you_o sensible_a of_o your_o duty_n and_o look_v upon_o yourselves_o to_o be_v debtor_n to_o they_o and_o esteem_v of_o they_o the_o more_o but_o do_v these_o pastor_n who_o be_v rich_a able_a and_o willing_a to_o serve_v the_o church_n for_o nothing_o sequester_n or_o give_v themselves_o up_o to_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n and_o faithful_o discharge_v that_o trust_n as_o another_o who_o the_o needy_a or_o to_o help_v other_o poor_a minister_n who_o serve_v other_o church_n who_o poverty_n may_v be_v such_o that_o they_o can_v allow_v a_o sufficient_a maintenance_n to_o their_o pastor_n and_o therefore_o whether_o it_o may_v be_v necessary_a for_o you_o to_o with_o hold_v it_o from_o they_o or_o for_o they_o to_o refuse_v it_o be_v worth_a consideration_n sixthly_a but_o to_o proceed_v since_o we_o be_v plead_v the_o case_n in_o point_n of_o equity_n and_o just_a right_n let_v it_o be_v consider_v you_o do_v not_o choose_v such_o man_n to_o be_v your_o pastor_n or_o thereof_o which_o be_v just_o esteem_v commendable_a in_o other_o shall_v be_v think_v in_o he_o to_o be_v a_o fault_n and_o be_v it_o not_o sad_a judge_v you_o that_o they_o must_v be_v constrain_v and_o yet_o we_o can_v be_v unsensible_a of_o
thing_n for_o he_o as_o there_o lie_v upon_o he_o to_o provide_v spiritual_a good_a thing_n for_o they_o and_o to_o give_v he_o ground_n to_o believe_v they_o will_v be_v faithful_a to_o christ_n their_o duty_n to_o the_o utmost_a themselves_o and_o yet_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o supply_v his_o necessity_n than_o he_o must_v be_v content_v to_o suffer_v with_o the_o church_n but_o 2._o if_o god_n bless_v a_o congregation_n with_o a_o plentiful_a portion_n of_o this_o world_n good_a it_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o make_v their_o minister_n a_o party_n with_o they_o in_o their_o flourish_a condition_n and_o as_o a_o late_a author_n say_v consider_v the_o place_n and_o employment_n he_o be_v in_o and_o the_o service_n he_o attend_v it_o will_v be_v extreme_o unworthy_a to_o as_o paul_n do_v by_o hunger_n and_o nakedness_n if_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n call_v he_o thereto_o but_o whilst_o it_o be_v in_o the_o power_n of_o their_o hand_n to_o provide_v better_o for_o he_o god_n expect_v it_o from_o they_o and_o let_v none_o deceive_v themselves_o god_n be_v not_o mock_v nor_o will_v he_o suffer_v his_o command_n to_o be_v slight_v and_o evade_v without_o render_v a_o just_a rebuke_n to_o the_o offender_n for_o whatsoever_o a_o man_n sow_v that_o shall_v he_o reap_v yet_o necessity_n be_v lay_v upon_o christ_n minister_n and_o woe_n be_v to_o they_o if_o they_o preach_v not_o the_o gospel_n 3._o it_o may_v deserve_v our_o most_o mature_a consideration_n whether_o a_o people_n may_v safe_o constitute_v themselves_o into_o a_o church_n state_n when_o not_o able_a to_o provide_v for_o a_o ministry_n especial_o as_o the_o case_n may_v be_v circumstance_v for_o possible_o they_o may_v very_o well_o join_v themselves_o to_o another_o congregation_n near_o unto_o they_o and_o be_v a_o great_a help_n to_o such_o a_o church_n be_v embody_v with_o they_o and_o this_o we_o do_v say_v for_o a_o people_n to_o put_v themselves_o into_o a_o church_n state_n be_v one_o of_o the_o most_o weighty_a thing_n in_o the_o world_n and_o aught_o with_o as_o great_a care_n and_o consideration_n to_o be_v do_v we_o conclude_v in_o some_o place_n where_o there_o be_v many_o church_n near_o to_o each_o other_o it_o will_v be_v far_o better_o for_o some_o of_o those_o small_a and_o insufficient_a society_n to_o unite_v themselves_o to_o some_o other_o congregation_n and_o by_o that_o mean_v the_o weight_n of_o those_o indispencible_a duty_n and_o obligation_n that_o be_v incumbent_n on_o they_o will_v with_o much_o more_o ease_n be_v bear_v and_o answer_v to_o the_o honour_n of_o christ_n reputation_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o their_o own_o edification_n moreover_o if_o all_o christian_n ought_v to_o consider_v whether_o they_o may_v or_o aught_o to_o put_v themselves_o into_o a_o church_n state_n except_o they_o have_v person_n fit_o qualify_v and_o furnish_v with_o gift_n and_o grace_n for_o the_o ministry_n which_o if_o they_o may_v not_o safe_o do_v then_o by_o the_o same_o parity_n of_o reason_n ought_v they_o to_o consider_v whether_o they_o may_v proceed_v therein_o if_o they_o know_v their_o own_o insufficiency_n in_o respect_n of_o their_o make_v a_o gospel_n provision_n for_o their_o maintenance_n unless_o they_o live_v remote_a from_o any_o other_o church_n and_o so_o necessity_n put_v they_o upon_o their_o so_o do_v obj._n but_o be_v not_o this_o to_o build_v that_o which_o you_o yourselves_o have_v destroy_v viz._n have_v you_o not_o disclaim_v against_o such_o who_o preach_v for_o hire_n answ_n we_o never_o go_v about_o we_o hope_v to_o destroy_v any_o institution_n or_o ordinance_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o the_o minister_n maintenance_n be_v as_o have_v sufficient_o be_v prove_v but_o for_o man_n to_o preach_v for_o hire_n to_o make_v that_o their_o end_n we_o mean_v in_o preach_v the_o gospel_n we_o still_o utter_o disclaim_v any_o such_o practice_n and_o say_v it_o be_v a_o low_a carnal_a and_o hase_fw-mi end_n you_o disow_v your_o duty_n to_o the_o poor_a saint_n and_o not_o relieve_v they_o but_o object_n and_o say_v it_o be_v too_o much_o like_o the_o national_a practice_n or_o do_v you_o not_o like_o preach_v after_o that_o manner_n i._n e._n with_o a_o text_n doctrine_n reason_n and_o application_n because_o such_o and_o such_o do_v so_o who_o you_o disow_v and_o can_v have_v communion_n with_o blind_a corner_n of_o this_o nation_n nor_o the_o church_n increase_v no_o more_o beside_o do_v not_o many_o poor_a sinner_n daily_o perish_v hereby_o for_o want_v of_o knowledge_n brethren_n it_o be_v not_o for_o ourselves_o but_o for_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o sink_a interest_n that_o we_o plead_v for_o it_o grieve_v our_o soul_n to_o hear_v what_o cry_v there_o be_v in_o many_o part_n of_o this_o kingdom_n for_o want_n of_o bread_n some_o be_v force_v we_o hear_v to_o go_v twelve_o or_o sixteen_o mile_n to_o hear_v a_o sermon_n now_o if_o minister_n of_o church_n make_v it_o their_o whole_a business_n to_o preach_v the_o word_n and_o concern_v themselves_o for_o the_o promote_a of_o the_o truth_n it_o will_v not_o be_v as_o it_o be_v at_o this_o very_a time_n nor_o can_v we_o not_o what_o become_v of_o the_o interest_n of_o jesus_n christ_n no_o it_o be_v to_o encourage_v the_o faithful_a and_o labourous_a person_n who_o be_v willing_a to_o give_v himself_o up_o to_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o discharge_v of_o that_o great_a turst_z commit_v to_o he_o and_o to_o labour_v indeed_o in_o christ_n vineyard_n it_o be_v in_o truth_n â—_o shame_n for_o a_o minister_n to_o receive_v the_o lord_n wages_n and_o not_o do_v the_o lord_n work_n some_o there_o be_v in_o the_o world_n â—hat_n do_v not_o deserve_v the_o name_n of_o miniâ—…ers_n they_o do_v the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n so_o deceitful_o our_o church_n also_o be_v it_o be_v like_a in_o some_o place_n in_o the_o country_n but_o small_a and_o â—re_n like_a to_o be_v small_a if_o the_o ministry_n 〈◊〉_d not_o awaken_v to_o become_v more_o labourous_a be_v there_o not_o such_o in_o some_o town_n who_o be_v hardly_o know_v by_o the_o inhabitant_n to_o be_v minister_n at_o â—ll_a they_o be_v so_o little_o concern_v in_o preach_v they_o be_v better_o know_v to_o be_v farmer_n yeoman_n and_o tradesman_n than_o preacher_n of_o the_o gospel_n they_o be_v entangle_v so_o in_o the_o affair_n of_o this_o find_v quick_o a_o decay_n in_o your_o estate_n and_o be_v in_o a_o sink_a condition_n in_o the_o world_n which_o it_o be_v like_a will_v soon_o startle_v you_o and_o stir_v you_o up_o to_o great_a care_n and_o industry_n and_o ought_v you_o not_o to_o be_v as_o considerate_a in_o the_o great_a concernment_n of_o christ_n his_o gospel_n and_o church_n we_o take_v it_o not_o upon_o we_o to_o reprehend_v any_o of_o
they_o preach_v but_o now_o and_o then_o answ_n that_o must_v be_v leave_v to_o the_o wisdom_n and_o consideration_n of_o the_o church_n who_o ought_v to_o consider_v the_o person_n circumstance_n and_o a_o sublime_a office_n he_o be_v place_v in_o a_o very_a high_a sphere_n and_o station_n hence_o call_v the_o ambassador_n of_o christ_n what_o high_a dignity_n can_v be_v confer_v on_o man_n the_o greatness_n of_o the_o prince_n who_o messenger_n they_o be_v set_v forth_o their_o dignity_n they_o be_v in_o christ_n stead_n employ_v in_o the_o great_a affair_n of_o his_o spiritual_a kingdom_n and_o have_v receive_v authority_n from_o he_o and_o be_v also_o prepare_v and_o qualify_v for_o this_o sacred_a work_n by_o he_o and_o indeed_o therefore_o ought_v to_o be_v blameless_a as_o the_o steward_n of_o god_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o those_o who_o be_v say_v to_o receive_v they_o receive_v he_o and_o those_o who_o despise_v they_o despise_v him._n o_o with_o what_o holy_a fear_n dread_a and_o reverence_n ought_v they_o to_o enter_v upon_o this_o work_n and_o office_n lest_o they_o shall_v dishonour_v their_o great_a and_o glorious_a prince_n and_o heavenly_a sovereign_n who_o they_o represent_v be_v it_o not_o a_o weighty_a thing_n to_o be_v make_v the_o mouth_n of_o christ_n 2._o nay_o and_o this_o be_v not_o all_o they_o be_v entrust_v with_o matter_n of_o the_o high_a moment_n in_o the_o world_n christ_n have_v commit_v the_o management_n of_o his_o glorious_a interest_n and_o great_a concern_v he_o have_v on_o earth_n into_o their_o hand_n they_o be_v send_v to_o treat_v with_o poor_a sinner_n about_o eternal_a matter_n even_o the_o eternal_a life_n or_o eternal_a death_n and_o damnation_n of_o their_o precious_a and_o immortal_a soul_n in_o and_o about_o these_o thing_n minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v fellow_n worker_n together_o with_o christ_n 2._o cor._n 6.1_o though_o but_o as_o instrument_n serve_v he_o as_o the_o principal_a
