make_v the_o best_a of_o it_o it_o be_v but_o a_o beautiful_a cloak_n of_o thy_o filthy_a shame_n then_o as_o bolt_n &_o fetter_n be_v burdenous_a and_o shameful_a though_o they_o be_v of_o gold_n apparel_n be_v fit_a for_o it_o and_o therefore_o know_v that_o whereas_o god_n have_v give_v thou_o use_v of_o costly_a apparel_n and_o precious_a ornament_n he_o give_v they_o not_o to_o honour_v thy_o body_n but_o the_o place_n thou_o be_v in_o and_o to_o adorn_v that_o part_n of_o his_o own_o image_n which_o he_o have_v set_v in_o thou_o by_o thy_o call_n and_o know_v last_o that_o if_o thou_o have_v keep_v that_o order_n wherein_o god_n at_o thy_o creation_n as_o this_o text_n say_v ordain_v thou_o thy_o natural_a glory_n will_v more_o have_v adorn_v thou_o and_o the_o place_n thou_o bear_v than_o all_o this_o accidental_a and_o artificial_a glory_n can_v and_o therefore_o glory_v not_o so_o much_o for_o the_o one_o as_o be_v ashamed_a for_o the_o loss_n of_o the_o other_o and_o let_v thy_o apparel_n teach_v thou_o this_o lesson_n three_o many_o man_n take_v much_o delight_n in_o some_o kind_n of_o meat_n some_o in_o variety_n of_o meat_n and_o some_o so_o love_v their_o belly_n as_o they_o care_v not_o how_o many_o creature_n or_o kind_n of_o creature_n do_v die_v for_o their_o belly_n sake_n this_o be_v to_o be_v consider_v for_o i_o take_v it_o a_o great_a fault_n for_o man_n either_o to_o be_v too_o lavish_a and_o careless_a how_o many_o creature_n they_o cause_v to_o die_v or_o though_o they_o eat_v but_o one_o kind_n to_o do_v it_o without_o all_o use_n or_o further_a consideration_n for_o mark_v whence_o come_v this_o that_o man_n can_v now_o live_v or_o not_o so_o well_o but_o his_o life_n must_v be_v the_o death_n of_o other_o creature_n his_o nourishment_n and_o preservation_n the_o destruction_n of_o other_o creature_n at_o the_o beginning_n before_o sin_n be_v this_o be_v not_o so_o no_o creature_n do_v either_o serve_v to_o clothe_v or_o feed_v adam_n but_o this_o come_v with_o sin_n sin_n bring_v this_o vanity_n upon_o creature_n to_o die_v for_o the_o feed_n and_o clothing_n of_o man_n and_o have_v we_o stand_v and_o man_n penitent_a must_v not_o therefore_o judge_v they_o castaway_n for_o god_n mercy_n call_v a_o man_n in_o his_o old_a age_n and_o touch_v the_o heart_n when_o it_o please_v he_o christ_n crafty_a malice_n of_o wicked_a man_n all_o these_o we_o be_v sure_a to_o meet_v withal_o be_v it_o not_o then_o folly_n for_o a_o man_n to_o undertake_v this_o profession_n and_o not_o to_o when_o they_o feel_v to_o be_v too_o heavy_a for_o their_o lazy_a shoulder_n to_o bear_v with_o ease_n they_o foul_o fall_v to_o plain_a carelessness_n and_o neglect_v all_o do_v good_a in_o their_o place_n and_o wish_v they_o have_v never_o buy_v honour_n so_o dear_a so_o other_o think_v the_o ministry_n nothing_o but_o a_o place_n of_o ease_n exemption_n and_o preferment_n and_o in_o these_o conceit_n rush_v presumptuous_o &_o rash_o into_o that_o holy_a state_n never_o think_v aforehand_o of_o that_o great_a charge_n of_o soul_n they_o be_v to_o take_v nor_o of_o that_o heavy_a account_n they_o be_v to_o make_v for_o they_o nor_o of_o the_o hatred_n and_o contempt_n and_o extreme_a disgrace_n they_o be_v sure_a to_o find_v if_o they_o do_v their_o duty_n with_o conscience_n and_o therefore_o when_o upon_o experience_n they_o find_v it_o so_o to_o be_v they_o either_o fall_v to_o carnal_a course_n with_o the_o world_n and_o neglect_v their_o duty_n that_o by_o these_o two_o mean_n they_o may_v please_v the_o world_n or_o else_o they_o continue_v in_o their_o duty_n with_o much_o grief_n and_o vexation_n wish_v they_o have_v choose_v rather_o any_o call_n than_o the_o ministry_n and_o by_o either_o of_o both_o do_v expose_v themselves_o to_o shame_n and_o much_o rebuke_n whereas_o contrariwise_o he_o that_o aforehand_o cast_v his_o account_n what_o it_o will_v cost_v he_o to_o be_v a_o minister_n what_o he_o must_v undertake_v what_o he_o must_v lose_v what_o he_o be_v sure_a to_o find_v be_v so_o settle_a and_o resolve_v aforehand_o as_o he_o go_v through_o all_o danger_n and_o contempt_n with_o comfort_n courage_n and_o contentment_n let_v we_o therefore_o all_o learn_v by_o this_o practice_n of_o god_n when_o we_o think_v to_o enter_v upon_o god_n servant_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o this_o good_a report_n they_o receive_v not_o the_o promise_n that_o be_v the_o promise_n of_o christ_n incarnation_n in_o their_o day_n they_o receive_v christ_n true_o by_o faith_n and_o so_o see_v his_o day_n but_o his_o actual_a incarnation_n in_o the_o flesh_n they_o live_v not_o to_o see_v whereas_o it_o be_v say_v that_o by_o faith_n they_o obtain_v testimony_n here_o first_o observe_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o man_n that_o make_v he_o acceptable_a to_o god_n but_o faith_n only_o god_n regard_v no_o man_n person_n he_o accept_v not_o of_o a_o man_n because_o he_o be_v a_o king_n or_o because_o he_o be_v wise_a or_o rich_a or_o strong_a etc._n etc._n but_o if_o a_o man_n believe_v than_o the_o lord_n be_v ready_a to_o give_v testimony_n of_o he_o that_o he_o like_v well_o of_o he_o in_o regard_v
sin_n and_o the_o infusion_n of_o inward_a righteousness_n stand_v in_o hope_n and_o charity_n especial_o and_o the_o second_o whereby_o of_o a_o good_a man_n one_o be_v make_v better_o and_o more_o those_o who_o hold_v that_o concupiscence_n or_o original_a sin_n be_v not_o a_o quality_n but_o a_o essence_n or_o substance_n live_v and_o subsist_v by_o itself_o for_o here_o we_o see_v a_o plain_a difference_n between_o a_o man_n body_n and_o soul_n and_o original_a sin_n that_o compass_v they_o else_o the_o holy_a ghost_n will_v not_o bid_v we_o to_o cast_v off_o this_o sin_n for_o that_o faculty_n whereby_o a_o man_n be_v unconformable_a to_o the_o will_n of_o his_o creator_n and_o prone_a to_o that_o which_o be_v evil_a and_o this_o three_o thing_n be_v it_o which_o be_v here_o speak_v of_o different_z from_o man_n substance_n and_o faculty_n and_o so_o be_v not_o a_o substance_n in_o man_n or_o man_n nature_n corrupt_v but_o a_o ill_a disposition_n therein_o four_o hence_o also_o we_o learn_v what_o a_o regenerate_a man_n do_v most_o feel_v in_o himself_o namely_o original_a sin_n the_o corruption_n of_o his_o nature_n for_o that_o hang_v on_o fast_o and_o hinder_v he_o in_o the_o practice_n of_o all_o good_a duty_n this_o paul_n know_v well_o and_o therefore_o confess_v that_o he_o see_v another_o law_n in_o his_o member_n rebel_a against_o the_o law_n of_o his_o free_a spirit_n he_o will_v give_v we_o to_o understand_v that_o by_o original_a corruption_n he_o be_v restrain_v of_o his_o christian_a liberty_n and_o hinder_v in_o all_o good_a affection_n holy_a action_n and_o heavenly_a meditation_n which_o cause_v he_o to_o pray_v for_o liberty_n and_o freedom_n by_o the_o spirit_n so_o that_o it_o be_v plain_a the_o servant_n of_o god_n feel_v this_o corruption_n clog_a and_o hinder_v he_o from_o all_o good_a duty_n 1._o this_o serve_v to_o admonish_v all_o secure_a person_n which_o never_o feel_v sin_n to_o be_v a_o clog_n or_o burden_n unto_o they_o of_o their_o fearful_a and_o dangerous_a estate_n for_o to_o every_o child_n of_o god_n original_a corruption_n be_v a_o grievous_a burden_n now_o confer_v with_o a_o natural_a man_n and_o upon_o their_o word_n they_o be_v angel_n among_o man_n but_o indeed_o they_o be_v blind_a and_o ignorant_a and_o wonderful_o deceive_v by_o satan_n for_o all_o god_n servant_n in_o this_o life_n do_v continual_o bewail_v the_o corruption_n of_o their_o nature_n cry_v out_o against_o original_a sin_n that_o it_o hinder_v they_o in_o do_v the_o good_a thing_n which_o they_o will_v do_v and_o cause_v they_o to_o do_v that_o evil_n which_o they_o will_v not_o these_o man_n therefore_o that_o be_v never_o trouble_v with_o corruption_n but_o to_o their_o own_o think_v have_v grace_n at_o will_n be_v in_o a_o fearful_a case_n their_o mind_n be_v still_o blind_v and_o their_o heart_n harden_v they_o be_v dead_a in_o sin_n abide_v in_o darkness_n unto_o this_o hour_n and_o if_o they_o go_v thus_o on_o to_o death_n they_o shall_v find_v that_o sin_n will_v unvizor_n himself_o and_o then_o they_o shall_v know_v what_o sin_n mean_v and_o find_v the_o terror_n and_o feel_v the_o burden_n of_o it_o when_o it_o be_v too_o late_o like_o the_o foolish_a virgin_n that_o know_v what_o the_o want_n of_o oil_n mean_v when_o the_o door_n be_v shut_v second_o this_o show_n unto_o we_o what_o be_v the_o state_n and_o condition_n of_o the_o child_n of_o god_n in_o this_o life_n he_o be_v not_o here_o a_o saint_n feel_v no_o corruption_n perfect_o sanctify_v &_o free_v from_o all_o sin_n but_o such_o a_o one_o as_o feel_v the_o burden_n of_o corruption_n hinder_v he_o in_o his_o christian_a course_n under_o which_o he_o sigh_v and_o groan_n labour_v by_o all_o good_a mean_n to_o be_v disburden_v and_o to_o cast_v it_o off_o it_o be_v indeed_o a_o matter_n of_o great_a comfort_n for_o a_o man_n to_o feel_v god_n grace_n in_o himself_o as_o faith_n love_n repentance_n sanctification_n and_o such_o like_a but_o no_o child_n of_o god_n can_v always_o or_o alone_o feel_v the_o comfort_n of_o grace_n most_o common_o he_o shall_v be_v trouble_v with_o sin_n if_o he_o be_v god_n child_n now_o if_o feel_v it_o he_o dislike_v himself_o and_o strive_v to_o be_v ease_v of_o it_o this_o be_v a_o sure_a argument_n of_o his_o happy_a estate_n five_o this_o commandment_n to_o cast_v away_o sin_n that_o press_v down_o teach_v every_o child_n of_o god_n to_o labour_v earnest_o for_o the_o government_n and_o direction_n of_o god_n spirit_n for_o we_o have_v within_o we_o original_a corruption_n that_o like_o a_o arm_a man_n beset_v we_o about_o and_o hinder_v we_o in_o every_o good_a thing_n we_o take_v in_o hand_n we_o must_v therefore_o pray_v unto_o god_n daily_o that_o he_o will_v guide_v we_o by_o his_o good_a spirit_n for_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o corruption_n of_o our_o nature_n and_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o sin_n we_o shall_v utter_o fail_v unless_o god_n spirit_n
