come_v to_o destroy_v but_o rather_o to_o fulfil_v the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n we_o can_v in_o reason_n deem_v ourselves_o oblige_v to_o set_v apart_o less_o for_o the_o poor_a than_o the_o thirty_o part_n of_o our_o yearly_a income_n last_o as_o consideration_n ought_v general_o to_o be_v have_v of_o our_o ability_n and_o of_o those_o measure_n which_o god_n have_v give_v we_o to_o judge_v both_o of_o that_o and_o our_o own_o duty_n by_o so_o i_o see_v not_o how_o we_o can_v sometime_o avoid_v the_o give_v even_o beyond_o our_o ability_n if_o we_o mean_v thereby_o a_o ability_n to_o provide_v for_o ourselves_o according_a to_o that_o state_n and_o condition_n wherein_o god_n have_v place_v we_o and_o not_o a_o ability_n to_o serve_v our_o own_o necessity_n for_o as_o we_o find_v that_o s._n paul_n who_o do_v general_o refer_v man_n to_o their_o ability_n yet_o mention_n it_o with_o commendation_n that_o the_o corinthian_n who_o he_o write_v to_o give_v not_o only_o according_a to_o their_o ability_n but_o above_o it_o 2_o cor._n 8.3_o so_o i_o see_v not_o how_o we_o can_v avoid_v the_o abate_n of_o our_o own_o enjoyment_n where_o the_o necessity_n of_o those_o that_o be_v about_o we_o can_v be_v otherwise_o in_o any_o tolerable_a measure_n supply_v he_o who_o give_v the_o earth_n for_o the_o support_n of_o all_o consequent_o oblige_v those_o who_o be_v to_o who_o we_o give_v be_v not_o only_o of_o our_o own_o blood_n and_o the_o same_o common_a stock_n but_o under_o the_o particular_a care_n of_o and_o relation_n to_o god_n and_o christ_n and_o that_o too_o in_o such_o a_o proportion_n that_o what_o be_v do_v or_o not_o do_v unto_o they_o he_o interprete_v as_o either_o do_v or_o not_o do_v unto_o himself_o but_o neither_o second_o be_v we_o to_o give_v with_o grudge_v and_o repine_v as_o it_o be_v but_o too_o frequent_a with_o those_o who_o be_v not_o otherwise_o peccant_a as_o because_o god_n to_o who_o we_o be_v oblige_v for_o be_v in_o a_o capacity_n of_o give_v profess_v to_o love_v 9.7_o love_v 2_o cor._n 9.7_o a_o cheerful_a giver_n and_o shall_v not_o therefore_o be_v so_o ill_o requite_v as_o to_o find_v a_o grudge_a one_o so_o because_o as_o have_v be_v often_o say_v but_o can_v never_o be_v too_o much_o repeat_v that_o charity_n be_v no_o more_o than_o be_v due_a to_o the_o poor_a from_o we_o for_o what_o place_n can_v there_o be_v for_o grudge_v where_o that_o which_o we_o be_v to_o give_v be_v but_o the_o right_n of_o those_o to_o who_o we_o be_v require_v to_o impart_v it_o three_o as_o we_o ought_v to_o discard_v from_o our_o give_v all_o superciliousness_n and_o grudge_a so_o also_o all_o slowness_n in_o the_o do_n of_o it_o not_o only_a solomon_n so_o require_v where_o he_o forbid_v we_o to_o say_v to_o the_o necessitous_a person_n go_v and_o come_v again_o and_o to_o morrow_n i_o will_v give_v when_o we_o have_v it_o by_o we_o but_o also_o the_o design_n and_o end_n of_o charity_n the_o defer_v of_o a_o benefit_n make_v it_o of_o little_a use_n to_o he_o that_o crave_v it_o and_o sometime_o also_o of_o none_o at_o all_o i_o will_v conclude_v this_o head_n and_o my_o discourse_n concern_v the_o liberality_n of_o give_v with_o admonish_v in_o the_o four_o place_n that_o it_o be_v do_v secret_o and_o so_o as_o our_o saviour_n speak_v that_o the_o left_a hand_n may_v not_o know_v what_o our_o right_a hand_n do_v lest_o that_o which_o be_v intend_v for_o a_o benefit_n to_o our_o neighbour_n prove_v a_o exprobration_n to_o he_o either_o of_o his_o necessity_n or_o obligation_n to_o we_o and_o to_o ourselves_o a_o temptation_n to_o pride_n and_o vanity_n which_o as_o it_o be_v enough_o to_o sour_a the_o most_o excellent_a charity_n and_o make_v it_o disgustful_a both_o to_o god_n
