in_o superiority_n that_o we_o may_v live_v a_o peaceable_a and_o quiet_a life_n with_o all_o godliness_n and_o honesty_n neither_o let_v any_o man_n here_o deceive_v himself_o for_o since_o the_o magistrate_n can_v be_v resist_v but_o that_o god_n must_v also_o be_v resist_v although_o it_o may_v be_v think_v that_o a_o unarmed_a magistrate_n may_v free_o be_v despise_v yet_o god_n be_v arm_v which_o will_v strong_o take_v vengeance_n on_o the_o despise_n of_o himself_o moreover_o under_o this_o obedience_n i_o contain_v moderation_n which_o private_a man_n ought_v to_o bind_v themselves_o to_o keep_v in_o case_n touch_v the_o public_a state_n that_o they_o do_v not_o of_o their_o own_o head_n intermeddle_v in_o public_a business_n or_o rash_o break_v into_o the_o office_n of_o the_o their_o hand_n to_o the_o do_v of_o it_o which_o they_o all_o ought_v to_o have_v fast_o bind_v in_o this_o behalf_n but_o let_v they_o commit_v it_o to_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o magistrate_n the_o keeper_n of_o peace_n the_o protector_n of_o righteousness_n the_o revenger_n of_o innocence_n he_o be_v worthy_o to_o be_v judge_v a_o mad_a man_n that_o allow_v of_o such_o a_o government_n but_o when_o as_o this_o be_v in_o a_o manner_n the_o experience_n of_o all_o age_n that_o of_o prince_n some_o be_v careless_a of_o all_o thing_n to_o the_o foresee_v whereof_o they_o ought_v to_o have_v be_v heedful_o bend_v do_v without_o all_o care_n slothful_o wallow_v in_o delight_n other_o some_o addict_v to_o their_o gain_n do_v set_v out_o to_o sale_n all_o law_n privilege_n judgement_n and_o grant_v other_o some_o spoil_n the_o poor_a communality_n of_o money_n which_o they_o may_v after_o waste_v upon_o mad_a prodigal_a expending_n other_o some_o exercise_n mere_a robbery_n in_o pillidge_n of_o house_n defile_v of_o virgin_n and_o matron_n murder_v of_o innocent_n many_o can_v be_v persuade_v that_o such_o shall_v be_v acknowledge_v for_o prince_n who_o authority_n they_o ought_v to_o obey_v so_o far_o as_o they_o may_v for_o in_o so_o great_a heinous_a unworthiness_n among_o do_n so_o much_o contrary_n to_o the_o duty_n not_o only_o for_o a_o magistrate_n but_o also_o of_o a_o man_n they_o behold_v no_o form_n of_o the_o image_n of_o god_n which_o ought_v to_o shine_v in_o a_o magistrate_n when_o they_o see_v no_o token_n of_o that_o minister_n of_o god_n which_o be_v give_v for_o praise_n to_o the_o good_a and_o for_o vengeance_n to_o the_o evil_a so_o neither_o do_v they_o also_o acknowledge_v such_o a_o governor_n who_o dignity_n and_o authority_n the_o scripture_n commend_v unto_o we_o and_o true_o this_o feel_n of_o affection_n have_v always_o be_v natural_o plant_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n no_o less_o to_o hate_v and_o abhor_v tyrant_n then_o to_o love_n and_o honour_v lawful_a king_n sect._n 25._o but_o if_o we_o look_v to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n it_o will_v lead_v we_o far_o that_o we_o be_v subject_a not_o only_o to_o the_o government_n of_o those_o prince_n which_o execute_v their_o office_n towards_o we_o well_o and_o with_o such_o faithfulness_n as_o they_o ought_v but_o also_o of_o all_o they_o which_o by_o what_o mean_v soever_o it_o be_v have_v the_o dominion_n in_o possession_n although_o they_o perform_v nothing_o less_o than_o that_o which_o pertain_v to_o the_o duty_n of_o prince_n for_o though_o the_o lord_n testify_v that_o the_o magistrate_n be_v a_o special_a great_a gift_n of_o his_o liberality_n for_o preserve_v the_o safety_n of_o man_n and_o appoint_v to_o magistrate_n themselves_o their_o bound_n yet_o he_o do_v therewithal_o declare_v that_o of_o what_o sort_n soever_o they_o be_v they_o have_v not_o their_o authority_n but_o from_o he_o that_o those_o indeed_o which_o rule_n for_o benefit_n of_o the_o commonweal_n be_v true_a examplar_n and_o pattern_n of_o his_o bountifulness_n that_o they_o that_o rule_v unjust_o and_o wilful_o be_v raise_v up_o by_o he_o to_o punish_v the_o wickedness_n of_o the_o people_n that_o all_o legal_o have_v that_o majesty_n wherewith_o he_o have_v furnish_v a_o lawful_a power_n i_o will_v proceed_v no_o further_o till_o i_o have_v add_v some_o certain_a testimony_n of_o that_o point_n yet_o we_o need_v not_o much_o to_o labour_v to_o prove_v that_o a_o wicked_a king_n be_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o earth_n forasmuch_o as_o i_o think_v that_o no_o man_n will_v say_v the_o contrary_a and_o otherwise_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o more_o say_v of_o a_o king_n then_o of_o a_o common_a robber_n that_o violent_o take_v away_o thy_o good_n and_o of_o a_o adulterer_n that_o defile_v thy_o bed_n of_o a_o murderer_n that_o seek_v to_o kill_v thou_o when_o as_o the_o scripture_n reckon_v all_o such_o calamity_n among_o the_o curse_n of_o god_n but_o let_v we_o rather_o tarry_v upon_o prove_v that_o which_o do_v not_o so_o easy_o settle_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n that_o in_o a_o most_o naughty_a man_n and_o most_o unworthy_a of_o all_o honour_n if_o so_o that_o he_o have_v the_o public_a power_n in_o possession_n
