fruit_n of_o original_a sin_n and_o of_o the_o corruption_n that_o be_v in_o myself_o and_o the_o wife_n also_o on_o her_o side_n must_v think_v good_a reason_n it_o be_v that_o i_o shall_v receive_v the_o payment_n that_o come_v of_o my_o disobedience_n towards_o god_n for_o that_o i_o hold_v not_o myself_o in_o his_o awe_n thus_o much_o concern_v the_o word_n subjection_n which_o be_v set_v down_o here_o now_o saint_n paul_n in_o say_v as_o too_o the_o lord_n mean_v not_o too_o make_v man_n equal_a with_o god_n or_o with_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n for_o that_o be_v too_o great_a a_o oversight_n but_o he_o show_v that_o the_o fear_n and_o reverence_n which_o a_o woman_n ought_v too_o bear_v unto_o god_n and_o the_o subjection_n which_o she_o owe_v too_o her_o husband_n be_v two_o thing_n that_o can_v be_v put_v asunder_o like_v as_o when_o he_o exhort_v we_o erst_o too_o link_v together_o in_o mutual_a subjection_n 21._o he_o add_v this_o say_n in_o the_o fear_n of_o god._n other_o thing_n with_o she_o at_o home_n in_o her_o own_o house_n therein_o she_o show_v herself_o not_o too_o have_v one_o spark_n of_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n forasmuch_o as_o she_o do_v so_o hold_v scorn_n of_o her_o husband_n who_o be_v her_o head_n and_o as_o it_o be_v god_n lieutenant_n in_o that_o behalf_n therefore_o let_v we_o mark_v that_o saint_n paul_n have_v not_o set_v down_o this_o similitude_n too_o match_v husband_n who_o be_v mortal_a creature_n yea_o &_o very_a worm_n of_o the_o earth_n in_o equal_a degree_n with_o jesus_n christ_n but_o too_o show_v brief_o that_o have_v my_o head_n under_o his_o girdle_n yea_o but_o the_o wife_n that_o do_v so_o sheweth_z that_o she_o be_v loath_a that_o god_n shall_v have_v any_o authority_n over_o she_o and_o will_v fain_o put_v god_n law_n under_o her_o foot_n howbeit_o forasmuch_o as_o there_o be_v none_o other_o shift_n but_o woman_n must_v needs_o stoop_v and_o understand_v that_o the_o ruin_n and_o confusion_n of_o have_v as_o many_o impediment_n as_o may_v be_v the_o devil_n will_v not_o cease_v too_o seek_v all_o mean_n possible_a too_o thrust_v we_o out_o of_o the_o way_n and_o we_o shall_v have_v store_n of_o oppression_n and_o vexation_n for_o he_o have_v slyghte_n enough_o and_o too_o many_o and_o beside_o that_o he_o assail_v we_o now_o after_o one_o manner_n and_o now_o after_o another_o and_o we_o have_v not_o wherewith_o too_o resist_v he_o therefore_o it_o behove_v we_o too_o get_v strength_n too_o us._n howbeit_o he_o say_v in_o the_o lord_n least_o man_n shall_v imagine_v themselves_o be_v not_o so_o nice_a we_o must_v mark_v first_o of_o all_o that_o if_o we_o will_v serve_v god_n we_o must_v enforce_v ourselves_o and_o that_o be_v as_o much_o to_o say_v as_o we_o must_v fight_v against_o the_o devil_n for_o as_o i_o say_v afore_o he_o be_v not_o idle_a neither_o will_v he_o suffer_v any_o of_o we_o to_o do_v our_o duty_n with_o such_o ease_n as_o though_o we_o do_v but_o walk_v up_o and_o down_o in_o some_o foyre_n place_n but_o he_o will_v set_v thorn_n and_o cast_v log_n in_o our_o way_n too_o stop_v we_o again_o he_o will_v give_v such_o gird_n at_o we_o as_o shall_v be_v enough_o too_o overthrow_v we_o a_o hundred_o time_n before_o we_o can_v step_v one_o pace_n unless_o god_n aid_v we_o forasmuch_o therefore_o as_o we_o can_v walk_v in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n without_o fight_a we_o ought_v too_o bear_v saint_n paul_n warning_n in_o mind_n furthermore_o he_o intend_v also_o too_o make_v we_o perceive_v our_o own_o weakness_n for_o we_o know_v that_o man_n do_v bear_v much_o with_o themselves_o and_o seek_v nothing_o but_o too_o welter_v in_o their_o pleasure_n also_o there_o be_v which_o presume_v upon_o their_o own_o strength_n &_o bear_v import_v that_o we_o be_v weak_a by_o nature_n and_o afterward_o he_o express_v himself_o yet_o better_a in_o say_v that_o it_o be_v in_o the_o lord_n that_o we_o must_v be_v strong_a and_o that_o he_o have_v all_o power_n in_o he_o too_o give_v thereof_o unto_o we_o as_o much_o as_o need_v then_o if_o we_o enterpryze_v any_o thing_n without_o call_v upon_o he_o we_o shall_v be_v punish_v for_o disposition_n to_o be_v short_a there_o be_v not_o that_o man_n which_o may_v not_o have_v some_o colour_n if_o he_o keep_v not_o the_o faithfulness_n and_o honesty_n of_o marriage_n as_o become_v he_o the_o wife_n also_o for_o her_o part_n shall_v not_o be_v unprovided_a for_o now_o and_o then_o her_o husband_n may_v hap_v too_o be_v testy_a and_o riotous_a and_o too_o have_v small_a regard_n wheretoo_o god_n have_v call_v they_o some_o be_v ill_a husband_n and_o hunter_n of_o tavern_n and_o ale_n house_n or_o else_o play_v the_o unthrift_n in_o game_n and_o light_n behaviour_n some_o be_v whoremonger_n some_o glutton_n and_o some_o drunkard_n and_o so_o every_o woman_n may_v pretend_v some_o excuse_n too_o exempt_v herself_o from_o her_o duty_n but_o when_o we_o come_v too_o god_n we_o must_v be_v fain_o too_o cast_v our_o head_n in_o our_o bozom_n for_o it_o will_v not_o boot_n we_o too_o stand_v check_v against_o he_o although_o the_o man_n misbehave_v themselves_o on_o the_o heart_n needs_o be_v soften_v and_o they_o will_v not_o harden_v themselves_o any_o more_o too_o such_o stubbornness_n as_o they_o do_v but_o they_o will_v submit_v themselves_o too_o the_o yoke_n husband_n shall_v have_v bethink_v himself_o well_o and_o examine_v his_o own_o fault_n thorough_o he_o will_v hold_v his_o peace_n &_o patient_o bear_v with_o his_o wife_n fault_n until_o god_n give_v she_o the_o grace_n too_o amend_v they_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n howsoever_o the_o world_n go_v let_v he_o not_o cease_v too_o play_v the_o good_a husband_n in_o apply_v himself_o too_o tell_v we_o our_o duty_n must_v it_o not_o needs_o be_v that_o we_o be_v worse_a than_o the_o infidel_n and_o much_o more_o grievous_o too_o be_v condemn_v than_o they_o if_o we_o continue_v hard_o harâ—â—d_v or_o stop_v our_o ear_n lest_o we_o may_v receive_v the_o advice_n that_o he_o give_v we_o then_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o that_o see_v saint_n paul_n have_v set_v we_o forth_o our_o lord_n serve_v he_o with_o one_o accord_n even_o until_o they_o be_v so_o far_o forth_o as_o they_o be_v come_v too_o he_o too_o cleave_v too_o he_o thorough_o in_o all_o perfection_n now_o although_o such_o warning_n ought_v too_o be_v of_o great_a force_n among_o we_o yet_o be_v very_o few_o touch_v with_o they_o accord_o and_o the_o world_n see_v it_o for_o let_v a_o man_n look_v into_o all_o household_n one_o after_o another_o and_o where_o shall_v he_o find_v such_o friendship_n as_o may_v resemble_v jesus_n christ_n and_o his_o church_n nowhere_o but_o the_o man_n and_o his_o wife_n the_o husband_n consider_v how_o he_o ought_v too_o bear_v with_o his_o wife_n how_o he_o ought_v too_o guide_v she_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n and_o how_o he_o ought_v too_o love_v she_o as_o a_o helper_n allot_v unto_o he_o for_o his_o ease_n that_o he_o may_v walk_v as_o he_o ought_v too_o do_v nor_o that_o the_o wife_n humble_v herself_o too_o her_o husband_n or_o bend_v her_o wit_n too_o please_v he_o because_o she_o perceive_v that_o she_o be_v express_o give_v unto_o he_o too_o be_v a_o furtherance_n and_o not_o a_o hindrance_n unto_o he_o there_o be_v no_o talk_n nor_o inkling_n may_v see_v that_o this_o perverseness_n reign_v wellnear_o everywhere_o again_o every_o man_n complain_v of_o his_o wife_n say_v i_o can_v live_v with_o she_o it_o be_v a_o mad_a beast_n there_o be_v nothing_o in_o she_o but_o pride_n and_o peevishness_n and_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o she_o but_o froward_a stubbornness_n i_o can_v speak_v a_o word_n too_o she_o but_o she_o pay_v i_o again_o with_o four_o for_o it_o now_o sure_o such_o as_o man_n make_v their_o wife_n such_o have_v they_o of_o they_o for_o be_v there_o no_o more_o but_o this_o that_o i_o speak_v of_o namely_o that_o man_n do_v as_o it_o be_v in_o spite_n of_o god_n maintain_v their_o wife_n wrongful_a quarrel_n ought_v not_o god_n too_o yield_v they_o their_o deserve_a hire_n and_o too_o make_v it_o rebound_v back_o upon_o their_o own_o pate_n whatsoever_o i_o say_v if_o a_o man_n mark_v well_o eâ—ery_a man_n ordinary_a trade_n of_o life_n he_o shall_v find_v that_o there_o may_v be_v a_o sort_n of_o fond_a love_n and_o a_o fort_n of_o excessive_a affection_n but_o as_o for_o well_o order_v friendship_n such_o as_o depend_v upon_o god_n and_o be_v ground_v on_o his_o word_n hardly_o shall_v he_o among_o a_o hundred_o house_n find_v one_o where_o the_o husband_n and_o the_o wife_n be_v so_o well_o qualify_v yet_o notwithstanding_o we_o be_v unexcuzable_a if_o we_o profit_v not_o in_o this_o doctrine_n so_o then_o every_o of_o we_o must_v fight_v against_o his_o unruly_a affection_n &_o if_o a_o man_n have_v not_o such_o a_o wife_n as_o he_o can_v wish_v let_v he_o understand_v that_o god_n intend_v to_o try_v his_o patience_n by_o that_o mean_n and_o let_v he_o consider_v well_o that_o he_o behave_v himself_o worse_a towards_o our_o lord_n
jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v the_o husband_n too_o who_o all_o of_o we_o be_v marry_v and_o therefore_o let_v he_o not_o be_v rigorous_a towards_o his_o wife_n see_v that_o he_o himself_o deserve_v too_o be_v so_o humble_v too_o be_v short_a let_v every_o man_n so_o mind_n this_o doctrine_n that_o when_o the_o husband_n have_v not_o all_o thing_n in_o his_o wife_n that_o he_o desire_v he_o may_v think_v thus_o with_o himself_o yet_o be_o i_o bind_v unto_o she_o yea_o and_o i_o be_o not_o only_o bind_v unto_o my_o wife_n but_o also_o unto_o god_n who_o be_v the_o master_n of_o marriage_n and_o too_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v as_o a_o mirror_n and_o lyvely_a image_n of_o it_o unto_o we_o therefore_o be_o i_o bind_v too_o do_v my_o duty_n towards_o she_o and_o both_o too_o love_v she_o and_o too_o bear_v with_o she_o although_o there_o be_v vice_n in_o she_o yet_o be_v it_o not_o mean_v that_o the_o husband_n shall_v foster_v and_o feed_v his_o wife_n vice_n for_o as_o we_o must_v warn_v and_o counsel_v one_o another_o so_o must_v there_o not_o be_v any_o such_o nearness_n or_o link_a together_o but_o that_o if_o the_o husband_n see_v any_o thing_n amiss_o in_o in_o near_a bond_n as_o i_o have_v say_v afore_o and_o if_o any_o body_n reply_v heereuntoo_o â—ush_o he_o or_o he_o be_v not_o myself_o i_o answer_v then_o must_v it_o needs_o follow_v that_o thou_o possible_a that_o it_o shall_v so_o then_o if_o every_o of_o we_o be_v so_o wed_v to_o his_o own_o profit_n that_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o he_o disdain_n other_o through_o pride_n or_o else_o be_v cruel_a so_o as_o if_o he_o see_v all_o the_o misery_n in_o the_o world_n he_o have_v no_o compassion_n too_o relieve_v they_o nor_o can_v find_v in_o his_o harâ—_n to_o bear_v with_o any_o thing_n wherefore_o let_v we_o learn_v too_o prepare_v ourselves_o in_o such_o wise_n too_o the_o serve_v of_o god_n as_o we_o may_v stand_v obedient_o in_o battle_n ray_n too_o resist_v all_o temptation_n if_o we_o be_v not_o thorough_o persuade_v of_o that_o we_o may_v well_o make_v some_o fair_a countenance_n and_o please_v man_n but_o out_o mind_n shall_v never_o be_v right_a and_o well_o dispose_v
