have_v nothing_o ceremonial_a in_o it_o and_o the_o four_o commandment_n for_o substance_n consist_v in_o a_o cease_n from_o labour_n and_o a_o holy_a dedication_n of_o our_o rest_n to_o holy_a use_n that_o be_v to_o the_o worship_n and_o service_n of_o god_n sect._n 1_o now_o touch_v the_o first_o point_n the_o rest_n of_o the_o sabbath_n there_o be_v three_o several_a opinion_n rest._n whereof_o two_o be_v contrary_a and_o the_o three_o be_v a_o mean_a between_o both_o the_o first_o opinion_n be_v that_o we_o be_v bind_v as_o strict_o to_o keep_v the_o outward_a rest_n of_o the_o lord_n day_n as_o the_o jew_n be_v to_o keep_v the_o sabbath_n and_o sundry_a man_n be_v of_o this_o mind_n but_o i_o take_v it_o this_o opinion_n be_v not_o warrantable_a for_o as_o we_o say_v before_o the_o jewish_a manner_n of_o keep_v the_o sabbath_n in_o straitnes_n be_v a_o ceremony_n and_o if_o we_o be_v bind_v to_o keep_v it_o as_o strait_o as_o the_o jew_n do_v than_o judaism_n must_v still_o remain_v and_o the_o ceremonial_a law_n at_o least_o in_o some_o part_n must_v still_o be_v in_o force_n but_o in_o favour_n of_o this_o opinion_n it_o be_v allege_v first_o that_o the_o four_o commandment_n be_v a_o law_n give_v as_o well_o to_o christian_n as_o to_o jew_n and_o therefore_o it_o bind_v both_o alike_o ans._n the_o four_o commandment_n bind_v christian_n to_o keep_v a_o seven_o day_n for_o the_o sabbath_n both_o in_o respect_n of_o rest_n as_o also_o in_o regard_n of_o sanctification_n thereof_o but_o that_o it_o bind_v they_o to_o the_o same_o strait_a manner_n of_o keep_v the_o rest_n as_o it_o do_v the_o jew_n we_o utter_o deny_v second_o that_o the_o reason_n use_v to_o inforc_n the_o commandment_n do_v equal_o bind_v all_o therefore_o the_o commandment_n itself_o ans._n it_o be_v true_a for_o the_o duty_n command_v but_o not_o for_o the_o manner_n of_o performance_n again_o the_o reason_n allege_v do_v not_o follow_v for_o sometime_o the_o holy_a ghost_n use_v a_o reason_n that_o be_v perpetual_a to_o enforce_v a_o ceremony_n that_o levi_n shall_v have_v no_o part_n nor_o inheritance_n among_o his_o brethren_n be_v a_o ceremony_n command_v by_o god_n and_o yet_o the_o lord_n enforce_v it_o with_o a_o reason_n that_o be_v perpetual_a namely_o because_o himself_o be_v the_o part_n and_o inheritance_n of_o levi_n among_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n numb_a 18._o 20._o three_o that_o the_o sabbath_n be_v a_o sign_n to_o believer_n in_o the_o new_a testament_n that_o god_n be_v their_o god_n and_o they_o his_o people_n and_o the_o same_o it_o be_v to_o the_o jew_n therefore_o the_o bond_n be_v as_o strict_a to_o the_o one_o as_o to_o the_o other_o ans._n 1._o believer_n under_o the_o gospel_n have_v two_o only_a sign_n of_o the_o covenant_n baptism_n and_o the_o lord_n supper_n and_o no_o more_o 2._o the_o scripture_n restrain_v the_o sabbath_n as_o a_o sign_n only_o to_o the_o jew_n it_o be_v a_o sign_n between_o i_o and_o you_o in_o your_o generation_n exod._n 31._o 13._o again_o v_o 16._o the_o child_n of_o israel_n shall_v keep_v the_o sabbath_n for_o a_o everlasting_a covenant_n 3._o the_o sabbath_n be_v not_o a_o sign_n in_o the_o first_o institution_n in_o paradise_n for_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n be_v make_v after_o the_o fall_n of_o man_n and_o the_o sign_n thereof_o must_v needs_o be_v appoint_v after_o it_o consider_v that_o before_o the_o fall_n ceremony_n signify_v sanctification_n have_v no_o place_n and_o this_o be_v the_o first_o opinion_n the_o second_o opinion_n touch_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o sabbath_n be_v flat_a contrary_n to_o the_o former_a namely_o that_o on_o the_o sabbath_n day_n after_o the_o public_a worship_n of_o god_n be_v end_v and_o the_o congregation_n dissolve_v man_n have_v liberty_n either_o to_o give_v themselves_o to_o labour_n or_o to_o honest_a pleasure_n and_o recreation_n this_o opinion_n do_v quite_o abolish_v one_o of_o the_o commandment_n of_o the_o decalogue_n for_o it_o presuppose_v all_o day_n to_o be_v alike_o this_o only_o provide_v that_o the_o public_a worship_n of_o god_n be_v solemn_o keep_v now_o this_o may_v be_v do_v in_o any_o
