duty_n at_o 4_o quarterly_a payment_n and_o when_o to_o begin_v or_o any_o two_o of_o they_o shall_v issue_v out_o their_o warrant_n for_o the_o collect_v the_o rate_n and_o assessment_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o personal_a estate_n office_n and_o employment_n and_o also_o of_o the_o pound_n rate_v to_o be_v charge_v upon_o land_n tenement_n and_o other_o the_o premise_n as_o aforesaid_a at_o four_o quarterly_a payment_n the_o first_o to_o be_v on_o the_o 26_o of_o march_n 1694._o or_o within_o twenty_o day_n after_o pay_v into_o their_o majesty_n exchequer_n the_o second_o payment_n by_o the_o 20_o day_n of_o june_n next_o ensue_v or_o within_o twenty_o day_n after_o the_o three_o on_o the_o 20_o day_n of_o september_n next_o ensue_v or_o within_o twenty_o day_n after_o and_o rent_n of_o every_o such_o house_n or_o land_n the_o landlord_n ought_v to_o bear_v and_o all_o landlord_n be_v hereby_o require_v to_o allow_v such_o deduction_n upon_o receipt_n of_o the_o residue_n of_o their_o rent_n xi_o appeal_v within_o what_o time_n to_o appeal_v if_o any_o person_n by_o this_o act_n sess_v do_v find_v himself_o grieve_v by_o such_o assess_n and_o do_v within_o ten_o day_n after_o demand_n of_o the_o same_o complain_v to_o the_o commissioner_n the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o any_o three_o or_o more_o of_o they_o so_o as_o the_o major_a part_n of_o the_o commissioner_n who_o sign_v the_o rate_n be_v present_a shall_v have_v power_n within_o ten_o day_n after_o such_o complaint_n to_o examine_v any_o person_n upon_o oath_n of_o their_o real_a or_o personal_a estate_n and_o upon_o examination_n and_o knowledge_n thereof_o to_o abate_v or_o enlarge_v the_o same_o assessment_n and_o the_o same_o so_o abate_v or_o enlarge_v shall_v be_v estreat_v into_o the_o exchequer_n as_o aforesaid_a penalty_n appeal_v to_o be_v final_a collector_n neglect_v or_o refuse_v his_o penalty_n and_o appeal_v once_o determine_v to_o be_v final_a xii_o if_o any_o collector_n contributor_n in_o the_o say_a act_n mention_v and_o all_o the_o rate_n and_o duty_n by_o the_o say_a act_n grant_v over_o and_o beside_o so_o much_o as_o shall_v bear_v proportion_n at_o the_o rate_n in_o the_o say_a act_n mention_v to_o the_o whole_a sum_n of_o 881493_o l._n 14_o s._n 2_o d._n already_o advance_v by_o the_o contributor_n upon_o the_o say_a act_n be_v and_o shall_v be_v appropriate_v and_o apply_v and_o be_v hereby_o appropriate_v to_o and_o for_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a annuity_n yearly_a rent_n or_o sum_n after_o the_o rate_n of_o 14_o l._n per_fw-la cent._n per_fw-la annum_fw-la for_o every_o 100_o l._n to_o be_v advance_v as_o aforesaid_a according_a to_o the_o true_a intent_n and_o meaning_n of_o this_o act_n and_o shall_v not_o be_v divert_v or_o divertible_a to_o any_o other_o use_n intent_n or_o purpose_n whatsoever_o under_o the_o like_a penalty_n forfeiture_n and_o disability_n keep_v penalty_n for_o misapply_v the_o money_n give_v by_o this_o act._n book_n and_o register_n to_o be_v keep_v in_o respect_n to_o all_o and_o every_o the_o officer_n in_o the_o say_a act_n mention_v as_o be_v in_o the_o say_a act_n appoint_v in_o case_n of_o divert_v or_o misapply_v any_o part_n of_o the_o money_n which_o ought_v to_o be_v pay_v to_o the_o contributor_n upon_o the_o say_v act._n and_o the_o say_a officer_n be_v hereby_o require_v to_o keep_v book_n and_o register_n and_o make_v entry_n of_o the_o name_n of_o all_o person_n who_o shall_v advance_v any_o money_n before_o the_o say_v first_o of_o may_n and_o of_o the_o several_a sum_n so_o advance_v and_o the_o time_n of_o pay_v in_o the_o same_o respective_o and_o the_o name_n of_o such_o person_n for_o who_o life_n the_o several_a annuity_n or_o yearly_a payment_n be_v to_o be_v payable_a without_o fee_n or_o reward_n as_o in_o the_o say_a act_n mention_v and_o every_o person_n who_o shall_v advance_v or_o pay_v any_o such_o sum_n as_o aforesaid_a june_n interest_n of_o 10_o l._n per_fw-la cent._n from_o one_a of_o may_n to_o the_o 24_o of_o june_n before_o the_o first_o of_o may_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v receive_v out_o of_o the_o money_n grant_v by_o the_o say_a act_n for_o all_o money_n so_o advance_v by_o he_o and_o pay_v from_o the_o respective_a day_n of_o payment_n unto_o the_o 24_o of_o june_n as_o aforesaid_a interest_n at_o the_o rate_n of_o 10_o l._n per_fw-la cent._n per_fw-la annum_fw-la ii_o majesty_n money_n payable_a to_o any_o person_n by_o this_o act_n to_o be_v free_a from_o duty_n surplus_n to_o be_v to_o the_o use_n of_o their_o majesty_n any_o money_n payable_a to_o any_o person_n or_o person_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o be_v chargeable_a with_o any_o rate_n duty_n or_o imposition_n whatsoever_o and_o in_o case_n there_o shall_v be_v any_o surplus_n or_o remainder_n of_o the_o money_n arise_v by_o the_o say_a rate_n and_o duty_n of_o excise_n at_o the_o end_n of_o any_o year_n during_o the_o term_n of_o ninety_o and_o nine_o year_n grant_v therein_o by_o the_o say_v former_a act_n after_o make_v all_o the_o payment_n which_o by_o this_o or_o the_o say_v former_a act_n be_v appoint_v to_o be_v pay_v within_o the_o same_o year_n or_o reserve_v money_n for_o the_o same_o such_o surplus_n or_o remainder_n shall_v be_v to_o the_o use_n of_o their_o majesty_n their_o heir_n and_o successor_n iii_o produce_v upon_o demand_v of_o their_o share_n a_o certificate_n of_o the_o life_n of_o the_o nominee_n shall_v be_v produce_v every_o contributor_n upon_o this_o or_o the_o former_a act_n his_o or_o her_o executor_n administrator_n or_o assign_v upon_o their_o demand_v any_o half-year_o or_o quarterly_a payment_n of_o their_o respective_a share_n of_o either_o of_o the_o say_a fund_n unless_o the_o nominee_n appear_v in_o person_n at_o the_o say_a receipt_n shall_v produce_v a_o certificate_n of_o the_o life_n of_o he_o she_o or_o their_o respective_a nominee_n sign_v of_o a_o false_a oath_n certificate_n penalty_n of_o forge_v a_o certificate_n or_o forge_v any_o certificate_n touch_v the_o premise_n and_o be_v thereof_o lawful_o convict_v he_o shall_v incur_v the_o pain_n and_o penalty_n to_o be_v inflict_v upon_o person_n who_o commit_v wilful_a perjury_n or_o forgery_n and_o in_o case_n any_o nominee_n shall_v at_o the_o time_n of_o such_o demand_n be_v resident_a in_o scotland_n or_o beyond_o the_o sea_n and_o any_o one_o or_o more_o of_o the_o baron_n of_o the_o exchequer_n for_o the_o time_n be_v shall_v certify_v that_o upon_o proof_n to_o he_o his_o certificate_n the_o principal_a commissioner_n of_o excise_n shall_v pay_v it_o and_o if_o the_o officer_n refuse_v to_o pay_v or_o give_v such_o certificate_n he_o shall_v forfeit_v double_a direction_n all_o officer_n to_o observe_v the_o commissioner_n direction_n the_o manager_n director_n commissioner_n and_o officer_n of_o the_o transfer_v office_n receiver_n and_o the_o particular_a officer_n in_o the_o exchequer_n and_o all_o the_o clerk_n minister_n and_o servant_n shall_v for_o the_o better_a execution_n of_o their_o trust_n observe_v and_o perform_v such_o rule_n method_n court_n of_o law_n against_o the_o say_a corporation_n for_o any_o debt_n or_o sum_n of_o money_n and_o shall_v bring_v execution_n thereupon_o unto_o the_o say_a officer_n of_o the_o exchequer_n nominate_v within_o 30_o day_n after_o the_o 29_o of_o sept_n 1694_o their_o executor_n or_o administrator_n or_o such_o as_o shall_v be_v employ_v by_o they_o to_o pay_v in_o the_o say_a sum_n within_o thirty_o day_n after_o the_o 29_o of_o the_o say_v september_n 1694._o which_o yearly_a annuity_n shall_v commence_v from_o the_o say_v 29_o of_o september_n and_o shall_v be_v pay_v quarterly_o at_o the_o four_o most_o usual_a feast_n of_o the_o year_n by_o equal_a portion_n and_o every_o person_n on_o payment_n of_o such_o sum_n or_o sum_n as_o aforesaid_a same_o the_o annity_n to_o be_v pay_v quarterly_o tally_n for_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o same_o shall_v immediate_o have_v one_o or_o more_o tally_n or_o tally_n import_v the_o receipt_n of_o the_o consideration_n money_n and_o order_n for_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a annuity_n bear_v the_o same_o date_n with_o the_o tally_n the_o say_v tally_n to_o be_v levy_v and_o the_o say_a order_n to_o be_v sign_v in_o the_o same_o manner_n as_o in_o and_o by_o a_o act_n of_o this_o present_a parliament_n entitle_v a_o act_n for_o the_o grant_n to_o their_o majesty_n certain_a rate_n and_o duty_n of_o excise_n upon_o salt_n and_o upon_o beer_n ale_n and_o other_o liquor_n for_o secure_v certain_a recompense_n and_o advantage_n in_o the_o say_a act_n mention_v to_o such_o person_n as_o shall_v voluntary_o advance_v the_o sum_n of_o 1000000_o l._n towards_o carry_v on_o the_o war_n against_o france_n be_v mention_v and_o direct_v touch_v tally_n and_o order_n to_o be_v give_v to_o contributor_n for_o
