by_o his_o bounty_n and_o good_a will_v therefore_o deut_n 26._o as_o there_o be_v a_o command_n for_o pay_v tithe_n and_o bring_v the_o first_o fruit_n as_o a_o offering_n unto_o the_o house_n of_o the_o lord_n so_o there_o be_v set_v down_o the_o particular_a confession_n to_o be_v make_v at_o these_o offering_n in_o which_o be_v show_v the_o reason_n for_o require_v they_o viz_o that_o even_o god_n the_o first_o fruit_n of_o our_o increase_n and_o what_o be_v due_a out_o of_o our_o substance_n do_v not_o much_o concern_v we_o but_o though_o the_o ceremonial_a part_n of_o this_o precept_n be_v not_o now_o obligatorie_n yet_o the_o moral_a thereof_o be_v for_o christ_n have_v not_o take_v away_o our_o obligation_n to_o these_o moral_a observance_n which_o the_o honour_n of_o god_n call_v for_o think_v not_o say_v he_o that_o i_o be_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n or_o the_o prophet_n i_o be_o not_o come_v to_o destroy_v but_o to_o fulfil_v matth._n 5._o 17._o there_o be_v not_o indeed_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n such_o frequent_a and_o particular_a mention_n of_o make_v these_o offering_n by_o way_n of_o tribute_n unto_o god_n because_o there_o we_o be_v not_o consider_v as_o in_o a_o servile_a state_n by_o the_o gospel_n god_n have_v exalt_v we_o to_o the_o noble_a state_n of_o friend_n and_o child_n and_o deal_v with_o we_o as_o such_o which_o yet_o do_v not_o take_v away_o our_o obligation_n from_o pay_v necessary_a duty_n whereof_o the_o thing_n we_o be_v now_o speak_v about_o be_v one_o and_o though_o as_o we_o have_v say_v the_o devote_v some_o portion_n of_o our_o good_n be_v not_o now_o call_v so_o by_o way_n of_o tribute_n as_o from_o servant_n or_o subject_n yet_o the_o thing_n itself_o be_v very_o often_o enjoin_v and_o inculcate_v viz._n of_o alm_n give_v beneficencie_n and_o work_v of_o charity_n &_o mercy_n &_o though_o the_o phrase_n of_o give_v alm_n be_v general_o use_v yet_o it_o be_v so_o speak_v of_o as_o to_o let_v we_o understand_v that_o it_o be_v a_o debt_n due_a unto_o god_n which_o we_o be_v unjust_a if_o we_o do_v not_o pay_v for_o it_o be_v usual_o style_v justice_n or_o righteousness_n as_o mat._n 25._o we_o must_v not_o think_v that_o god_n have_v now_o under_o the_o gospel_n quit_v his_o right_n and_o tittle_n to_o our_o good_n and_o possession_n or_o that_o he_o do_v not_o require_v any_o acknowledgement_n of_o they_o from_o we_o we_o be_v much_o mistake_v if_o we_o think_v so_o he_o require_v this_o now_o as_o much_o as_o ever_o and_o therefore_o to_o this_o end_n it_o
