church-communion_n be_v still_o style_v saint_n in_o the_o inscription_n of_o the_o epistle_n send_v they_o they_o receive_v that_o denomination_n from_o that_o which_o be_v the_o ground_n and_o reason_n of_o their_o communion_n see_v rom_n 1.7_o 1_o cor_n 1.2_o ephes_n 1.1_o phil_n 1.1_o col_fw-fr 1.1_o the_o reason_n therefore_o why_o they_o admit_v baptize_v and_o only_o baptize_v to_o it_o be_v now_o in_o like_a case_n where_o the_o want_n of_o a_o regular_a baptism_n now_o be_v as_o much_o a_o argument_n of_o no_o grace_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o primitive_a time_n there_o it_o be_v as_o much_o a_o argument_n of_o non-communion_n with_o such_o person_n now_o as_o then_o but_o where_o the_o want_n of_o any_o thing_n which_o belong_v to_o a_o regular_a baptism_n be_v no_o argument_n of_o non-saintship_a there_o i_o think_v it_o can_v be_v no_o argument_n of_o non-communion_n with_o saint_n they_o have_v that_o upon_o which_o the_o communion_n of_o saint_n be_v sound_v to_o wit_n saintship_n must_v needs_o have_v a_o right_n to_o the_o communion_n itself_o if_o baptism_n in_o the_o primitive_a time_n be_v a_o reason_n subordinate_o of_o communion_n as_o it_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o saintship_n then_o by_o the_o rule_n of_o contrary_n the_o want_n of_o it_o can_v be_v no_o argument_n against_o communion_n but_o as_o such_o a_o want_n be_v a_o argument_n of_o non-saintship_a of_o this_o more_o afterward_o but_o most_o certain_a it_o be_v that_o the_o want_n of_o regular_a baptism_n which_o be_v lay_v to_o the_o pedobaptist_n charge_n be_v no_o argument_n of_o non-saintship_a in_o many_o of_o they_o it_o proceed_v not_o from_o want_n of_o a_o sincere_a love_n to_o christ_n of_o which_o love_n many_o of_o they_o have_v give_v a_o ample_a testimony_n otherwise_o both_o in_o do_v and_o suffer_v for_o he_o but_o mere_o from_o want_n of_o light_n in_o the_o thing_n they_o profess_v and_o i_o believe_v in_o good_a earnest_n that_o if_o they_o do_v not_o believe_v they_o be_v baptize_v already_o it_o shall_v be_v one_o of_o the_o first_o thing_n they_o will_v seek_v opportunity_n to_o do_v to_o become_v baptize_v you_o see_v then_o upon_o what_o ground_n the_o primitive_a practice_n of_o hold_v communion_n with_o none_o but_o baptize_v disciple_n be_v not_o bind_v to_o we_o but_o in_o like_a case_n but_o what_o ever_o the_o other_o be_v to_o be_v sure_o this_o be_v a_o gospel_n order_n among_o the_o primitive_a saint_n the_o moral_a reason_n whereof_o do_v as_o well_o oblige_v we_o as_o they_o to_o wit_n saint_n hold_v communion_n with_o such_o in_o who_o there_o be_v the_o appearance_n of_o saint_n notwithstanding_o all_o ignorances_n erring_n and_o mistake_v otherwise_o and_o why_o any_o or_o our_o brethren_n shall_v have_v their_o eye_n so_o much_o upon_o that_o other_o piece_n of_o gospel_n order_n and_o overlook_v this_o and_o not_o think_v themselves_o as_o much_o and_o much_o more_o oblige_v by_o this_o than_o that_o especial_o consider_v that_o there_o be_v precept_n upon_o precept_n as_o well_o as_o precedent_n in_o this_o case_n but_o not_o so_o in_o the_o other_o i_o be_o sure_a i_o not_o to_o say_v they_o can_v give_v no_o good_a reason_n but_o of_o this_o more_o afterward_o five_o argument_n for_o separation_n come_v out_o thus_o if_o baptism_n bear_v the_o same_o relation_n to_o the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o circumcision_n do_v to_o the_o passeover_n than_o not_o unbaptise_v person_n may_v be_v admit_v to_o the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n because_o none_o uncircumcised_a may_v be_v admit_v to_o the_o passeover_n but_o baptism_n do_v bear_v the_o same_o relation_n to_o the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o circumcision_n do_v to_o the_o passeover_n therefore_o answ_n i_o shall_v not_o insist_v upon_o the_o undermine_a the_o basis_n of_o this_o proposition_n by_o assert_v that_o circumcision_n be_v not_o in_o all_o case_n absolute_o previous_o necessary_a to_o communion_n in_o the_o passeover_n as_o in_o the_o case_n of_o woman_n who_o be_v communicant_n in_o that_o ordinance_n though_o not_o circumcise_v and_o likewise_o in_o the_o case_n of_o near_o forty_o year_n intermission_n of_o circumcision_n in_o the_o wilderness_n in_o which_o time_n there_o be_v one_o passeover_n to_o be_v sure_a if_o not_o many_o more_o for_o i_o have_v that_o which_o will_v be_v more_o satisfactory_a than_o this_o i_o shall_v therefore_o deny_v the_o minor_a proposition_n baptism_n do_v not_o bear_v the_o same_o relation_n to_o the_o lord_n supper_n as_o circumcision_n do_v to_o the_o passeover_n that_o relation_n which_o circumcision_n do_v bear_v to_o the_o passeover_n as_o to_o make_v the_o former_a a_o necessary_a qualification_n in_o a_o person_n for_o the_o though_o baptism_n be_v enjoin_v to_o be_v receive_v in_o its_o proper_a place_n and_o season_n yet_o all_o other_o after_o duty_n of_o christianity_n be_v not_o forbid_v in_o case_n the_o other_o shall_v unknowing_o or_o for_o want_n of_o a_o natural_a or_o moral_a opportunity_n be_v defer_v or_o omit_v if_o a_o man_n omit_v one_o previous_a duty_n as_o not_o know_v it_o to_o be_v his_o duty_n the_o reason_n of_o the_o want_n of_o such_o baptism_n be_v the_o want_n of_o opportunity_n to_o enjoy_v it_o the_o truth_n whereof_o appear_v by_o this_o undeniable_a reason_n baptism_n be_v no_o more_o necessary_a to_o church-communion_n than_o it_o be_v to_o salvation_n for_o how_o can_v the_o mean_n be_v more_o necessary_a to_o the_o subordinate_a than_o it_o be_v to_o the_o principal_a end_n if_o baptism_n be_v necessary_a to_o church-communion_n it_o be_v because_o church-communion_n be_v respective_o necessary_a to_o salvation_n for_o neither_o of_o they_o will_v be_v necessary_a if_o no_o such_o thing_n be_v as_o salvation_n be_v to_o which_o they_o both_o relate_v but_o now_o baptism_n be_v necessary_a to_o salvation_n but_o by_o way_n of_o duty_n when_o opportunity_n occur_v but_o be_v not_o necessary_a by_o way_n of_o mean_n so_o as_o without_o which_o salvation_n be_v not_o to_o be_v have_v when_o opportunity_n of_o do_v one_o duty_n in_o this_o kind_n be_v want_v this_o be_v our_o constant_a protestant_n doctrine_n against_o the_o too_o much_o rigidity_n of_o popish_a necessity_n and_o therefore_o if_o baptism_n be_v necessary_a to_o salvation_n but_o upon_o such_o term_n then_o sure_o it_o can_v be_v necessary_a to_o church-communion_n upon_o high_a or_o more_o strict_a term_n if_o any_o thing_n may_v be_v remit_v in_o the_o strictness_n of_o the_o term_n of_o necessity_n it_o will_v rather_o be_v as_o it_o relate_v to_o its_o less_o principal_a than_o principal_a end_n but_o now_o that_o the_o true_a reason_n why_o the_o godly_a pedobaptist_n be_v not_o baptize_v after_o faith_n be_v the_o want_n of_o a_o moral_a opportunity_n be_v a_o thing_n not_o to_o be_v doubt_v for_o all_o the_o while_o they_o remain_v unconvince_v that_o it_o be_v their_o duty_n or_o so_o much_o as_o lawful_a for_o they_o to_o be_v so_o baptize_v so_o long_o they_o be_v clear_o under_o the_o want_n of_o a_o moral_a opportunity_n of_o receive_v such_o a_o baptism_n for_o they_o can_v no_o more_o lawful_o be_v so_o baptize_v during_o the_o time_n of_o such_o dissatisfaction_n than_o other_o can_v who_o be_v satisfy_v whilst_o they_o want_v the_o opportunity_n of_o health_n water_n or_o a_o meet_a administrator_n it_o be_v as_o much_o the_o israelite_n duty_n to_o be_v circumcise_v before_o their_o admission_n to_o communion_n in_o any_o part_n of_o congregationall_a worship_n the_o time_n prescribe_v for_o circumcision_n consider_v as_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o believer_n to_o be_v baptize_v before_o admission_n to_o church_n communion_n yea_o the_o law_n be_v more_o express_a in_o that_o point_n then_o the_o gospel_n be_v in_o this_o and_o yet_o for_o want_v of_o opportunity_n of_o perform_v the_o one_o the_o other_o be_v enjoy_v without_o it_o for_o a_o certain_a season_n in_o the_o wilderness_n the_o want_n then_o of_o a_o moral_a opportunity_n of_o do_v that_o which_o in_o order_n of_o nature_n shall_v go_v before_o be_v not_o a_o bar_n against_o the_o do_n of_o all_o hat_n which_o according_a to_o common_a order_n shall_v follow_v after_o for_o than_o it_o will_v as_o well_o be_v unlawful_a for_o the_o godly_a pedobaptist_n to_o proceed_v in_o a_o long_a continue_a course_n of_o hear_v pray_v etc._n etc._n for_o their_o edification_n in_o the_o grace_n they_o have_v receive_v as_o it_o will_v be_v for_o they_o to_o break_v bread_n in_o remembrance_n of_o the_o lord_n death_n because_o their_o baptism_n after_o faith_n aught_o as_o well_o to_o precede_v the_o one_o as_o the_o other_o but_o sure_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o any_o tender_a christian_a to_o suspend_v they_o the_o exercise_n of_o these_o until_o they_o be_v satisfy_v touch_v the_o other_o and_o i_o query_n by_o what_o law_n or_o rule_n they_o come_v under_o suspension_n any_o more_o in_o the_o one_o then_o in_o the_o other_o their_o suppose_a sin_n then_o lie_v not_o in_o this_o that_o they_o break_v bread_n and_o perform_v other_o christian_a duty_n before_o they_o be_v baptize_v but_o in_o this_o that_o they_o omit_v baptism_n after_o the_o proper_a season_n of_o it_o and_o it_o do_v not_o follow_v that_o communion_n may_v not_o be_v hold_v with_o they_o in_o that_o which_o be_v lawful_a yea_o their_o duty_n because_o it_o may_v not_o be_v hold_v with_o they_o in_o that_o which_o be_v their_o suppose_a weakness_n in_o omit_v a_o duty_n a_o consent_n in_o the_o one_o and_o a_o declare_a disapprobation_n of_o the_o other_o may_v well_o consist_v 2._o to_o the_o objection_n which_o suppose_v internal_a union_n with_o the_o church_n to_o give_v only_o a_o remote_a right_n to_o church-communion_n but_o baptism_n the_o immediate_a right_n i_o further_o answer_v thus_o baptism_n do_v not_o of_o itself_o constitute_v a_o right_n to_o church-communion_n but_o be_v declarative_n of_o that_o which_o do_v it_o be_v the_o union_n by_o grace_n which_o constitute_v a_o man_n right_a when_o make_v visible_a and_o not_o baptism_n otherwise_o then_o as_o it_o be_v declarative_a of_o this_o that_o this_o be_v so_o appear_v thus_o when_o such_o a_o heresy_n or_o scandalous_a life_n do_v occur_v a_o man_n that_o have_v be_v baptize_v as_o do_v total_o obscure_v the_o grace_n of_o union_n or_o declare_v the_o nonbeing_a of_o it_o his_o baptism_n can_v protect_v he_o from_o be_v cut_v off_o communion_n can_v give_v a_o man_n right_n in_o the_o absence_n of_o visible_a grace_n why_o shall_v the_o involuntary_a want_n of_o it_o deprive_v he_o of_o it_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o visible_a grace_n it_o they_o be_v call_v as_o consist_v of_o outward_a sign_n and_o inward_a grace_n the_o letter_n of_o the_o ordinance_n as_o to_o this_o use_n of_o it_o be_v but_o the_o sign_n of_o the_o spiritual_a union_n and_o communion_n which_o by_o it_o be_v profess_o declare_v to_o be_v between_o he_o that_o be_v baptize_v and_o the_o rest_n of_o christ_n body_n so_o that_o man_n actual_a real_a and_o spiritual_a union_n and_o membership_n with_o christ_n and_o so_o with_o the_o church_n which_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o communion_n be_v suppose_v and_o ought_v to_o precede_v the_o solemnisation_n of_o it_o by_o way_n of_o sign_n the_o sign_n to_o wit_n baptism_n with_o water_n delivers_z the_o baptize_v into_o the_o visible_a union_n and_o communion_n of_o the_o church_n by_o point_v to_o and_o declare_v their_o inward_a and_o spiritual_a union_n and_o communion_n with_o it_o as_o that_o which_o give_v they_o right_o to_o outward_a and_o visible_a communion_n if_o then_o the_o grace_n of_o spiritual_a union_n which_o fundamental_o give_v a_o man_n right_n to_o church-communion_n may_v be_v evidence_v and_o declare_v by_o other_o mean_n without_o regular_a baptism_n though_o its_o every_o christian_n duty_n to_o have_v his_o baptism_n concur_v in_o such_o declaration_n when_o he_o have_v opportunity_n so_o to_o do_v it_o will_v not_o follow_v then_o that_o the_o want_n of_o
