n that_o do_v not_o only_o come_v short_a of_o walk_v up_o unto_o this_o rule_n but_o do_v walk_v quite_o contrary_a unto_o it_o and_o i_o shall_v show_v you_o who_o they_o be_v and_o oh_o that_o god_n will_v speak_v convince_o unto_o man_n heart_n 1._o first_o they_o walk_v contrary_a unto_o this_o rule_n of_o christ_n who_o be_v easy_o provoke_v unto_o wrath_n who_o be_v soon_o displease_v who_o be_v soon_o put_v out_o of_o the_o way_n take_v up_o christ_n oh_o how_o far_o be_v such_o spirit_n from_o that_o forbearance_n and_o that_o long-suffering_a that_o the_o gospel_n call_v unto_o where_o be_v the_o grace_n of_o long-suffering_a nay_o such_o spirit_n they_o be_v far_o from_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o love_n love_n believe_v all_o thing_n and_o hope_v all_o thing_n make_v the_o best_a interpretation_n of_o all_o you_o do_v it_o and_o have_v it_o do_v instant_o go_v and_o do_v it_o speedy_o do_v it_o quick_o before_o the_o time_n of_o offering_n be_v past_a the_o lord_n will_v not_o receive_v gift_n and_o offering_n from_o that_o hand_n or_o from_o that_o tongue_n that_o have_v do_v wrong_a unto_o his_o brother_n until_o such_o time_n as_o there_o be_v a_o acknowledgement_n till_o such_o time_n as_o there_o be_v a_o reconciliation_n so_o much_o for_o that_o duty_n which_o concern_v those_o that_o have_v do_v wrong_a unto_o other_o you_o see_v what_o necessity_n do_v lie_v upon_o they_o that_o promise_n that_o god_n will_v be_v with_o he_o god_n have_v promise_v to_o be_v with_o he_o and_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n be_v instead_o of_o all_o creature_n and_o he_o shall_v have_v no_o cause_n to_o complain_v that_o he_o be_v alone_o so_o long_o as_o the_o lord_n be_v with_o he_o he_o also_o consider_v that_o there_o be_v a_o time_n when_o multitude_n shall_v be_v give_v in_o to_o what_o they_o be_v in_o secret_a zealous_a before_o the_o world_n jehu_n like_v come_v and_o see_v my_o zeal_n but_o cold_a and_o remiss_a in_o secret_a and_o so_o will_v give_v fair_a word_n before_o man_n good_a word_n when_o there_o be_v witness_n but_o when_o they_o be_v in_o secret_a and_o in_o private_a in_o their_o family_n and_o the_o like_a they_o care_v not_o what_o rage_n they_o go_v in_o and_o how_o they_o play_v the_o tyrant_n but_o now_o he_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n be_v as_o careful_a of_o his_o duty_n in_o private_a as_o in_o public_a if_o it_o be_v his_o duty_n to_o give_v alm_n he_o will_v give_v as_o much_o where_o there_o be_v no_o witness_n to_o take_v notice_n as_o if_o there_o be_v a_o thousand_o eye_n before_o he_o as_o before_o god_n and_o his_o own_o soul_n he_o dare_v not_o be_v remiss_a there_o if_o remissness_n steal_v in_o upon_o he_o it_o be_v his_o burden_n and_o he_o be_v never_o satisfy_v till_o his_o soul_n be_v bring_v into_o such_o a_o frame_n to_o be_v as_o conscientious_a of_o that_o duty_n which_o he_o owe_v to_o god_n in_o secret_a and_o private_a as_o of_o those_o duty_n which_o the_o world_n take_v notice_n of_o 7._o but_o again_o seven_o he_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n be_v careful_a to_o use_v all_o mean_n by_o which_o he_o may_v get_v nigh_a god_n and_o to_o shun_v all_o occasion_n of_o sin_n which_o set_v the_o soul_n at_o a_o distance_n from_o god_n i_o say_v it_o desire_v to_o use_v all_o mean_n that_o be_v of_o god_n appointment_n for_o get_v nigh_o unto_o god_n he_o will_v wait_v upon_o god_n in_o every_o ordinance_n and_o administration_n of_o the_o word_n and_o seal_n in_o read_v and_o prayer_n in_o communion_n and_o fellowship_n he_o willing_o neglect_v no_o duty_n they_o be_v the_o institution_n of_o jesus_n christ_n he_o look_v upon_o they_o all_o as_o so_o many_o conduit_n pipe_n by_o which_o the_o lord_n convey_v himself_o unto_o his_o people_n they_o be_v golden_a pipe_n every_o spark_n of_o temptation_n that_o the_o devil_n be_v like_a to_o strike_v in_o and_o if_o a_o spark_n fall_v in_o how_o soon_o it_o arise_v to_o a_o flame_n and_o how_o hard_o it_o be_v to_o quench_v it_o and_o therefore_o how_o do_v he_o rise_v against_o sin_n and_o the_o occasion_n of_o sin_n he_o be_v afraid_a of_o those_o thing_n which_o other_o man_n count_v nicety_n and_o punctilio_n and_o the_o like_a or_o they_o may_v go_v under_o the_o colour_n of_o lawfulness_n ay_o but_o he_o be_v fearful_a of_o it_o he_o know_v that_o the_o least_o sin_n cost_v blood_n the_o blood_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o the_o guilt_n of_o the_o least_o transgression_n can_v be_v wash_v away_o without_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n it_o will_v cost_v blood_n to_o wash_v away_o the_o least_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o the_o great_a and_o therefore_o he_o dare_v not_o be_v bold_a to_o meddle_v with_o the_o least_o sin_n but_o he_o shun_v the_o very_a occasion_n his_o life_n and_o therefore_o take_v heed_n that_o you_o do_v not_o act_v against_o he_o let_v christian_n take_v heed_n that_o they_o do_v not_o neglect_v communion_n with_o god_n neglect_v of_o
