if_o god_n bless_v a_o congregation_n with_o a_o plentiful_a portion_n of_o this_o world_n good_a it_o be_v their_o duty_n to_o make_v their_o minister_n a_o party_n with_o they_o in_o their_o flourish_a condition_n and_o as_o a_o late_a author_n say_v consider_v the_o place_n and_o employment_n he_o be_v in_o and_o the_o service_n he_o attend_v it_o will_v be_v extreme_o unworthy_a to_o unto_o they_o and_o be_v a_o great_a help_n to_o such_o a_o church_n be_v embody_v with_o they_o and_o this_o we_o do_v say_v for_o a_o people_n to_o put_v themselves_o into_o a_o church_n state_n be_v one_o of_o the_o most_o weighty_a thing_n in_o the_o world_n and_o aught_o with_o as_o great_a care_n and_o consideration_n to_o be_v do_v we_o conclude_v in_o some_o place_n where_o there_o be_v many_o church_n near_o to_o each_o other_o it_o will_v be_v far_o better_o for_o some_o of_o those_o small_a and_o insufficient_a society_n to_o unite_v themselves_o to_o some_o other_o congregation_n and_o by_o that_o mean_v the_o weight_n of_o those_o indispencible_a duty_n and_o obligation_n that_o be_v incumbent_n on_o they_o will_v with_o much_o more_o ease_n be_v bear_v and_o answer_v to_o the_o honour_n of_o christ_n reputation_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o their_o own_o edification_n moreover_o if_o all_o christian_n ought_v to_o consider_v whether_o they_o may_v or_o aught_o to_o put_v themselves_o into_o a_o church_n state_n except_o they_o have_v person_n fit_o qualify_v and_o furnish_v with_o gift_n and_o grace_n for_o the_o ministry_n which_o if_o they_o may_v not_o safe_o do_v then_o by_o the_o same_o parity_n of_o reason_n ought_v they_o to_o consider_v whether_o they_o may_v proceed_v therein_o if_o they_o know_v their_o own_o insufficiency_n in_o respect_n of_o their_o make_v a_o gospel_n provision_n for_o their_o maintenance_n unless_o they_o live_v remote_a from_o any_o other_o church_n and_o so_o necessity_n put_v they_o upon_o their_o so_o do_v obj._n but_o be_v not_o this_o to_o build_v that_o which_o you_o yourselves_o have_v destroy_v viz._n have_v you_o not_o disclaim_v against_o such_o who_o preach_v for_o hire_n answ_n we_o never_o go_v about_o we_o hope_v to_o destroy_v any_o institution_n or_o ordinance_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o the_o minister_n maintenance_n be_v as_o have_v sufficient_o be_v prove_v but_o for_o man_n to_o preach_v for_o excite_v and_o provoke_v every_o man_n to_o his_o duty_n in_o this_o great_a case_n moreover_o you_o must_v take_v heed_n you_o be_v not_o prejudice_v against_o your_o duty_n from_o mistake_v and_o false_a conclusion_n because_o some_o will_v not_o preach_v unless_o you_o put_v into_o their_o mouth_n and_o so_o make_v a_o mere_a trade_n of_o preach_v will_v you_o not_o answer_v the_o requirement_n of_o god_n to_o those_o who_o be_v the_o faithful_a minister_n of_o his_o word_n because_o some_o will_v not_o relieve_v their_o poor_a unless_o they_o be_v force_v to_o do_v it_o will_v you_o disow_v your_o duty_n to_o the_o poor_a saint_n and_o not_o relieve_v they_o but_o object_n and_o say_v it_o be_v too_o much_o like_o the_o national_a practice_n or_o do_v you_o not_o like_o preach_v after_o that_o manner_n i._n e._n with_o a_o text_n doctrine_n reason_n and_o application_n because_o such_o and_o such_o do_v so_o who_o you_o disow_v and_o can_v have_v communion_n with_o preach_v the_o gospel_n up_o and_o down_o in_o town_n and_o village_n lie_v near_o we_o if_o we_o know_v how_o our_o wife_n and_o child_n may_v be_v provide_v for_o for_o shall_v we_o neglect_v that_o bread_n of_o life_n this_o be_v a_o hard_a case_n indeed_o i._n e._n for_o the_o servant_n of_o christ_n to_o have_v the_o due_a sense_n of_o the_o greatness_n of_o their_o work_n upon_o their_o heart_n but_o can_v discharge_v it_o according_a as_o they_o see_v there_o be_v a_o call_n and_o occasion_n by_o reason_n the_o people_n neglect_v their_o duty_n to_o they_o but_o however_o do_v what_o you_o can_v and_o venture_v out_o god_n will_v provide_v for_o you_o and_o move_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o such_o you_o preach_v the_o gospel_n to_o or_o some_o other_o way_n provide_v for_o you_o improve_v this_o present_a liberty_n and_o do_v not_o let_v the_o lord_n house_n lie_v waste_v remember_v necessity_n be_v lay_v upon_o you_o and_o woe_n be_v to_o you_o if_o you_o preach_v not_o the_o gospel_n be_v not_o unbelieving_a but_o trust_v the_o providence_n of_o god_n great_a thing_n he_o expect_v from_o we_o who_o have_v so_o glorious_o and_o gracious_o appear_v for_o we_o and_o for_o the_o land_n of_o our_o nativity_n nevertheless_o let_v none_o mistake_v we_o we_o do_v not_o say_v it_o be_v unlawful_a for_o preacher_n to_o work_n or_o follow_v calling_n but_o as_o preach_v do_v not_o make_v work_v unlawful_a neither_o shall_v any_o worldly_a business_n hinder_v preach_v therefore_o when_o work_v with_o our_o hand_n will_v further_o the_o gospel_n we_o may_v work_n we_o have_v a_o call_v so_o to_o do_v which_o be_v once_o paul_n case_n but_o when_o work_v at_o trade_n and_o calling_n do_v palpable_o tend_v to_o the_o hindrance_n of_o the_o promulgation_n preach_v and_o another_o day_n to_o that_o and_o he_o find_v he_o can_v answer_v neither_o of_o their_o call_n through_o the_o necessity_n of_o his_o fam_o and_o the_o truth_n be_v all_o do_v ready_o grant_v that_o no_o positive_a duty_n can_v discharge_v a_o man_n from_o the_o obligation_n of_o that_o pure_a moral_a and_o universal_a duty_n of_o provide_v for_o his_o family_n brethren_n you_o know_v when_o the_o harvest_n prove_v catch_v and_o the_o painful_a and_o laborious_a harvest-man_n be_v take_v off_o of_o their_o business_n than_o they_o may_v do_v a_o little_a work_n for_o themselves_o but_o when_o it_o be_v good_a harvest_n weather_n and_o the_o harvest_n be_v great_a and_o the_o labourer_n but_o few_o they_o must_v stick_v to_o it_o and_o labour_n hard_o even_o so_o when_o the_o late_a storm_n of_o persecution_n be_v upon_o we_o many_o of_o christ_n spiritual_a harvest-man_n be_v much_o hinder_v and_o take_v off_o of_o their_o work_n and_o do_v may_v be_v employ_v themselves_o otherwise_o in_o their_o other_o affair_n few_o be_v willing_a to_o open_v their_o door_n to_o they_o but_o now_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n have_v open_v a_o great_a door_n for_o the_o gospel_n and_o send_v we_o bless_a harvest_n wether_n and_o the_o labourer_n alas_o be_v also_o very_a few_o though_o the_o harvest_n be_v very_o great_a how_o ought_v we_o to_o stick_v to_o our_o business_n there_o be_v never_o certain_o such_o a_o call_v to_o minister_n to_o work_n for_o god_n as_o there_o be_v now_o therefore_o that_o servant_n that_o will_v not_o do_v his_o best_a at_o such_o a_o hour_n be_v like_o the_o son_n that_o solomon_n speak_v of_o that_o sleep_v in_o harvest_n and_o so_o cause_v shame_n and_o as_o a_o wise_a husbandman_n will_v not_o neglect_v a_o fit_a opportunity_n of_o gather_v in_o his_o corn_n upon_o presumption_n of_o much_o fair_a wether_n to_o come_v so_o ought_v not_o we_o to_o lose_v the_o present_a season_n for_o gather_v in_o take_v in_o his_o work_n yet_o since_o our_o saviour_n say_v the_o labourer_n be_v worthy_a of_o his_o hire_n we_o can_v think_v any_o when_o they_o consider_v the_o matter_n a_o little_a better_o will_v any_o way_n obstruct_v or_o hinder_v you_o in_o your_o business_n through_o their_o neglect_n of_o duty_n to_o you_o object_n but_o do_v not_o christ_n tell_v his_o disciple_n as_o they_o have_v free_o receive_v so_o they_o shall_v free_o give_v answ_n we_o believe_v this_o text_n be_v not_o take_v or_o understand_v according_a to_o the_o meaning_n of_o our_o saviour_n for_o it_o can_v mean_v that_o christ_n minister_n shall_v receive_v neither_o money_n meat_n or_o clothes_n whilst_o they_o be_v employ_v in_o his_o work_n and_o service_n because_o in_o the_o very_a next_o verse_n he_o bid_v they_o provide_v neither_o gold_n nor_o silver_n nor_o brass_n in_o their_o purse_n nor_o two_o coat_n nor_o scrip_n for_o their_o journey_n because_o he_o plain_o intimate_v all_o such_o thing_n they_o be_v worthy_a of_o and_o may_v expect_v they_o from_o the_o people_n to_o who_o they_o preach_v therefore_o it_o be_v a_o horrible_a abuse_n put_v upon_o the_o text_n to_o take_v the_o word_n in_o that_o sense_n as_o if_o our_o bless_a master_n shall_v forbid_v his_o servant_n to_o receive_v a_o maintenance_n from_o the_o people_n for_o then_o indeed_o they_o may_v have_v say_v lord_n if_o we_o must_v preach_v so_o free_o as_o not_o to_o receive_v any_o thing_n it_o behove_v we_o to_o provide_v well_o for_o our_o journey_n but_o since_o they_o be_v forbid_v to_o do_v so_o it_o be_v clear_a that_o can_v not_o be_v our_o saviour_n meaning_n beside_o such_o a_o sense_n be_v direct_o opposite_a or_o repugnant_a to_o those_o other_o precept_n the_o lord_n jesus_n have_v lay_v down_o by_o his_o apostle_n in_o the_o epistle_n wherein_o it_o be_v positive_o

the_o greatness_n of_o the_o prince_n who_o messenger_n they_o be_v set_v forth_o their_o dignity_n they_o be_v in_o christ_n stead_n employ_v in_o the_o great_a affair_n of_o his_o spiritual_a kingdom_n and_o have_v receive_v authority_n from_o he_o and_o be_v also_o prepare_v and_o qualify_v for_o this_o sacred_a work_n by_o he_o and_o indeed_o therefore_o ought_v to_o be_v blameless_a as_o the_o steward_n of_o god_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o those_o who_o be_v say_v to_o receive_v they_o receive_v he_o and_o those_o who_o despise_v they_o despise_v him._n o_o with_o what_o holy_a fear_n dread_a and_o reverence_n ought_v they_o to_o enter_v upon_o this_o work_n and_o office_n lest_o they_o shall_v dishonour_v their_o great_a and_o glorious_a prince_n and_o heavenly_a sovereign_n who_o they_o represent_v be_v it_o not_o a_o weighty_a thing_n to_o be_v make_v the_o mouth_n of_o christ_n 2._o nay_o and_o this_o be_v not_o all_o they_o be_v entrust_v with_o matter_n of_o the_o high_a moment_n in_o the_o world_n christ_n have_v commit_v the_o management_n of_o his_o glorious_a interest_n and_o great_a concern_v he_o have_v on_o earth_n into_o their_o hand_n they_o be_v send_v to_o treat_v with_o poor_a sinner_n about_o eternal_a matter_n even_o the_o eternal_a life_n or_o eternal_a death_n and_o damnation_n of_o their_o precious_a and_o immortal_a soul_n in_o and_o about_o these_o thing_n minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n be_v fellow_n worker_n together_o with_o christ_n 2._o cor._n 6.1_o though_o but_o as_o instrument_n serve_v he_o as_o the_o principal_a agent_n and_o efficient_a cause_n he_o tread_v the_o winepress_n of_o his_o father_n wrath_n alone_o but_o in_o the_o application_n of_o the_o purchase_n of_o man_n salvation_n he_o admit_v of_o the_o soul_n and_o thus_o minister_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v worker_n together_o with_o christ_n and_o without_o he_o they_o can_v do_v nothing_o they_o be_v worker_n but_o they_o must_v have_v christ_n work_v with_o they_o or_o they_o will_v find_v that_o they_o labour_v in_o vain_a but_o be_v it_o not_o think_v you_o a_o high_a and_o most_o sacred_a place_n and_o office_n thus_o to_o be_v
