apostasy_n be_v the_o great_a sin_n of_o the_o visible_a church_n to_o which_o she_o have_v a_o strong_a inclination_n natural_o even_o in_o her_o best_a frame_n any_o other_o course_n she_o follow_v be_v but_o a_o motion_n against_o nature_n for_o it_o be_v a_o challenge_n that_o they_o not_o only_o backslide_v from_o what_o they_o attain_v but_o be_v bend_v to_o backslide_v see_v chap._n 6.4_o 2._o mens_fw-la hang_v sometime_o in_o suspense_n and_o have_v some_o inclination_n to_o return_v will_v neither_o double_v out_o their_o point_n against_o the_o power_n of_o corruption_n within_o apostasy_n and_o defection_n and_o every_o backslide_n of_o the_o church_n in_o duty_n or_o worship_n be_v a_o backslide_n from_o god_n in_o so_o far_o as_o man_n thereby_o do_v renounce_v his_o prerogative_n to_o be_v the_o sovereign_a lord_n to_o prescribe_v their_o duty_n and_o the_o way_n of_o his_o own_o service_n and_o do_v renounce_v these_o way_n and_o mean_n wherein_o only_a communion_n with_o god_n be_v to_o be_v find_v and_o entertain_v in_o these_o respect_v it_o be_v challenge_v that_o they_o backslide_v from_o i_o say_v the_o lord_n 4._o god_n will_v not_o forget_v a_o backslide_a people_n interest_n and_o pretence_n of_o interest_n in_o he_o to_o aggravate_v their_o sin_n for_o it_o add_v to_o the_o challenge_n my_o people_n be_v bend_v to_o backslide_v it_o can_v but_o grieve_v god_n when_o these_o who_o he_o have_v choosen_v to_o be_v his_o peculiar_a people_n and_o have_v put_v they_o in_o possession_n of_o special_a favour_n and_o gain_v their_o consent_n in_o part_n do_v recede_v from_o he_o as_o unworthy_a and_o do_v choose_v husk_n whereon_o the_o world_n feed_v as_o the_o only_a desirable_a portion_n and_o it_o be_v a_o sad_a case_n to_o do_v duty_n when_o it_o come_v 2._o whoever_o be_v asleep_a in_o time_n of_o threaten_a or_o incumbent_a danger_n yet_o minister_n ought_v especial_o to_o be_v awake_a that_o they_o may_v stir_v
