over_o the_o christian_a now_o in_o respect_n of_o their_o estate_n hear_v of_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o gospel_n they_o mistake_v it_o and_o begin_v to_o think_v that_o christ_n and_o his_o gospel_n come_v to_o destroy_v policy_n and_o law_n that_o bind_v up_o commonweal_n and_o therefore_o many_o of_o they_o begin_v to_o turn_v grace_n into_o wantonness_n and_o begin_v to_o leave_v their_o master_n think_v that_o the_o gospel_n make_v a_o equality_n of_o person_n as_o the_o anabaptist_n teach_v at_o this_o day_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n perceive_v this_o he_o direct_v this_o all_o the_o want_n that_o be_v in_o us._n therefore_o the_o very_a riches_n 4._o god_n riches_n riches_n that_o be_v in_o he_o shall_v drive_v we_o to_o desire_v a_o portion_n of_o that_o fullness_n ever_o be_v these_o three_o principal_a estate_n and_o rank_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n in_o the_o world_n the_o first_o be_v the_o estate_n of_o husband_n and_o wife_n for_o you_o know_v adam_n ere_o ever_o he_o have_v child_n he_o have_v his_o wife_n the_o next_o after_o estate_n inequality_n in_o all_o estate_n this_o be_v the_o estate_n of_o parent_n and_o child_n and_o then_o by_o process_n of_o time_n there_o become_v some_o master_n and_o some_o servant_n so_o that_o this_o be_v the_o last_o in_o order_n and_o time_n in_o these_o three_o estate_n all_o be_v not_o equal_a but_o there_o be_v a_o inequality_n some_o be_v superior_n and_o some_o be_v inferior_n the_o superior_n he_o have_v make_v to_o be_v husband_n parent_n and_o master_n the_o inferior_n he_o have_v make_v to_o be_v wife_n child_n and_o servant_n for_o if_o all_o be_v equal_a no_o policy_n can_v stand_v nor_o order_n on_o the_o earth_n but_o a_o confusion_n the_o lord_n who_o be_v only_o wise_a know_v this_o and_o therefore_o it_o please_v he_o to_o dispose_v the_o world_n after_o this_o manner_n so_o that_o a_o policy_n may_v be_v keep_v in_o it_o these_o be_v the_o three_o estate_n the_o scripture_n in_o this_o subjection_n then_o simple_a obedience_n the_o obedience_n must_v have_v join_v with_o it_o honour_v of_o thy_o husband_n in_o word_n as_o thou_o obeye_v it_o subjection_n of_o wife_n to_o the_o husband_n and_o what_o require_v in_o it_o he_o indeed_o and_o effect_v so_o thou_o must_v honour_v he_o in_o word_n therefore_o in_o that_o same_o place_n it_o be_v say_v that_o sara_n call_v her_o husband_n lord_n yet_o there_o be_v more_o than_o all_o this_o there_o be_v fear_n and_o reverence_n in_o the_o heart_n require_v that_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o all_o paul_n ephes_n 5._o 33._o speak_v express_o of_o this_o look_v that_o the_o wife_n fear_n and_o reverence_v her_o husband_n in_o heart_n so_o then_o there_o be_v this_o subjection_n in_o the_o whole_a part_n thereof_o in_o deed_n it_o be_v obedience_n in_o word_n it_o be_v honour_v of_o he_o in_o heart_n it_o be_v fear_n and_o reverence_n note_n note_n so_o that_o wife_n which_o will_v be_v subject_a to_o her_o husband_n must_v keep_v these_o three_o point_n or_o else_o she_o fail_v in_o subjection_n come_v to_o the_o second_o to_o who_o this_o subjection_n ought_v to_o be_v give_v not_o to_o every_o one_o not_o command_v to_o do_v this_o duty_n to_o every_o man_n but_o to_o their_o own_o husband_n if_o you_o will_v mark_v the_o word_n narrow_o you_o shall_v perceive_v there_o lurk_v a_o argument_n in_o they_o the_o argument_n be_v take_v from_o their_o property_n they_o be_v your_o proper_a good_n thou_o have_v nothing_o so_o proper_a as_o thy_o husband_n and_o therefore_o see_v thy_o husband_n be_v thy_o proper_a good_a shall_v thou_o not_o do_v a_o duty_n to_o thy_o husband_n but_o i_o leave_v this_o and_o i_o come_v to_o the_o manner_n the_o manner_n of_o this_o subjection_n be_v bound_v in_o the_o lord_n the_o lord_n jesus_n must_v be_v the_o rule_n of_o it_o but_o to_o consider_v the_o word_n wife_n be_v subject_a to_o your_o husband_n in_o the_o lord_n subjection_n the_o manner_n of_o the_o subjection_n in_o these_o two_o respect_n first_o when_o you_o be_v subject_a to_o your_o husband_n be_v first_o subject_n to_o jesus_n christ_n obey_v he_o honour_v he_o there_o be_v the_o king_n do_v his_o duty_n he_o will_v stone_n thou_o for_o thy_o blasphemy_n these_o be_v the_o two_o vice_n in_o service_n and_o obedience_n then_o come_v the_o three_o point_n the_o virtue_n that_o they_o it_o be_v reserve_v to_o my_o lord_n now_o to_o come_v to_o the_o second_o part_n the_o description_n of_o this_o obedience_n wherein_o the_o apostle_n insist_o obey_v they_o that_o be_v your_o master_n according_a to_o the_o flesh_n in_o all_o thing_n not_o in_o some_o thing_n according_a to_o your_o appetite_n but_o in_o all_o thing_n according_a to_o their_o will_n and_o command_v then_o will_v you_o say_v shall_v we_o obey_v they_o in_o all_o thing_n ungodly_a unhonest_a unlawful_a and_o forbid_v by_o the_o absolute_a power_n of_o god_n i_o answer_v the_o word_n before_o immediate_o bound_v your_o obedience_n as_o their_o dominion_n be_v bound_v so_o be_v your_o obedience_n towards_o they_o bound_v so_o that_o if_o limit_v obedience_n of_o servant_n limit_v with_o their_o eye_n service_n the_o lord_n compare_v these_o servant_n to_o reprobate_n what_o do_v they_o as_o soon_o as_o their_o master_n be_v absent_a they_o will_v begin_v to_o strike_v their_o fellow_n labourer_n and_o what_o more_o they_o will_v sit_v down_o and_o drink_v and_o be_v drunken_a what_o will_v the_o lord_n do_v when_o he_o come_v he_o will_v cut_v they_o off_o and_o give_v they_o pleaser_n they_o that_o do_v such_o service_n be_v pleaser_n of_o man_n that_o be_v they_o be_v flatterer_n study_v to_o please_v man_n when_o their_o heart_n will_v be_v far_o from_o they_o well_o he_o or_o she_o who_o set_v not_o their_o heart_n to_o please_v god_n but_o seek_v first_o of_o all_o to_o please_v the_o eye_n of_o man_n shall_v never_o be_v a_o faithful_a servant_n to_o man_n the_o apostle_n know_v how_o slack_a the_o justice_n be_v to_o revenge_v the_o cause_n of_o servant_n and_o therefore_o he_o promise_v no_o amends_n at_o their_o hand_n but_o at_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o lord_n so_o now_o speak_v of_o revenge_n he_o promise_v it_o not_o to_o come_v of_o the_o magistrate_n but_o from_o the_o lord_n for_o he_o know_v the_o lord_n will_v not_o beguile_v he_o you_o may_v then_o see_v he_o have_v trust_v much_o to_o god_n and_o depend_v on_o he_o he_o promise_v much_o in_o his_o name_n what_o will_v thou_o have_v a_o reward_n a_o revenge_n the_o apostle_n promise_v both_o to_o thou_o but_o at_o the_o lord_n hand_n the_o lesson_n than_o be_v the_o man_n that_o know_v god_n well_o and_o be_v well_o acquaint_v with_o his_o mercy_n with_o his_o justice_n with_o his_o power_n and_o his_o wisdom_n it_o be_v wonderful_a what_o he_o will_v promise_v in_o his_o name_n flesh_n and_o blood_n scarce_o will_v believe_v it_o note_n note_n again_o a_o poor_a body_n and_o one_o oppress_v one_o that_o know_v not_o this_o when_o he_o hear_v of_o this_o it_o be_v wonderful_a how_o he_o will_v swallow_v up_o these_o promise_n nay_o thou_o never_o do_v eat_v meat_n with_o such_o pleasure_n as_o this_o poor_a one_o will_v swallow_v they_o up_o and_o i_o say_v a_o pastor_n shall_v not_o promise_v aught_o of_o god_n except_o he_o know_v he_o &_o thou_o as_o thou_o will_v see_v he_o when_o thou_o shall_v appear_v before_o his_o judgement_n and_o there_o be_v none_o of_o we_o but_o even_o now_o we_o be_v before_o his_o tribunal_n howbeit_o we_o see_v burden_n conscience_n a_o dead_a conscience_n of_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n why_o we_o account_v not_o of_o this_o blood_n of_o jesus_n now_o brethren_n there_o be_v a_o place_n in_o the_o sixth_o chapter_n to_o the_o ephesian_n i_o will_v compare_v with_o this_o place_n recommend_v the_o duty_n of_o master_n in_o the_o nine_o verse_n he_o use_v the_o same_o argument_n that_o be_v here_o he_o comfortable_a and_o terrible_a yes_o then_o mark_v the_o lesson_n that_o that_o be_v in_o god_n terrible_a to_o the_o proud_a and_o oppressor_n in_o the_o world_n the_o same_o thing_n to_o the_o poor_a oppress_v once_o that_o be_v god_n it_o be_v so_o sweet_a and_o comfortable_a as_o no_o tongue_n can_v tell_v the_o fiery_a wrath_n of_o god_n that_o will_v terrify_v the_o king_n of_o the_o world_n and_o which_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o look_v on_o will_v be_v so_o comfortable_a as_o no_o tongue_n can_v tell_v to_o the_o poor_a silly_a body_n that_o he_o will_v creep_v in_o under_o it_o and_o lurk_v there_o yea_o he_o will_v seek_v to_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n to_o save_v he_o from_o the_o wrath_n of_o the_o tyrant_n of_o the_o world_n so_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o god_n but_o be_v comfortable_a to_o his_o child_n as_o by_o the_o contrary_a there_o be_v nothing_o in_o he_o but_o the_o wicked_a abhor_v it_o yea_o even_o his_o mercy_n yea_o they_o will_v run_v if_o it_o be_v forth_o of_o the_o world_n to_o be_v out_o of_o his_o sight_n but_o they_o shall_v not_o escape_v 22_o job._n 21._o 22_o his_o curse_n so_o then_o acquaint_v you_o with_o god_n and_o clothe_v you_o with_o that_o garment_n that_o he_o may_v be_v comfortable_a every_o way_n to_o you_o this_o much_o for_o the_o duty_n of_o servant_n now_o we_o come_v to_o the_o duty_n of_o master_n which_o
